Walked into Fantastic Sams today to get my little guy a hair cut. At first, they asked if we could come back in an hour, but my little guy was so excited to get his hair cut that when I told him we had to go he got upset and started to cry. BEWARE THE LADY WITH THE RAINBOW GLASSES!! Usually I come to this Sam's and they do a really good job! But any time I get the woman with the rainbow glasses my hair comes out soooo sooo uneven and not what I asked for a couple months ago my gf got her hair done by this woman and showed her a reference photo (a photo of supergirl from the flash movie) and she gave her a Karen cut and styled it like Shirley temple ringlets instead of loose beach waves ‍ we got home and she showered and the CURLS? They were HIDING the HIDEOUS uneven back! It looked like someone took a weed hacker to her head!! yesterday I went in asking for a long ish bob (specified mid neck) she says "I usually cut longer than when the client asks for" and I laugh it off and say "no no, cuz that short" thinking she was gonna cut at my shoulders,,,NO ITS ABOVE MY CHIN AND UNEVEN!! Like. A. Full. Inch. Uneven?!? I LOOK LIKE THE BERRIES AND CREAM BOY!! I walked out of that salon looking like a coconut I showed her a reference photo as well and it had longer chunks in the front to frame my straight across bangs and the only question she asked me was "do you want your bangs this long?" And I had no idea what she was referring to SINCE SHE HAD NOT STARTED CUTTING MY BANGS!! So I was like "um I want them straight across" and she just hacked at them. I had to come home and re-cut them because parts were soo long and in my eyes and some parts were super short. There is a couple other ladies there that do such a good job but honestly the risk of getting the rainbow glasses woman is NOT worth it tbh so safe to say I will not be coming to this location again. read more

Amanda at this location is so incredibly talented! I recently came in after an extremely damaging bleach job with another hair-stylist. My hair was coming out in chunks when I brushed it, was uneven- and had lots of breakage as a result. I thought we were going to have to chop it all off. She assured me we could make it right with a beautiful cut and a deep conditioning treatment. Her professionalism and artistry reached above and beyond my highest expectations. Not only did she rectify my uneven hair with minimal length lost, the overall condition of my hair has been improved dramatically with her product recommendations and at home care suggestions. Amber is a great hair stylist, but your appointment keeping is atrocious. A) even if you're 3 minutes late for the appointment you booked in advance, they still take first come first serve to the point that you might as well wing it every time you go (stop allowing appointments if you never keep them), B) the appointments you book for in advance for a particular hair stylist is confirmed in the moment you book it, but then treated like you never booked an appointment the day of the haircut. In the end, you come out expecting a haircut but you never get a notification ahead of time that hair stylist could no longer follow through with the appointment, and C) there has never been any change in this flawed system. In other words, unreliable and incapable of being dependable. Keep Amber though. She's amazing. read more

I got my bangs cut here before and they came out amazing and just how I wanted them. I came back today to get them trimmed and I showed the lady how they had looked before. I assumed she understood the length and texture I wanted because she didn't ask me any further questions, but she then proceeded to carelessly cut them too short and blunt. They're completely uneven and she didn't even blend it with the rest of my hair. I was standing there about to cry while I was paying but I didn't want to be rude or cause a scene, just know I'm extremely upset about it. read more

I have curly hair and have recently begun seeing Amanda. She has already made lots of great suggestions for how to wear my hair in different ways, products to use, and encouragement that my hair will "work" in several different hair styles that I asked about. This place is absolutely awful. They don't listen, lie and don't care. Horrible. I went in for a semi-permanent color and the stylist put permanent color in my hair then proceeded to tell me I'd "only have to come in for touch ups". It wasn't a miscommunication she did what she wanted to do. The point of semi-permanent color is NOT having your roots look like freaking skunk when they grow out. When I got upset she tried to lie and say it wasn't permanent. I also did not want the harsh chemicals in my hair, my hair is fried and like 5 shades too dark now, the semi-permanent does not come out this dark. Management hardly took it seriously at all. All they had to say was "mistakes happen". It wasn't a mistake. I would stay far away from this place. read more

Do not go here. Stylist number 283. Avoid this person at all cost. You will know who she is because she looks like she hates life and she will impress that opinion on you as well. My wife went in and she has very very long hair. She wanted an inch cut off to get rid of dead ends and have it layered. I barely even understand hair and I can tell you she cut off 6 inches and it looks like she used a weed whacker to layer it. Also when brushing her hair out with her dollar store materials her comb broke and she said "you just broke my comb, well that just adds my crappy day". Dear god I forgot to mention the woman communicated through grunts like an ogre. There is just to much with this experience to type but I will leave you with a quote from her " *Grunt grunt* good nuf?" read more

This is our normal go to place for my kids. I realize we are in a different time now - they are now taking appointments now so we made one. 730 pm. We arrived at 725. We left at 754 because it would be another 10 - 15 minutes. We are understanding and working with the new restrictions- but if you are giving out appointments- keep them. I feel like an episode of Seinfeld. Anyone can make an appointment.... it is a good place and we like it, but my time and schedule is just as important as everyone else's. read more

I went into this salon a week and a half ago to get my hair from green to blonde. I told the stylist that my hair was in a fragile state but she told me she could work on it and it would be fine as long as she watched it. She attempted to pull the color out but was unsuccessful and toned my hair to a brown color to try to cover up the green, the green was still very visible underneath the brown so because she was unable to complete my request she scheduled me an appointment the following week with the manager free of charge. This appointment is where it really went bad. The manager bleached my hair and tried to tone it out again but I ended up with the dirtiest yellow color I've ever seen. On top of that she fried off large portions of my hair and didn't even say anything. I noticed when I got home and cried for an hour. The right side of my hair is still falling out and is about 1/3 as thick as the other side. I am going to have to shave my head. I tried calling corporate about a week ago and still haven't received a call back. Just DONT GO HERE if you're looking for color and want to keep your hair. read more

I'm fairly new to this location, and I had a terrible experience with the workers. I arrived around 6:00 for my scheduled appointment, and I had to wait almost an hour past my appointment time. When I was finally approached by a stylist, I asked for a price estimate. I was told around $115 for a simple trim and all one color dye. Higher end salons charge around this much for their services. I was surprised by the price, so I asked why it would cost that much. I explained that my hair is very short (shoulder length) and they had told me over the phone the other day price would depend on hair length. A stylist called the manager to speak with me, and she immediately spoke to me in an ill tempered manner. I expressed my surprise for the price and wanted an explanation, and instead received nothing but disrespect. The manager told me I was being ridiculous, refused to serve me, and threatened to call security on me. I had done nothing to present myself in a threatening manner, but within minutes of speaking with the manager, I was told to leave or else I would have security called on me. I have been going to Fantastic Sam's for years now, and I've never been treated as poorly as I have at this location. I would never recommend this location to anybody.
