Do NOT go here. They chopped about 6 inches off my daughter's hair without asking me. Horrible haircut, and they did nothing to remedy the situation. The manager is never there to give a refund. Just got back from getting my short hairstyle trimmed and it's EXACTLY what I wanted! Usually, stylists either get it WAAAY too short or it's a totally different style than what I came in with. I have naturally curly hair & most sylists can't figure out how to compensate the length of the hair when it dries (it gets shorter). But R did an excellent job! I definitely will go back! read more

My usual girl was booked for awhile so I thought I'd stop in to try FS. The experience overall was horrible. All I wanted was a trim and my bangs touched up. First of all, my hair was washed in a sink that had clearly just been used to wash out a perm. The smell stayed in my hair for days. The washing itself was painful. Usually, that's the most relaxing part. Then my hair was combed out, which felt like I was being scalped. She literally scraped the comb from one side of my head to the other, literally dragging the comb along my scalp as hard as I'd imagine anyone could. I told her it was painful, and she kept saying sorry. I tried to just suffer through it so I could be done and leave, but I should have gotten up and left. The trim was choppy, and she didn't know how to touch up my bangs. She asked a coworker to come help, and even after all was done, I noticed only half of my bangs were cut. Really? Almost done. She then blow dried my hair in the slowest, most awkward way. I'm not sure if the ladies in this establishment have ever had an beauty training ever. What usually takes anyone else I've had trim my hair and bangs about 20-30 minutes, if that, took this young lady almost 2 hours! I will not be going back. read more

The stylist are very professional, courteous and the end result is always pleasing. I think it's worthy to write something nice when deserving. Today Fantastic Sam's taught me why we won't be returning again. After going to the same hairdresser for 14 years, she changed salon locations one too many times for our family. We decided to look for someone closer to our house. On a whim, I tried Fantastic Sam's, The girl was nice, the price was cheap, and the hair cut was just okay. Over the next three years, my daughters and I tried different salons, but never found one we liked enough to make permanent. In a hair emergency, I tried Fantastic Sam's again about 6 months ago. This time I got Anna. I liked her and I liked my cut. I asked if I could ask for her when I came back, and she said, "absolutely". I took my 20 year old with me a few months ago, and I waited for my turn to have Anna cut my hair, while another girl cut my daughter's. This week, I dropped in and learned that Anna works only 3 days a week. So I sent my daughter in to her yesterday, and I waited for my turn to go today. I called first to confirm their hours and to be sure Anna would be in. When we pulled up, my husband said he was surprised I would go to a place like this. I told them that Anna did a great job for me. I arrived about 2-1/2 hours before closing, and the woman at the register informed me that someone was already waiting for Anna. I told her I had already tried to come in once this week, and I would happily wait my turn. She said, "alright". Then another woman who was also waiting started to complain that they had told her Anna would not cut her hair, and she didn't think it was fair that Anna would cut mine. The terribly confused woman at the register was to be the one to cut her hair, so I could understand the concern. Anna came over and I told her that all three of us were waiting for her. She said that she was in the middle of a color, and would not be able to take care of all of us. And that is when I realized that the "convenient" salon was NOT so convenient. If you can't make an appointment for the stylist you want, and you aren't allowed to wait for the one you want, then what's the point? I may as well have gone to Great Clips next door. My niece's salon just added a new location in Carlsbad. It seems like it will be well worth the drive. read more

The review about the hairdresser in the first station was completely correct. I believe her name is Sayhe but I will NEVER in my life go back here. I am not particular about my hair. I had all one length long down to the middle of my back. I wanted a trim and one layer added. GOODBYE 5 INCHES OF HAIR! Without even a word she cut right into it. She kept telling me it looked like what I wanted and I kept telling her no it didn't. She cut it dry then tried to wash it after which to me was just so I couldn't see the blunt layers she kept insisting looked good which are completely framing my face. She kept pointing to the picture that I showed her saying that is what I looked like and I kept telling her no it doesn't. She did not take her time with anything. She cut right through it, didn't care about my comfort, didn't ask what I wanted, nothing professional. I got all the way home because I just wanted to get out of there and then noticed that the right side of my hair was about an inch longer than the left. So I HAD TO go somewhere to get it fixed. I am very upset. I am not someone who cares much about their hair and thought a trim from anyone would be fine but now I have 30 days to hope it grows before my husband gets back from a deployment. I will NEVER go back here. She is unprofessional, rude and unintelligent. And I see now after reading other reviews that this isn't her first complaint. Went in for a haircut. Normally I don't get my haircut at chain salons like these because they either have really old stylists working there who are a bit dated on style or really young and fresh from beauty school stylists who can't get a job anywhere else. But I had a coupon which seemed to be a good deal so I gave them a shot. The salon was dead which to me is a scary sign. It makes me think people are avoiding getting their hair done there for a reason. They don't have a receptionist so you have to wait awhile to be acknowledged. They offer complementary coffee but the coffee pot was empty and the owner who was there didn't even care to say hi or make more coffee. The girl who ended up cutting my hair looked young and stylish so I figured I'd get a decent cut. Turns out she didn't know how to cut hair. She just chopped away and the cut took forever. I wish I would have splurged and went to a high end salon where they have experienced stylists capable of doing a basic layered females haircut. No wonder the place was dead. I should have booked it out the door when I first walked in. read more

Wish i could go lower than one star! So , I'll admit I expected nothing less but the horrible trim I got. And I brought this upon myself but I really needed a trim for my African American hair so I said what the hell. I even made it easy for her and flatironed my natural hair to make it a bit easy and hoping I wouldn't get a botched job but people never seems to amaze me of how easy it is to whisk through a beauty school and claim to be a "hairstylist". No I dnt kno much about hair but I KNOW MY HAIR and I KNOW what a good "trim" is. And the screwed up trim i received yesterday is beyond horrible! If she wasn't familiar with my type of hair, which was straighted prior to my "trim" than she should've spoken up but of course Noone is going to do that. She asked me how much I wanted to cut off, which should've been a red flag right but since she was uneducated on trimming I told her what I thought. I'm clearing coming to you for your expertise and you clearly have none! Lol!! She combed my hair straight down and cut even across the back, that is not by any way how to trim hair correctly and I didn't want her to fuck up my hair even more so I didnt say anything. I could've walked out of there with no fucking hair. Oh and she said that my hair was damaged, but this was after she "trimmed" my hair isn't damaged it was frizz that she called damage hair and wanted to cutt off more of my hair but I said ah no!! Her name was Jasmine, she has red and black hair, tattoos everywhere, and she literally has no clue! I'm pretty sure I'm not her first nor will I be the last screw up. She needs to go to a real cosmology school and learn about hair. And the nerve of her to try to persuade the me into being her client on a regular basis and gave me her "card". I wouldn't want my worse enemy to go to her. But she was nice and friendly! Just beware of who does your hair which is why I dnt have a hair stylist. I do my own hair except trim, but the lady I trust to trim my hair and knows what she is doing is 3000 plus miles away so I took a chance. read more
