    Rice burrito or Joint burrito?
    Diana D.

Stopped by yesterday to Have their food again, I never had a bad experience with this place until today. We ordered wings and the "Joint Burrito" you can never go wrong with the wings. But unfortunately, the joint burrito was 95% only rice and very little meat. We went yesterday around 7pm and very sad that all I tasted was rice. I don't know how you guys portion the food but please make sure all employees know the best way to make these meals. I've had the joint burrito before and there was lots of flavors in this specific burrito. So it definitely depends on the cook.. but I don't want to gamble every time I come and "hope to get a decent burrito ". Wings were good as always.

Located right across the plaza from the Regal Edwards Theater at The Lakes Mall, this chicken shop was clean, however we felt that the food and service were just okay. FOOD: Nothing was bad, but nothing "wowed" us either. First, we ordered the Spicy Tuna Nachos ($12.95) appetizer, which was actually served last (not sure why restaurants don't understand the concept of an appetizer...it's supposed to come pre-meal). We tried the 12-piece Wings ($17.95), splitting the flavors between Lemon Pepper and Garlic Soy (flavors weren't very bold), as well as the Chicken Katsu Curry Bowl ($12.95), which I thought was a little dense/heavy. We also ordered both bottled and draft beers, and I thought that they could have been served much colder. Overall, it was only okay, and we decided that we probably wouldn't go out of our way to return.

I've had this restaurant in my list of collection to try so I finally did today. The restaurant is clean, spacious, cool and had great music playing. The staff were friendly and patient since I wasn't sure what to order. I decided on the Frisco Melt. The patty had great flavor, cooked perfectly and was served on Texas toast. The fries, which it comes with were simple but, fire! Low key reminded me of McDonald's. My niece ordered the Chicken Teriyaki Bowl. Unfortunately, she didn't like the flavor of the sauce. If you're used to a sweeter, thicker sauce you probably wouldn't like it either. I tasted it and it's okay. I prefer a sweeter sauce. This is more soy sauce based. I could see this bowl being so good if that sauce was on point but, the chicken was cooked great and the rice was on point too! Overall, I would definitely recommend dining in here. My son added a sunny side up egg for $1.50 to his Melt and he absolutely loved it. We will be come back to try their wings. They look delicious!!!

The price leans on the heavier-mid side, but I like how the place handles the Asian and Latin fusion balance. The workers function at a diner level and are quick and clean. The place is like a sports bar that happens to keep a fun balance between kimchi & aioli and tacos and nachos. Their "Joint" options are always a safe choice. Good place to eat before or after any movie you see at the local Edwards.

We ordered 50 wings with 5 different flavors. #1Garlic Soy #2Garlic Parmesan #3 Cajun were my Top Picks. The Joint Burger is the best burger I've ever tasted:):) A must try is the Joint Burrito:):) The Rice Bowls which we ordered 2 Korean Bbq that disappeared in 5 minutes:):)

Far East Joint is in the Lakes plaza! You order first before seating, and they will bring your order to the table. I saw people sit and eat, but there were also a lot of people ordering to go. The Joint Burrito is one of my Top 3 burritos in the area. It is packed full with fried rice and bulgogi, each bite was perfect. This is a MUST order!

Nachos - Way too small! I ate 1-2 chips after taking this pic and hit the bottom of the plate

I really wanted to like this place but they are too stingy with their portions especially the asada nachos. I ordered the asada Nachos and when I got home, I was super disappointed to see how little food they gave me. I ate 1-2 nachos and already hit the bottom of the container. They didn't even fill it out around the container. I wouldn't even be mad if they didn't give me enough meat but they didn't even give me enough of their stupid wonton nacho chips. The taste was pretty good 8/10 but no way was this plate worth $15. I know the economy is rough for everyone and they have to cut corners but these guys won't last if they keep giving out these BS size nachos.

Love this place! Food is always fresh! We tried something new on the menu & it was pretty good, shrimp tempura bowl for all you non meat eaters lol. It came with rice & salad & it 3 shrimp, so yummy. I love their salad dressing! So just fyi this is not a fast food place. Your food is made to order so you will have to wait at least 10 minutes depending on what you're ordering. If you order wings you should call it in or order online prior to coming. However it's a great place to take your friends & have a drink bcuz they sell beer & soju & food is worth the wait. We also had the Frisco melt & joint tacos & it was awesome as usual. I love their fries!

The place is small and clean. Service is good and friendly. Food on the other hand is fresh and good. Check out the pictures of what I ordered. Would come back again.

Decided to come check this out since I was in the area. There are plenty of tables on the inside but their AC wasn't working. They DID have these high powered fans running but it was still hot in this 90 degree weather. Cashier was friendly and attentive. Checked in w/ us halfway through our meal. Ordered the Joint Tacos and Joint fries. The fries were decent. I was expecting a little bit more for the portion size from all the pictures I've seen online. It seemed smaller than the previous. The flavor was good but a little too sweet and salty. The tacos had the same flavor, however whatever cut they used on the meat made it very chewy. I doubt I'd give this place another try, especially with so many other choices in the area. Maybe I just tried the wrong things. But it's in a good area right outside the theater.

I absolutely love this place. I'm from Huntington Beach, and I drive here to get the joint Burrito and joint fries. The joint Burrito is HUGE! It's filled with rice, bulgolgi, and kitchen, and they also put a spice sauce inside, which is BOMB. I split this with my wife, and we are both pretty satisfied. Super good. We also got joint fries to share, and it was delicious! The portion on this was surprisingly small. It could have used more fries and more bulgolgi but definitely very tasty and recommended. We also got a beef bowl for the kids. I didn't try it cause I was so full, but it looked great! My kids loved it. The service was outstanding, and the lady was very helpful with taking my order and explaining things to me. I told her I had little ones and they are very picky eaters, so she put everything for the bowl on the side. That was very nice. The little ones loved the beef. Anyways, if you're in this area, definitely try this place. Best bulgolgi Burrito!!

i would give this place a 4.5-5 stars! the staff is super friendly and helpful. we got the onion rings, joint fries, and beef bowl. onion rings - really crispy! my niece loved it and it's not too much batter compared to the onions. joint fries - flavorful; bulgogi, cheese, with a hint of minced kimchi and green onions. it was the perfect shareable amount. the balance between the bulgogi and fries were good. beef bowl- bulgogi with rice and salad. the salad was more spinach with some croutons. the bulgogi was really flavorful and rice was decent. this makes you full! the only thing was that the music was super loud so i had to talk in the other person's ears. the joint fries were delicious, just a bit too saucy that made it soggy quick. i wanted more crispier fries with some sauce, perhaps sauce on the side(?)

I hope this place never leaves the The Lakes plaza... it's one of the staples keeping it alive and for many it's an engrained part of growing up in the area. Going for a movie then out to eat here... to the mall, after school, etc. They have been doing fusion since before fusion was a thing! My favorites are the Joint Fries, Carne Asada Fries, and Joint Fried Rice. Service is always fast and honestly I don't mind the rising prices... you gotta do what you gotta do to stay in business!

I am so glad we chose Hide Out Cafe in Rowland Heights to have our celebration. The food is delicious, the staff is so friendly, and the cafe is so cozy and welcoming. My brother was sponsoring our meal since he couldn't make it, so of course we had to go all out and order two drinks and two main dishes. (Thank you, big brother)! I got the Boba Bear Set $8.50, which comes with a drink and two house-made cookies, and my mom got their Tiramisu Latte $7.00, which is heavy on the coffee liquor, to be honest, but we had fun with it. The drinks are crafted beautifully, and with the open cafe concept, you can see they pay attention to the small details of their crafted drink menu. The house-made cookies that were a part of my Boba Bear Set are not to be forgotten. The cookies are buttery, decadent, and delicious; they are the perfect tea cookies to pair with! I can't wait to go back and try more of their fun drinks and maybe bring a study book the next time. For our main dishes, we shared the Chimi Wagyu & Frites $35.00, and the Fresh Avocado Toast $19.00. We both love eggs so of course we had to get something with eggs in our dish. My mom loved her avocado toast, and they were very generous with the avocado as well on there. The salad is a definite hit with us and included a great dressing on the side. The eggs were cooked perfectly on top of our toast and steak. The frites with my steak were crispy and seasoned well. I also loved the chimi sauce with my steak as well. The portion was huge so we were able to take some back home to enjoy another day. Overall, my mom and I had a great experience and would absolutely come back for another sip of their lattes and try another fun drink on their menu. I really wanted to love Couwami Asian Fusion!…read more The small, family run restaurant cozily braided into a strip mall one block south of the 210 FWY on Azusa had piqued my interest when I'd ferried an Uber Eats order from there on SAT. Interest captured by the vivid scents wafting from the kitchen and the mostly positive Yelp reviews, I boomeranged back 24 hrs later to place my maiden order. I went with Shanghai Egg Rolls and the Yang Chow Fried Rice, but I'd asked them to substitute more chicken and Chinese sausage for the shrimp, as your favorite Yelp correspondent has never enjoyed shrimp in any form other than cocktails. The staff is exceedingly nice!!! Owner/proprietor JOSEPH and his wife skate around as balls of determined energy, but with welcoming smiles affixed to their faces. The prices are pretty reasonable- My tab for a generous multi-protein entree and appetizer was $19.34 including taxes. But can we please have a conversation about the flavors? Couwami partisans! Tell me-- Did your faithful correspondent order the wrong items?! My Shanghai Egg Rolls were undercooked, limp and flaccid. The flavors were solid but the texture was so off-putting and uncharacteristic for a typical egg rolls, that I could barely get them down. The Yang Chow Fried Rice was also undercooked- I'm used to fried rice that has a toasted, beigy-yellow finish with chicken or pork cooked to at least medium to medium well doneness. My entree was, as the picture attest, a faint ivory hue and I actually hadta toss it in my skillet for five minutes to toast up the rice and finish cooking the tendrils of chicken, which were served medium rare, a micro-degree above pink but with the unpleasant mouth feel of sushi. Not exactly the way you'd expect your proteins to be prepared! I'm a huge believer in redemption. And judging by the hundreds of 4.2 level reviews on Yelp, I suppose its possible I just caught the cook on a bad night or ordered the WDT (Wrong Damn Thing)...twice! I'd normally accord two stars but will bump this up to three based on the utter civility and decency that Joseph and his staff extended to me.

There were some bites that were creamy and some bites that weren't. I honestly thought it could use more cream or butter to add some more richness. The pasta itself was al dente. There wasn't much flavor overall with the dish, and the mala was very mild (for reference, I can handle medium spice levels at other restaurants). The seafood quality was okay for the price. Overall, the food was excellent, even my Asian parents, who can be pretty critical when it comes to Chinese food, gave most dishes high marks. The crispy noodles had great texture, the West Lake beef soup was comforting and flavorful, and the eggplant portions were generous. The service was what I'd describe as classic Chinese restaurant service. The waitress came across as a little rushed and occasionally seemed slightly annoyed, but she was still attentive and accommodated everything we asked for without any issues. Our food came out at a reasonable pace, and we never felt forgotten or had to chase anyone down. The atmosphere had its own unique charm. The restaurant was playing early-2000s hip-hop while a Chinese gangster drama played on the TV, which made for an unexpectedly entertaining backdrop. The restroom was also clean, which is always appreciated. My only real criticism is the sweet and sour pork. The batter itself was crispy and well executed, but too many of the pieces were mostly breading wrapped around bone with very little meat. It was the one dish I probably wouldn't order again. Even with that one miss, everything else was strong enough that we left very satisfied.
