This place is pretty much an average budget massage place. They advertise full body and foot reflexology massages, but I booked a 1-hr full body and 30-minute foot reflexology, and it turned out to be a 90-minute full body, mostly concentrating on my back. The massage was fine, good value for the price. I noticed a few people say in the reviews that workers made comments about expected tipping. I thought that was strange because I never experienced that pre-pandemic and had been getting massages there for a few years. But this time I did have them make a comment that my tip was not enough for a 90-minute massage. I tipped $14 on a $75 massage, which I didn't think was that low. Did a 1 hour couples massage today and I must say, this is the worst massage I've ever received. Not only was the massage bed uncomfortable and had me feeling like I was suffocating the entire massage, the massage itself was terrible. We asked for full body massages, they spent at the very least 45 minutes just on our upper back, then maybe 2 minutes per arm, and less than 10 minutes on our lower body/ legs. Then flipped us over, pounded our legs for about a minute (which included my effin kneecap) and that was it. There was no foot massage and when they massaged our backs, they used there elbows to push up and down our spine. Aside from this massage being painful (and I like a deep tissue massage when it's done correctly) I think these people are inexperienced and honestly a hazard. No one should have that much pressure up and down their actual spine especially from an elbow and they shouldn't be pounding around someone's leg if they can't tell where the kneecap is. I actually had the man in charge (either the owner or manager), so if he doesn't know what he's doing, I don't know if anyone does. I've been to many massage parlors not only throughout New York State but also in different counties (including Asian countieS (emphasis on the s)) and this is the worst massage I've ever had in my life. My spine feels bruised, I'll probably be going to the Dr. to make sure not too much damage is done. I do not recommend this spot. Although it's conveniently located by my home, (that's why we went), there are other spots of similar price that are ACTUALLY good. I will never go back to Far East Wellness again. read more

As I was packing up to leave they followed me out to the front and said don't forget to tip. I asked if I could tip on my card since they made me pay before I got the service and I tip based on how good the services are. Needless to say that for their services they were expecting a 25-30% tip. They then started arguing and yelling at me to tip them more money. A friend of mine and I had 60 minute foot massages. They started with about a 10 minute upper back and neck massage while our feet soaked in water. Then a wonderful, relaxing massage of feet and lower legs. The music was lovely, it was very clean, nicely decorated. The masseuses didn't speak English, but that wasn't really a problem. As other reviews mentioned, you have to pay before the massage, but I don't see why that's a problem except that it's unusual. We got really nice massages and left generous tips, I'm sure these women don't make much in the way of salaries. It was wonderful that we could get the massages together in chairs next to each other. We didn't talk but we shared the experience. The value was great. Given how much less expensive it is compared to other places I came with lowish expectations and was happily surprised at what a good experience it was. I will come again. read more

So the lady up front collects payment before service is rendered. Odd.... Anyway, I paid with the card and left the tip portion blank. For me tips are earned, it's not a given. So I had my session. She really took care of me and worked out my knots in my upper back. She did a great job is an understatement. There was not an area of my body Yuyu did not take care of well. I've been here in the past for a couples massage and the massage was ok. They dig their elbows in in places that they should be more gentle, like your spine. Anyways, this time I had a gift receipt for a facial and couples massage. The facial was whatever, nothing special. The woman left me with the steam on and left the room for 10 minutes. Mostly the facial was them putting different creams on and a face massage. Of the 60 min facial about 20 mins was down time where nothing was actually done. Next was my massage. It was supposed to be a couples massage but they only have one person doing "facials" so they split us up. I get undressed and ready for my massage. The woman pulls my underwear down exposing my entire behind without first telling me shes going to do so which was pretty uncomfortable. She continues with the massage which was pretty good except for putting her full body weight on her elbows into my spine... not only uncomfortable but dangerous. Then a woman comes in and they have a conversation in the makeshift doorway WITH MY BARE BEHIND OUT. On top of all this the place is freezing cold. When we go to leave, despite this I tip 15% to the facialist and over 20% to the masseuse. Two ladies start talking to each other and complain that we didn't tip them enough. Since it seems they are so desperate for money I gave both double the tip and will never see them again. Horrible!!!!! I came here a few times over the years and this will definitely be my last. The guy who gave me the massage did not know what he was doing and was just using his elbow/forearm to roll over my whole back which was very painful. Now they are using a thin paper cover over the bed versus fresh new sheets. Wouldn't be surprised if they don't change all of the linens between clients now that I think of it.
