What a cute place and even cuter owners! We were immediately welcomed as we walked through the door. Ordered some coffee and breakfast and decided to eat in as we were the only ones there. The coffee was very nice and not too burnt/acidic as a lot of places are, and the food was delicious and their ingredients tasted very fresh. One thing I loved about this place was how neighborly it felt as people started coming in for their coffees but were also catching up with the owner. So lovely. Will definitely be back.

I had a crazy dream that a coffee bar would appear on this corner --- and it did! Not just any cafe but a sweet and genuine, for-the-love-of-the-bean kind of shop. I now have a feeling this friendly little spot is going to become a neighbourhood phenomenon. Serving up Origins coffee and treats from East Village Bakery and Black Rook Bakehouse, just up the street. (with some gluten free nummies too.) Screaming of local and EastVan, the vibe is just right.

I was recommended this place by another yelper on August 14th and book marked it for future reference. They close at 3 pm on the weekday, therefore, that was a challenge to get to. I had to wait for the weekend. The initial reviews on the London Fog is what also encouraged me to check this place out. I came here to work on my zine and some holiday crafts for a few hours before heading to some craft fairs later that day as well as selling at some fairs. Thankfully it was sunny as the sun shone inside making me feel good. There is a lot of window space. There's a large communal table which is perfect for large projects. It is also an easy way to make friends. Limited selection on the menu but they make whatever most coffee shops provide in terms of drink preparation. Bonus is that they have a mini arcade in the back. I played a few rounds of AC/DC pinball while sipping my LF. Prices are very reasonable and cheap.

We got to choose from breaded or non-breaded and a few different flavours of wings like Salt & Pepper, Smokey BBQ, Sweet Heat, and Spicy Buffalo. It was about a 20-30 minute wait for the wings so we did find it a bit long. The service was average and nothing notable. But when the wings did arrive, they were served with a ranch dipping sauce and it was hot & fresh! We got a few more rounds afterwards (that didn't look or weren't plated as nicely but still tasted good) and enjoyed it a lot. It was $25 for AYCE wings but it also included a $10 credit to play any of their arcade games. That's a pretty good deal in our opinions! We'd likely return for more wings if we feel like eating abnormal amounts again!

Parking is plentiful in the mall lot. The place is pretty full of life. There is a large arcade with plenty of relatively modern games (most are G to PG themed), and a section for table tennis and pool. Place has a relatively loungeish feel, which is great for those in their 20s. Some kiddie games provide tickets, which can be redeemed for points. And just like a Chuck E Cheese, the ticket costs are insane. The place also has a large food section with fast food, as well as spaces for private parties. Not a bad place to check out and kill some time.

But if you've made it this far, let me tell you about the magical and prehistoric collector's items available at John's Jukes. First and foremost are the Jukeboxes, old delightful automated DJ machines that take everything from loonies to nickels. One of the Jukeboxes is fashioned to look like the back of a hot pink convertible, perfect for making your living room look like Pop Tate's Soda Shop in Archie Comics. Most of the other ones can be summed up by referencing the opening montage for Happy Days. There is also a wide variety of pinball machines, with every co-opted franchise from Star Wars to Kiss, and a few video game consoles that have been manhandled by fastidious fingers for over 40 years. But it's a high price to pay for nostalgia, with items ranging from several hundred dollars to several thousand. If you do miss Frogger that much though, it's the right place to go, just make sure that you have a truck nearby so you don't have to maneuver the console through traffic.

We came by on a Friday afternoon and purchase the $20 package for (if I remember correctly) 105 "points" to play with. Each machine can take anywhere from 12 to 21 (there may be a higher cost one that we missed) "points" for each attempt. I will say that we VERY quickly went through the $20, and the hubby ended up getting another $20 reload and asked if one of the games could be reset. The employee was very nice and helped reset the game, and we were (eventually) able to win one of the plushes! It's a clean area, and it seems to be a favorite for groups of friends and couples. The plushes are cute, and some are available for purchase (if you just have to have it!). I wouldn't mind going back again, though my heart dropped each time the claw grabbed the toy and immediately dropped it instead of moving to the chute with it. :') It's in the Aberdeen Centre, 2nd story!

There are a couple pineball machines, a couple digital dart boards, a shooting game, one skiball.... I heard there is usually Nintendo, but likely that's off limit now because of covid-19. It be way cool if they had a pool table, but the bar is just too small. With COVID, u can only have one group playing games in one area and the bar is so small there just isn't enough options. The Den does have a bunch of tvs so its good for watching a game. They also have a jukebox which is cool, but u can't use it if the game is on. I would visit this bar again simple because the drink prices are so reasonable and they also have daily specials. I took a star off because of the serious lack of food. The food is basically hot dogs, popcorn, and pizza pops lol. Pizza pops hey???? Surely they can do better. Also, the girls bathroom smells like cat litter which is pretty gross, so i took a star off for that. For th3 most part, the staff were friendly, except for this one moment when a patron was standing at his own table watching the TV for like 30 seconds and an employee told him to sit down. It was pretty loud, he raised his voice from across the room which was unprofessional, but my question is what's the big deal?? You are at your own table, its an "arcade" where most the time u are standing. Its not a covid rule that you can't stand at your own table. He wasn't mingling, there was no one else even around. It was strange and kinda rude. Ayways, if u want a couple quick drink for a reasonable price check it out. If COVID ever dies, maybe it would be a little more exciting.

They open as early as 9:30 a.m. on Monday and Tuesday, and 11:30 a.m. the rest of the week, so you can kickstart the fun right away. The layout here is brilliant: you can enjoy the mini-golf in the basement, catch your favorite sports games on a massive screen at the first-floor sports bar, or head up to the second floor for an absolute playground of pool tables, arcades, VR games, and QBIX. Personally, my absolute favorites are Super Mario Car Racing, Motorbike Racing, and VR Godzilla. The setup is highly rewarding, though it totally tempts you to buy more credits than you actually need- especially since the more you buy, the more bonus credits you rack up. Plus, you can trade your game points for merchandise, ranging from cute mini keychains all the way up to a Nintendo Switch. If you get hungry from all the gaming, they've got you covered. Enjoy 'Appy Hour daily from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m., or hit up a Late Night Menu from 11p.m. to close, Thursday through Saturday, for good discounts on appetizers and drinks.

Yes, lots of games, that reward you, or "reward" you... points may vary, even if you are skilled. That's the top floor, because you need to believe that indeed it's elevated. Middle floor, the one you come in from, is the counter to buy your game card/wrist band/NFC thing... and the restaurant, which to be honest, isn't half bad. It's not fine dining, so don't expect that here.. at an ADULT ARCADE... but the burgers are solid, the Nachos are overloaded, and salads.. eer... why would you get a salad? oh right, health... perrfff. yeah, no.. say yes to meat please? Downstairs, where it's quieter, you can get a beer, and tee up the 9 hole mini-golf. it starts simple, which makes you feel like you are half-decent, but as you go along, it gets harder, and more... hard. Which is okay, because life should hard, like the side of a golf ball, dimpled and knocked around, with scars of where you have been, and where you are going. There is a story... which is on a roll... see what I did? okay, nevermind, but really, it's a solid mini-golf. Overall, it's a good place to hang out with friends, enjoy a little gaming, and well, relax. It's in the middle of town, so parking is a nightmare, but again, it's cool.
