Dr. Mahmood first tested and confirmed my RA diagnosis in Jan 2020 and has been my provider ever since. My RA numbers are negative and my symptoms are maintained with daily medication. You don't answer your phone and I'm not chasing you down anymore. Genuinely sad to have treated here. The 1 star isn't because she did not resolve my issue- but because it's clear she's running a business. 1) She referred me to a specialist who she literally said she has so much faith in, and encouraged me to go out of my way to get an appointment with exactly that specialist only to later turn around and say she has no idea about his practice only that I needed that type of specialist. Seems she runs on referrals. 2) you have a higher chance of winning the lottery than getting someone from her office to answer. But if you owe $$ their lines are laser fast. 3) after the specialist she sent me to literally shrugged his shoulders and was basically like... 'I don't know why you're here go back to her,' I knew she couldn't help- nevertheless her office reached out to my multiple times saying I should come in. During one of our final calls before my last appointment I literally asked whether she had anything else to add re my condition or if whether I'm coming in just for her to say she can't help me. Kid you not the woman laughed and said "of course not! Why would she then say to come in". When I asked for a phone visit she adamantly refused and insisted i need to come in. Guess what? I came in and she said she can't help me that it!! She only offered the same slightly revised statements from the last visit when I expressed to her how disgustingly she runs her business (on referrals!!). 4) she still charged me even after I recounted the preceding matters to her and showed her what an utter sad waste of time it was seeking treatment with her- still, I went to pay, and their system was down. The receptionist said she'd call me to charge me (after keeping me standing there for what felt like a lifetime), I asked if she could also send me a statement for my FSA - she said of course and took down my email address. She called me literally a few minutes after I left her office, and I gave her my card number. She charged me, quickly hung up, never sent me the itemized statement, and never answered the phone again (after repeated calls during business hours over several days.) What a terrible practice and terrible practitioner- taking advantage of peoples' vulnerabilities. Shame. read more

Dr Mahmood has been my rheumatologist since I moved to California 10 years ago. I'm glad I've been able to keep her with the different Medicare advantage plans that I've had throughout this time. She is a great combination of expertise, kindness, and speaking plainly to my issues. My main concern is osteoporosis. I have other issues that impact it. So, what I need and what I am able to receive or do are different things. With my specific needs, I never feel like I am getting a cookie cutter treatment from Dr Mahmood. she is very specific and addresses other concerns that appo in my blood work. Recently, I tested low for phosphorus and she retested me a month later to be sure I was on track. All in all, very thankful and would definitely recommend her. read more

Dr Mahmood is a great doctor but I have had THE WORST experience with the office staff. I have been trying to get my records forwarded for three weeks and they can't seem to get this done successfully. When I asked them if they could send to me as multiple doctors have reported not getting anything, the office staff then started to quote additional costs they would need to charge to send me my records. When I called yesterday the person answering the phone stated that they never had any request and never sent it, but when I called today, the person answering the phone stated that the person yeaterday was "new" and incorrect. This shouldn't be so difficult! I appreciate whata wonderful doctor Farah Mahmood is ad she really helped me address my medical issues, and has always been talented and compassionate but.... Her staff seems to be the opposite of helpful and I have am stuck waiting on Medical records so that I can get a Pre-Auth for the Medicine I need. read more

Dr. Mahmood was able to find answers that other Doctors were not able to catch even though it was not related to her specialty. I had visited once before a few years ago and she recalled all the issues I had prior and was able to order tests based on my history and what I was currently experiencing and we found answers! I came to Dr. Mahmood to check out what is going on with me. I let her know about some long term discomfort and inflammation. She had some theories and offered to run test. I appreciate how thorough she was with her bloodwork. It would seem extensive to some, but I don't see any point in doing some tests, having a visit, doing more test, having a visit...she knows what she would eventually look at and offered to do it all upfront. I left the previous review while finding a new doctor. I see the office left a response. Well I would like to say :, Thank you for the response as I just read. I stopped responding or wanting to make an appointment with the office because I don't feel like I'm receiving the care that I really need. My husband felt the same way unfortunately. It's been a journey trying to find a good doctor close in the area. I have found a new rheumatologist and I'm glad that I no longer carry the marker for RA. It's interesting isn't it? I'm glad I did not continue to take the medication that was prescribed. At the time I was told that there is no side effects but later I learned from my primary care that I need to watch out. Dr. Farah Mahmood is the best rheumatologist. She is professional, caring, listens to you, very kind, and is so knowledgeable. In 2017 I was diagnosed with an auto immune disease and saw 2 different rheumatologists before finding her. She truly cares about her patients and treats you with dignity. The others treated me like I was making everything up with my symptoms and issues regardless what my bloodwork shows and proves. Dr Farah Mahmood is a literal angel. Her genuine energy and intellect is unmatched. Having to see different types of specialists for years trying to find out what is going on with my body has been a nightmare, narrowing down to a rheumatologist wasn't much better, despite so many tests and dealing with symptoms to no avail. Dr Mahmood not only was so helpful during our visit, she has done her research on my past tests before I even got there to get a full picture, she took her time explaining what different results meant and how that would mean for my body, and educating me on things in an easy to understand way. I saw Dr. Mahmood due to severe joint pain I was having from July of 2023 to March of 2024. I began to experience the pain starting around a year before that but had significantly more pain a couple months prior and decided to get some tests done to see if I had any conditions causing this. Dr. Mahmood ran tests and diagnosed me with RA. She then put me on more and more medication, and after a couple months, my condition had only gotten worse and the side effects from the medications were brutal. It was clear that the current approach was not working. I then went to two different rheumatologists to get their opinions. I was shocked to find out that both of them said I did not have RA and that the diagnosing procedure of Dr. Mahmood was completely incorrect. I have now been off of the medications for a year. I still suffer from gastro side effects due to the medications I was on. Both of the doctors said I had a rare immunological response to the Covid vaccine and possibly Covid itself, not RA. Both doctors explained how the blood tests, and other young men like myself who had similar blood tests and symptoms they had seen, indicated to them that I was experiencing a reaction to the Covid shots. Dr. Mahmood had previously said that I should continue taking the Covid shots since because I "had RA" I was more susceptible to getting covid. This only worsened my condition to the point of near immobility of my joints. This in addition to all the side effects from the meds caused my life to be a living hell for those months. This doctor does not know what they are doing. Had I not gotten second opinions, I would have been placed on more and more meds. Just terrible. Wasted my time and caused problems I am still dealing with. I recommend Dr. Behnam Khaleghi and Dr. David Kovacs. Both are excellent rheumatologists. To briefly explain one of the MANY parts of the terrible misdiagnosis by Dr. Mahmood, my blood tests indicated only a high IGM score. The majority of people with RA have a high IGM score, IGG score, and IGA score. Furthermore, a classic signal of RA is swelling of the smaller joints in the hands. While most of the joints in my body are inflamed, these were not. Please do not see this doctor. I wrote this review a year later as I wanted to see if my condition did worsen after being off the meds. It has not. Clearly I don't have RA. Please go see another doctor. read more

Dr Mahmood is the most caring and careful Dr. ever! She's so sweet and makes you feel comfortable and welcome. She's always concerned in what meds you are taking and if she prescribed any meds she asked how it makes you feel and if any side effects you may or may not be having. I have been sick for two months. Unsure of what was going on. I've seen an allergist and got my blood done by my primary doctor but Dr. Mahmood took the time to run an extensive blood panel on me. After my results she encouraged me to see her sooner but due to my commute I couldn't come in as soon as she recommended. She took the time out of her day to meet with me virtually and go over my blood panels and put me on medication. Dr. Mahmood refused to call me and go over my lab results after getting blood work done. After seeing her one time as a new patient, her receptionist called to let me know the results were in, but Dr. Mahmoud would only go over the results with me if I paid an additional co pay. I literally couldn't believe it! I've never in my life had a doctor withold lab results from me and demand I pay them more money in order for them to review lab results with me. During my first visit a co pay was collected and I went to get blood work done the same day, so I was appalled to find out she wanted more money from me to give me the results.
