Always on the lookout for good dessert spots, we happened upon this place, and it met our needs perfectly. First, the ambiance: the feeling is casual and welcoming, with a diverse group of customers, from couples on dates, to groups of friends and families. All seemed to be enjoying themselves. The place is organized in groupings. Ice cream is sold in one area, French-style pastries in another, and Middle Eastern desserts in yet another spot. Recommend you take a tour around the establishment before you make your selection. Next, service: the counters were adequately staffed, and we were taken care of promptly and efficiently. Finally, and most importantly, the food. Living in metro Detroit can spoil a diner, as the abundance of Middle Eastern dining options is so large as to be nearly overwhelming. Still, it's good to find a new spot to put into the rotation. Best of all, finding a place to get really good Middle Eastern desserts that doesn't involve a trip to Dearborn is a bonus. We split a piece of lemon cake, which was light, fluffy, and the perfect follow-up to the Indian dinner we had just enjoyed. First time at a Middle Eastern bakery. I got the viral Dubai chocolate. Initially, the first bite was overly sweet for some reason, but when I took another bite it went away. Their new renovation looks amazing! The space is so big and has so much seating. One star only because there was no option to give no stars. I've visited this location twice and will not be returning. The "customer service" here is nonexistent. The girl working here the evening we visited recently was very rude. So rude that we will not be returning anymore. Last time the service was also poor. But the rudeness this time is enough for me not to return. Last time, I waited about 20 minutes before I was helped and when it was finally my turn, the guy was incredibly rushed and rude, didn't ask if I wanted anything written on the cake, so when I told the cashier that I did, she and the guy both looked annoyed. Visiting the area and was told that I need to try this spot! And it was amazing!! I'm a huge fan of baklava so this was a spot we definitely needed to try. They have so many variations of baklava and all were so good! My fan price is the walnut. So, we like to have snacks at the office on Fridays, and have been rotating where we go and what we get over the past few weeks. Some of the engineers wanted Baklava, and told us about this bakery. I had never heard of it before (neither had my coworker) so we placed an order for a tray of Baklava through them for pickup. I was the one who got to pick it up and it's only a few miles away from where I work. Walking in, the place is wonderfully stocked with a ton of different middle eastern desserts! I had to wait a bit, as it was quite busy for a Friday afternoon, but the staff here was quick and efficient. The place is clean and very well organized I must say. To my knowledge, they are a full service bakery that does wedding cakes as well. they had about five out on display and were huge! The price of a tray of Baklava was only $18. I was expecting it to be way more? We got a ton of them as well! Fed several of us here in the office and we still had leftovers. Also, they carry Hashem's Turkish Coffee! He has a place in Dearborn that I have been too, and they will sell you his fabulous coffee here, and make it as well. Overall a very positive experience and I would gladly return in the future. Zero stars if I could. I had the worst experience here. It was recommended to me for a baptism cake I needed. I placed my custom order and when I went to go pick it up, they couldn't find the order. They told me that they misplaced the order ticket and it was never made. I had less than 24 hours to find a new bakery to make my cake for my event. The guy helping did apologize and own up to it. They tried to make it right by giving me a tiny box of baklava. Needless to say, this wasn't enough for me to ever trust them again and I hope you are extra careful if you use this bakery for your cake needs. This was seriously one of the best - and I'm not saying that lightly - desserts place ever! I'm so happy I tried this place. The variety of sweets and smells is border line criminal! Wow! Wow! I tried their Biscoff Crepe. It was the tastiest crepe I honestly ever had. The taste is still in my mouth hours after. If you come here, I definitely reccomend it. My other sweet was the Nutella Kunafa. It was also delicious. For me, it was way too chocoatey for what I like but i still enjoyed it a lot. And if you love that kind of chocolate on chocolate heavy taste you will enjoy this for sure. An adventure in middle eastern treats! This place is on my top 5 places to go for desserts. The offer everything from baklava (too many varieties to count, seriously), to cakes, cookies, macarons, ice cream and countless other beautiful baked goodies I've never seen before! Some are syrup soaked (probably some with rose water), some are pistachio, walnut or other nut laden, just so decadent and oooh eliciting. I've never seen this variety in my life. Then there are the savory cases. Baked, not fried masses of incredibly yummy goods! Feta, spinach, potato, meat and more fillings or toppings. Been here about 4 or 5 times, because it was closest sweet place to an old job... and I will tell you - each time I seen.. - the absolute worst customer service on earth. I even watched them mistreat a lady in front of me just because she wasn't middle eastern, they let a middle eastern cut her in line. That was really awkward. Farhat sweets has lost a very loyal customer. I got my wedding cake from here and almost every birthday cake and special event from here for the past 4 years. Recently I bought two Father's Day cakes at $80/ea. I was told they were vanilla with custard and pistachio but after cutting into both we found both were chocolate and no one ate them. On top of that they were very sloppily made. I called to discuss this privately with them but was met with hostility, rudeness and not even a hint of an apology or remorse. I was so excited to find this place! My boyfriend is from Turkey and we had been searching for places with Turkish baklava. Turns out lots of places call their baklava "Turkish baklava". We had almost lost hope until we drove by Farhat Sweets. We went in and my boyfriend was so excited because he said things looked more traditional than the past bakeries. We obviously got the Turkish baklava and also these fried balls(I don't remember the name). When I tell you that this baklava put all of the other ones I've tried to shame. I didn't feel welcome or safe. Not only did the man behind the counter not wear his mask properly, he pushed us off as if we weren't paying customers. We know it's the holidays, we know it's busy (but no one was limiting the number of people inside). But also, our time isn't less valuable than yours. We went in to inquire about cake flavors and try a few desserts and such, and instead of providing a reasonable response, we were brushed off rudely without even a kind explanation that they were busy and need to set an appointment to discuss those things.
