I'm always up for trying new places. Especially when it comes to craft beer. That part was fine. if you like craft beer you will find something you like. Still, I'm landing 50/50 on this place. Here's why. For starters other than already knowing it was there and getting a recommendation from someone else, there is no signage. The words Farm A Sea do not appear anywhere that I could see. Not outside. Not even inside. Also the signs outside that have arrows that point to "Restaurant" point towards each other. I drove around the building twice and had to assume that there was an entrance inside the lobby of the hotel somewhere. Also its not kid friendly. Not in that there is any kind of element that is detrimental to kids. They just don't have a specific kids menu. I'm not even sure they have booster seats. We just got lucky that mac & cheese was a dinner special. We ordered our meals and the Pork Belly as an app. After waiting entirely too long for an app to come out our dinners arrived. The waitress forgot to put in the order for the app. Which I asked her to bring anyway. I regretted that later. The mac & cheese was actually really really good. It had some kind of meat, maybe hamburger in it so it was kind of like a helper type deal. The 4 year old liked it, the 9 year old and I finished it off. My oldest had the wings from the app menu. Nice chili sauce. The drums were really good. However the actual wings were really fatty. Fatty to the point of just mush. Or they were undercooked. Not sure which. For my main I had the sausage flat bread. Which was cold. Not room temp. Cold. Especially compared to the mac and the wings. It was also under seasoned. I was willing to forgive all of this had the late app pork belly been good. That was the worst. I have had pork belly many places. I understand its 50% fat, 50% meat. But it should be even with meat on one side and fat on the other. Not 50% meat pieces and 50% fat pieces. Im not even sure they used the right cut of meat. It wasn't even salty or pull apart like the meat should be. If you want to know what Pork Belly should be like... go to 8th & Union in Wilmington and get the fried rice. Awesome. So with that I stand 50/50. This place has no foot traffic and no signage. The location already failed as a hotel once before the renovation. So If they cant work on being consistent I don't see it lasting. I may or may not go back. read more

I grew up and live nearby and watched as this long-uninhabited hotel finally got a make-over. I was excited when I saw a nice bistro with craft beer was opening inside. After receiving some coupons in the mail, I finally decided to check the place out with my fiancee. Our server was friendly and helpful, we actually were the only two in the restaurant for most of our meal. We loved the way the place is decorated. We ordered the craft beers that were on special for $3, an appetizer, and two entrees (the chicken and the salmon). All of the food was delicious, was served in a reasonable amount of time, and the presentation was great. As far as the atmosphere, service, and food / drink goes, our experience was great. The reason I'm giving only three stars is due to the end of the meal. We intended to use the previously mentioned coupons to get a free appetizer and to receive $15 off our $40+ food order. We took the time to read all the fine print, of which there was none suggesting we couldn't use both coupons. After taking our bill for payment, our server came back to tell us we could only use one coupon; she went on to say that they had this happen previously with other customers (using the same coupons) and that the manager said only one could be used. I explained how there was no such wording on the coupon page, but she said there wasn't much she could do. Knowing it wasn't her fault, there wasn't much else we could do other than pay and leave. Again, other than the issues with the coupons, we had a great experience. I would probably hesitate to go back though, based on how the situation was handled. Had we known ahead of time, we wouldn't have ordered the appetizer or the two expensive entrees. Instead, we left having spent $15 more than we wanted to. It certainly could have been preempted, or the server could have honored our request since the "one coupon per visit" limit was not specified. read more

I've passed by this restaurant to many times to count. I had about an hour to kill and despite the reviews I decided to give it a try. Bartenders were friendly and gave me the menu quickly. I asked what they recommend in the way of a sandwich and he recommended the turkey or the burger. I ordered the burger without lettuce and tomato. When I'm having a burger at someplace I haven't eaten at before I want to taste the quality of the beef, not the salad. I asked for ketchup, mustard and mayo on the side. The burger came out with fries that were nicely cooked and not over salted. The lack of salt was also present on the burger...but not in a good way. A little salt on each side prior to cooking probably would have made for a nice crust instead of the blah brown color that came out. It was cooked medium as ordered but was really flavorless. The mayo didn't arrive with the burger so I ate the fries first while I waited for the mayo. After about 10 minutes the bartender came back from what I assume was a frantic search but to no avail. They had no mayo. How do you not have mayo at a restaurant? This restaurant disappointed. It's a nice looking space but I think they need someone to revitalize the menu and create some excitement. read more

What an amazing and positive surprise. Stopped in completely randomly on a long work trip with a co-worker, and we could not have been more pleased. Food was very good, atmosphere was casual and just what we needed. Drinks were strong. Staff was amazingly friendly. But the most incredible thing above all was the Wednesday night guitar playing musician. Three chords in on the first song, my co-worker and I looked at other and agreedd this guy is amazing. Totally kept us there an extra hour, and one of the best one man and a guitar performances I've ever seen, including a very small James Taylor concert I went to. read more

The bar was empty when I came in here. It is part of the hotel and I didn't want to go further afield as it was raining. I had a good IPA and they had a good beer selection. The food menu looked appealing so I figured I'd try a couple of things from the menu. I had the beet salad which was terrible. It was a good size but the goat cheese was all wet and sloppy at the bottom of the salad, drowned in dressing. Very off putting. For an entree I had pork with mash potato and asparagus. This was just ok. Nothing spectacular. It was supposed to be chili rubbed but there was zero spice in it and overall very disappointing. A fabulous find after a long drive north from Florida. It's located in the 4-Point Sheraton hotel, Food was delicious and made fresh. I actually mentioned to the waitress how I had wished it was Saturday so I could order their Saturday special Pot Pie. She told she could check with the kitchen and if they had all the ingredients, they could make me a Pot Pie. And so they did, absolutely fabulous. Farm to table food is not an exaggeration! Add some live music and happy hour wine and I was feeling happy, happy. Not to mention I got the last room available and the hotel and staff all around simply the best. Congratulations! This was the worst meal I was ever served. I say served because after three bites I couldn't take it anymore. There was nothing farm to fork about my meal. I could taste your freezer in my crinkle cut fries that were either baked or microwaved. My bun was burnt, burger was burnt even the tomato had no flavor. Oh yeah, I had some bbq sauce to try and make it through, but I found that is even bland. My wife had a flatbread that was clearly microwaved and not even cooked all the way. It was just wet and rubbery. Is there even a manager or a chef on staff? Someone should be checking these meals before the even leave the kitchen. It's called quality control. You should be ashamed to blatenly rip people off. You can serve all the trash you want, but don't tell me and other that it is fresh or from a farm. Maybe you should go have a meal at Ulysses to see the kind of restaurant your trying to emulate. To help make this the worst meal I was ever served was the non existent staff. Terrible food, terrible service, avoid!!!! We arrived at this restaurant at 5pm on a saturday. There was NO ONE THERE TO GREET US, no staff in sight. We were confused and sat down and waited for ten minutes for some guy to show up and say hello. Really? It's saturday night and this is your idea of service? My husband and I ordered two craft beers while we looked at the menu, and they simply handed us the bottle, where EVERYONE else who arrived and ordered beer in the place received a glass, whether they ordered bottled or draft beer. We weren't even sitting at the bar, we were there for dinner. Trust me, we were paying attention. Who wants to drink a craft beer right out of a bottle from somewhere that's supposed to be a CRAFTHOUSE, not a frat house. I guess they didn't think we were good enough for a glass at any point. Secondly, I ordered the fungi and formaggio flatbread. It was NOT fresh, it was either frozen or refrigerated and they reheated it, or the chef has no idea what a flatbread should be like. It was SO rubbery, bendy, and was absolutely terrible. I was utterly disappointed and disgusted at how they would think it was okay to serve that. My husband ordered a burger and it was SO overcooked that it was like eating a tire. I didn't believe him completely at first and when I tried it myself, it was flavorless and SO chewy, literally like rubber, not at all like the juicy delicious burger he thought he was going to get. They didnt even ask him when they took his order how he wanted it cooked, seriously? And farm to table, yeah right. HIs fries were crinkle cut fries straight out of the freezer. There was a lot of hype surrounding this place because it's supposed to be "farm to table" and "fresh", well, the food was not fresh, most of it was not from a farm, and for a crafthouse to serve JUST US the beer right out of the bottles like we're kids in our 20's. Just a heads up guys, a few friends and I stopped in there today (4-23-15) for the happy hour special of $3 craft bottles and paid with my debit card. That was the good part, the bad part is if you use a debit card for your purchase they will put at $100 hold on your account. Yes, you read that right folks they will hold $100 of your money if you choose to pay by debit/credit and they do not notify you of this. So beware, and pay with cash if you plan on going. I have been coming here since this placed opened a little over a year ago. We have had a really great time every other time that I have been at this establishment. The beer is awesome and the staff was very friendly untill this evening. My girlfriend and I have worked in the business for over half of our lives. Tonight she wanted to go to the farm and sea for our Friday night date. We sat at the bar for over ten minutes and were ignored by a bartender that clearly couldn't handle a 10 X 10 ft bar. We never walk out of a place except for tonight. A manager was not present to pull him out of the weeds or jungle as I would call it. Very disappointed to have someone hand us menus then be ignored as he walks by us and serves other customers multiple times. You do not know who you are serving and I thought I should be treated like I was staying at your establishment. If you can not serve the people at your bar in a timely manor then close down. read more

I went back and forth between a 3 and 4 star rating. I have been twice. The first time I went by myself. I sat at the bar, had a delicious chicken sandwich and mixed drink. The vibe was cool and bartender was professional. The second time was for dinner with my partner and adult son. The same bartender was there, again professional. I had the same chicken sandwich, yes, it was that good. My son had mac and cheese appetizer and Hangar Steak for dinner with asparagus. The appetizer was tasty with different cheese than normal which we all liked. His steak and veggies were also great. My partner's Pulled Pork was just okay. He thought it would be PULLED PORK. Instead, it was chunks of pork. On a scale of 1-10, he gave it a 6. We also had Chocolate Lava Cake. Please, please order this!!!! Yummy!!!! Here are the things that made me want to give it a 3 star rating. Both times I was there, it was freezing. Like REALLY cold. The bartender did try and adjust the fans. There is a female waitress or staff person, not sure what she does but she should not be in the service field. I've never seen her smile and when she brought out dessert, there was nothing said. Not ENJOY or HERE YA GO!! The place did get bombarded with guests visiting the bar which made service slow. Wine menu was a little disappointing. Overall I would have given at least 3 stars, had it not been for the $100 hold they placed on my account for a $13 tab. I regard myself as not a very picky eater, as does my wife. We don't usually complain about much, but this date night was a disaster! We came to this restaurant at 6 on a Friday night. There was nobody to greet us, so we sat ourselves. We didn't get any water, or even a hello for at least 15 minutes. We saw a table of 2 and 4 leave because they were waiting so long. We were literally about to leave when we got service. We got our drinks rather fast considering the lack of wait staff. I got the pork chop and my wife got the half of a chicken. My pork chop was the size of a filet mignon and had some mashed potatoes on the side with some beets on top. Kind of expensive at $20, but rather good. My wife's chicken came out hot, but she cut into the drumstick and it bled all over her plate. The waiter came back and apologized and took her plate promptly. He brought back another chicken about 10 minutes later and there wasn't as much blood, but it was still rather bloody. We got our check and left. As we were leaving we overheard the waiter telling another party that they're drinks didn't apply to the happy hour because they weren't sitting at the bar. They said they were not told that was the case. He said I asked you if you were here for the happy hour or for dinner. This place has serious potential, the food I had was good, unfortunately, this experience ruined it for both of us. The beer is decently priced and there is diverse selection.
