    Good beer garden

What I liked: Easy off the main highways, and it shared the parking lot with the Holiday Inn. I stayed at. - They have a good craft beer selection. - They have a nice outdoor patio.

Stopped in on a Saturday & sat at the bar. My hubby & I ordered pretzels, boneless wings, and chili. Plus a few drinks. All were good. Our bartender was pleasant as well.

Taco Tuesday - one fish, one chili something and one chicken curry

Stopped by because I was looking for something close to 95 while traveling south. Some interesting tacos for taco Tuesdays ( supposedly changes every week ). Dirty kettle chips were great and nice full flavorful tacos at $5 each. Also had a nice amber beer and I think it's really cool that they serve a 10oz option.

Two for late lunch on a Friday sat at the bar with plenty of space really enjoyed the beer selection and the tacos were great although a little spicy

Here's proof of my hour wait take out order. Check the tapes.

Food great. Servers great. Bartender who worked 9.30 on 01.17 is known by my company and my old company to be rude and dismissive of black people. Fact. I've attempted to come her multiple times with or without people and sit at the bar to have a meal or order together. I always tip at least 20% (even when she truly doesn't deserve it). I have never gotten a coaster with my drink. I have never been greeted first or with a smile. I see her greet and speak to every other party differently. This last instance, I left the gym and stopped here after not coming back here for ALMOST A YEAR because of her horrible attitude towards me that's completely unwarranted. I wanted a salad and mash potatoes to go and have a beer at the bar. The food of people all around me came out upwards of 20 minutes before I got my SALAD AND SIDE. She either didn't ring it in or out wanted it to sit considering the mash potatoes were COLD when I checked in my car. I recommend management, check the cameras, check my ticket - I barely spoke to her. I tried to smile and converse to place my drink order but she had already ignored me and moved onto another guest before I could say anything before doubling back. I'll continue to come and sit at tables but I recommend any non-male people of color to avoid the bar here.

This carrot bisque was stunning! Such depth of flavor!

My family is in town for a college tour. We were looking for a restaurant. Two Stones Pub is literally in the parking lot of the hotel we're staying in. Ended up being a fantastic coincidence. We were seated right away and the restaurant filled in soon thereafter. Our waitress was very nice and dealt with all of my questions professionally. We sat at a nice spacious high top. We shared delicious bbq boneless wings and pretzels for appetizers. I also had a wonderful carrot bisque from the specials menu. The depth of flavor in the bisque was impressive. I selected the Spring Risotto for an entree. Believe me, I was tempted by the range of burgers but ended up tremendously happy with the risotto. The texture was perfect, the pea flavor was excellent, nicely loaded up with ham, and topped with a nice portion of burrata. Really an awesome entree! Glad we ended up at Two Stone Pub!

Went here for dinner and their happy hour deals are so good!! Draft beers for $2-$4 and certain snacks or small dishes for $5 - $8. What a steal!! I got the nachos and two fish tacos. Everything was super flavorful and filling. Great time and quick service at the bar!!

    Super delicious and enormous cheeseboard.

Nice big menu with lots of delicious options, and lots of good local(ish) beers to get your Happy Hour or weekend started. Friend and I opted to try a bunch of different appetizers so we could sample more of the menu. Our eyes were bigger than our stomachs, but we got to try two of the tacos -- the Carolina pulled pork was delicious and easily our favorite. The Mexicali chorizo was just a little dried out, even though the corn and bean salsa it was topped with was delicious. We devoured our hot and spicy cheese fries -- that queso blanco is just *chefs kiss* -- but left enough room to give the cheeseboard a try. It seemed a little pricey at $25 but when we saw the size of the whole thing, we understood. The meats were nothing to write home about, but every cheese we tried was more delicious than the last, and it paired so well with the jam and honey that we were very happy campers. We somehow managed to enjoy some local brews in addition to all that food - I'd never tried Big Oyster before (a super smooth stout), and the two Two Stones brews I tried were all decent - Up and Out IPA was as juicy as advertised and Cold Cock IPA was pretty crushable. Atmosphere was crowded but friendly, and service was quick and attentive. Will definitely be adding this spot to my rotation when I'm in town.

Not surprising, as on holiday weekends most students go home so the town isn't crowded like a usual week. Service was friendly, fast and attentive. Everyone's meals were very good, except for mine. I made a bad choice. Skip the hot honey chicken over donuts brunch item. Its nothing more than 3 chicken fingers over what tasted like a couple of dry entemann's donuts. (Missed opportunity..theres a greta bakery across the street..should get fresh glazed donuts from them. The donuts ruined the dish. Other meals were very good. Easter quiche special with hollandaise sauce and fried potatoes was delicious, although the size of quiche slices was kind of small. Burrata avocado toast was great, and so was their cheese omelette. It was perfect dining for us as we didn't want a heavy, upscale meal at 1:30 in the afternoon. Will definitely come back next time we are in town for dinner and drinks.

But awesome all the same! For how busy they were, the server was very attentive and very accommodating as we were yapping away and constantly not ready with our orders so kuddos for the team and putting up with us! I love the mystery beer concept, its not great beer, but being from DC at like $2 a can, I am not passing that up, ever. And a cheap beer with a burger is the perfect combo! On to the burger... I have heard that this is a great burger... and I have to conclude that I agree though it is reminiscent of a Big Mac - just way better ingredients - it has to be the sauce they put on it... Anyway, nice size patty, good amount of toppings and a quality bun (not too soft, not too thick, bread soaks up some of the juices but doesn't fall apart). The mussels were quite excellent as well. It was a Thai curry broth the night we were there and it was drinkable, like soup... we did ask for extra bread... enough said. I am going to take a minute too and praise their spirit free cocktails. THIS IS HOW THEY SHOULD BE MADE. They used bitters, tonics, etc to craft something that tasted like a cocktail but without alcohol which means they were not sickly sugary concoctions, but expertly crafted beverages. Just really great options. All that said though, their espresso martini was one of the worst I have had. Just skip that.

Joel is one of THE BEST bartenders, anywhere, ever. I've been many places on extended stays and even after 4-5 visits, the same bartender has no clue who you are. Not Joel. Friendly, personable, remembered my name AND drink. Great bartender. He's 5 stars. Or more. Now: 5 meals in two weeks, three in the bar and two in the room. And full disclosure: former chef. And kind of a food snob/foodie. First one in the room: chicken Caesar and soup of the day (in this case, tomato Basil). Solid enough Caesar. Soup: something lumpy in it (sometimes you add Parmesan for a richness. It felt like it was that which was added and not puréed so it was lumpy and chewy. Decent flavor though). My big problem? You call me at my room, tell me my order is ready, I get back to the room and no plastic ware? Are they thinking I'm eating caesar and soup with my hands? Second meal, in the bar: crab cake sandwich and fries. Again, former chef (spoiler alert for non-chefs: "seasoning" means salt and pepper. Spice is everything else.) so the bland pepper/spice fries desperately need some salt even the menu says "seasoned fries". Ditto the crab cake. Not much flavor. Not horrible, just bland. Third meal, in the bar: burger (cow tipper) and fries. Same bland fries but my Pittsburgh rare burger? Tasty. And perfectly cooked. And juicy and damn! Well balanced and a toasty bun and just terrific all around. Fourth meal, in the bar: chicken Marsala. Terrific. Authentic. Sweet and saucy and perfect like a great Marsala. The mashed and broccolini were solid as well. Fifth meal, in my room: the crispy brussel sprouts and truffle fries. Fries are solid, probably topped with the same Parmesan I found in lumps in my soup the week before, and good dousing of truffle salt. Well thought out. The sprouts are hot, and well seasoned and delicious. But (didn't I learn to look in my bag???) I get back to my room (where they KNOW I am because they called me) and NO PLASTICWARE. I get (maybe) eating the fries with my fingers, but the sprouts? Overall: food/takeout service is a 2.5-3.5. Bartender Joel is a 5.0. So let's call it a 4.0 overall. And improve the takeout-and definitely keep Joel.

On one hand I want to try again for dinner but for the price, I'm not sure it's worth it. Pros: Amazing service - very attentive server(s); we had one in training/shadowing and she was just as good as our primary server, offering refills, clearing plates, overall greet banter Cocktails are fantastic - had the Minnie Ripperton and loved it - creamy yet refreshing and bright which is a tough combo to achieve Cons: Hidden entrance - after circling what looked like an abandoned building 2x we finally figured out the entrance was in the backy and down a set of stairs. I now understand the "speakeasy vibe" but the clutter in the front made the building look abandoned or under construction; not a great start to the experience for us Food service - the other couple we were dining with got their entrees about 10 minutes before ours and we were some of the first orders & diners of the day. Usually you might hold the whole table or refire some of the dishes so it all comes out at the same time. They finished theirs before we even got our to start, making it a strange eating experience Small print menu - with the low light of the speakeasy, the menu had the teeeeniest print I've ever seen making it very difficult to read the menu options. We also didn't realize that the menu changes/is seasonal (not called out on the website) so many of the items we had wanted to try were not an available option. I love a menu that changes but hope it's indicated on the website (aka: sample menu, subject to seasonal change) Hit-n-miss: Fried chicken Benedict- huge portions, amazing biscuits and perfectly poached (but unseasoned?) eggs. I don't know if the hollandaise soaked into the fried chicken or never existed at all - and that's the thing you want with a Benedict. If it existed, it never reached the biscuits because while they were good, but were completely dry Shrimp and grits - perfectly cooked, great consistency, but very under-seasoned Water - just an observation and maybe it's just the local tap water flavor but it tasted off or as off the soap hadn't been washed from the glasses Pro Tip: be aware of the automatic gratuity in some circumstances; if you don't know, check the website before your meal!
