This place gets a lot of hype so I had high expectations. The burger was just okay. There wasn't anything special about it. I was annoyed that the burger came out cold but it took so long for the food to be made that I didn't bother mentioning it. The restaurant was small and a little bit dirty. I wouldn't bother going back here when I can get a better burger elsewhere.

It was my first time trying this new(ish) spot in Point Loma and let me say it did not disappoint! It's basically a better for you version of In-N-Out (ironically there's one right across the street). Below are a few notables from my trip. It's a straight forward menu with three main options or you can build your own! I got the BYO burger bowl and my hubby got a BYO double. I got the original spread on the side, I highly suggest it because they give you a large side that you can also use for dipping your fries in! The OG sauce is pretty unreal. Also, don't skip the grilled onions. We also ordered the Loaded Fries, wow. The quality of fry itself was the best I've ever had (big fry fan over here) and I attribute a lot of that to the fact they cook them in beef tallo instead of oil. Also the ketchup packets are organic!! Next time I'm going to get plain fries because they are just too good on their own. We sat at the counter inside, which is a cute spot if you can grab a seat. One big shout out I want to give is to the kitchen staff! They were cranking out meals but still maintained quality. We beat the rush, but shortly after we ordered they had a line out the door. Everyone was helpful and friendly which added to the good experience. Overall, amazing burger spot and a must try. I didn't have room for one of their real ice cream shakes with house made strawberry puree, but you best believe it's on my list for next time! It has all the flavor with none of the bad stuff so you feel full but not gross leaving! I will definitely be back.

Arguably one of the best burgers I've ever had. Visiting from DC this is pretty much a must have for me.

A good find!!! We pulled right into the parking lot and found a space with ease. They have bench style seating. You can order from a kiosk or cashier. It appears that everything is organic. I love it! It was sooooo good! It didn't take long to receive our orders. FRESHLY MADE and delicious! My family went back without me a few days later when I couldn't make it back out due to work and now I am jealous!

Love supporting local, especially when most things are made in-house and it's good for the body too! When we got our burgers and fries, you can smell the beef and it just hit all the senses: look, taste, smell... I don't even like cheese but I didn't mind it. Their fries are also very good and I also got their housemade ranch and that was so tasty too. Their large fries is good for two people to share. Wish I had room for their shakes... next time!

The best smash burger in San Diego. If you look at the back of everything you buy at the grocery store to make sure you're not eating poison, this is the place to go. The wait is sometime a little longer, but it's always worth it. Amazing burgers and good service.

A welcome treat to Point Loma with fresh ingredients and a simple menu, Farm To Smash is just the place to satisfy that craving for handmade burgers you've been looking for. They use quality ingredients and not the artificial flavors we're so used to so you can actually taste what you're eating. The burgers are meaty and delicious, the fries are cooked in beef tallow so they have that savory delicious flavor, and the shakes actually taste like real chocolate. The staff were all super friendly and efficient. The inside has seating along the walls with large wooden tables and a small bar seating are just in front of the entrance. Don't pass up grabbing an agave lemonade because they are the perfect amount of tart freshness without being overly sweet like so many others. Definitely a place worth checking out.

Farm to Smash is located in an unassuming strip mall and from the outside you wouldn't know what people are lining up for. It was actually a slower day (Saturday around 4pm) according to the worker we talked to so we didn't have to wait too long at all. They have a self serve kiosk to order, as well as a worker at the register. I decided to order the flamin' smash and beef tallow fries. I really enjoyed the jalapenos and spread on the burger. It was also crispy like a smash should be. Fries were good as well. Service is fast for how busy they are, the burgers and fries keep flying out of the kitchen!

    * Super sweet customer service * Tasty flavorful food * Casual chill ambiance Came to try Smashburger! Because I loved that they don't use seed oils or corn oils They cook in beef tallow and use an avocado oil based spread made in house which I thought was pretty awesome. Customer service was great Tammy was so helpful, kind, and friendly We ordered the Flamin Smash Burger, a build your own burger, and loaded fries. Let me tell you... this place did not disappoint It was like an explosion of flavors! The jalapeños had the perfect spicy kick where you could still enjoy the flavor while getting that fiery little kick The fries were absolutely tasty and the house sauce was sooo good. If you're in the area and craving some good quality burgers, definitely give this spot a try!

Totally good burgers and fries! Flavor was wonderful, and it can't get any fresher than ground beef ground at site. Sauces must be tried. Friendly people.

Craving a smash burger, I made the trek from east county. Not deterred by the line and how busy it was... I placed my order at 7:56pm and received my food at 8:16pm. For a Friday night, that was way better than expected. They had a huge party in front of me and you could watch the cooks and line workers hustle through the whole thing. Loved it. I ordered a BYO double with lettuce, my partner ordered the flamin smash. We both got plain fries and loaded fries. Between all of it.. gooooodnesssss. Beyond amazing. The loaded fries are plain in theory but really good in taste. Thank you to the tallow trend gods, these fries were delicious. The burger patties..... wow. Crispy as heck and just as flavorful. I should've gotten a triple in all honesty. It was such a beautiful burger, coming from someone who doesn't really crave a burger that often. I'd definitely make my way back.

AMAZING!! First time at this location. I've been to their Escondido location once before (great experience). My son has come home to visit (military) & he was in the mood for some good burgers..... Say less!! Brought him to this location. Just as amazing as their Escondido spot! Staff was very friendly. Food was hot and tasty. Chill vibes and great music. He was highly impressed. My mama heart was so happy to see such a BIG smile on his face. This is a must try spot if you want quality burgers, fries & shakes!! They are seed oil free and everything is FRESH. What we ordered: * Garlic Mushroom Triple * Garlic Muhammad Single * Large Fries * Vanilla Shake w/ Strawberry Puree #DiningWithTheAndersons #SmashBurgers #SanDiego #FarmToSmash #YummyGoodness

Onion rings were ok. Nothing to rave about honestly. The seasoning on it made them seem nicer but I think it just took away from a good ol fashioned onion rings, they also added a seasoning to the ranch to pair with the onion ring and I wasn't a huge fan. Next time I definitely want to try a different burger and opt for the elote fries or no fries at all. I'm just happy to finally be able to cross this place off my list of must tries, lol. Everything is fresh, cooked to perfection, and explained very well when brought to the table. I forgot the name of the burger I tried, but it was chicken based that was like a curry infused (it was yellow) and I thought it was a nice edition to the menu. Its San Diego time again!…read more I have been to the original Hodad's in Ocean Beach, so during a staycay in the San Diego Gaslamp, I said I gotta hit up this location on Broadway. The portions are big and the quality of the food is very good. The breading and seasoning on the chicken was tasty AF. Secondarily, the burgers are 1/4 lb and a single is plenty for a normal person. Lastly, the rings were thicc and GBD. Unfortunately, we sat in traffic for 3 hrs from OC, when it normally takes 1 1/2 hrs: We were really hungry, and Hodads met our needs. Regarding the ambiance, its a bit grunge but np for me. The name has a whole lot of nostalgia in SD. The service was friendly & warm. Our food came out quickly. The only downside was the chicken & rings needed some kinda sauce, but otherwise everything else was great. Would def return the next time I am in the area.

Pros: I got the half-pound burger with fries and it was really good overall. The burger was super juicy, well-cooked, and had that classic hearty, satisfying taste you want from a solid burger spot. The portion size was generous, especially with the half-pound patty, and the fries were a great side to round out the meal. The location in Pacific Beach is also a big plus. It's in a great area with lots going on, so it's easy to grab food and walk around afterward or make it part of a beach day. The overall vibe of the spot feels casual and fitting for PB--nothing overly fancy, just good comfort food done right. Cons: Since it's in a busy beach area, parking and crowds can be a bit of a challenge depending on the time you go. It's more of a casual grab-and-go or quick dine-in spot, so don't expect a sit-down restaurant experience with a lot of space or quiet seating. During peak beach hours, it can also get pretty busy. Verdict: Overall, Rocky's Burgers is a great spot in Pacific Beach if you're craving a juicy, satisfying burger in a fun beachside area. The half-pound burger and fries hit the spot, and it's a solid choice for a casual meal before or after hanging out in PB.
