Here on a business trip. Checked out the Public Market (aka Fancy Food Court) on night #1 to give everybody in the group a chance to get whatever they wanted. I have gone back here every night since (3 nights and counting)! Food is high quality... tasty... better in many ways than sit-down churrascarías that cost 5 times as much. And even the "service" is rad. It's just an "order from a kiosk and wait a few minutes" place but the dude let me holler little requests (super rare, please! & more chimichurri please!). We really wanted to like this place because we actually had a couple good experiences before, which is why we kept coming back with our family. Unfortunately the inconsistency became too much to ignore. Out of 5 visits, 3 were disappointing. Our most recent visit was our last. We spent over $80 for 2 adults and 2 kids, and the ribs were almost entirely fat with very little edible meat. The sampler meats were also extremely chewy with huge tough pieces that even adults struggled to eat, let alone children. More than half the food ended up thrown away. What's frustrating is that when the food is good, it's actually good. But the quality varies too much visit to visit, especially for the price point. The IG guy got me good! Late night scrolling, food always floods my feed! Good and bad, it's late night and now I'm starving! All this yumminess just tortures me until I can try it on the weekend. I saw this steak sandwich and I had to try it! It was Asado Gaucho's anniversary sandwich - a Steak & Frites sandwich ($25)! The hubs wanted something different so we also got the Skirt steak burrito ($18). Both were so good! The Steak Frites sandwich was massive, with plenty of steak covered in chimichurri, provolone and loaded up with steak cut fries. The bread was perfectly toasted, steak tender and fries super crispy! The Skirt steak burrito was ooey gooey delicious, with onions, peppers, avocado and cheese melted inside and out. Located in the Liberty Station market, this is right by open seating area. Staff quick and efficient, they got through a long line of customers waiting to order. They have a small selection of drinks - Coke, Ginger ale, San Pelligrino options and bottled water. A great addition to the Liberty Station Market. Asado Gaucho serves mostly Argentine-style sandwiches (mostly beef). We ordered the Wagyu Chimichurri Tri-tip sandwich, and it was tasty with nice soft bread. They usually have long lines but move pretty fast. Out of town traveler and I have to say the food here was quite delicious the steaks were very tender and flavorful. I had the platter which had 3 different styles of dishes for one meal. I hate to give them a bad review because after seeing so many pictures and great reviews, it was a huge let down. We ordered the chimichurri tri-tip sandwhich, the French fries with gaucho sauce, & the gaucho sampler. First of all, they offer discounts if you leave them a 5-star review. That should've been my first red flag. Second, the portion was laughable. The meat portion of the sandwhich was really sad. Every bite I took was 80% bread. Also, the choice of the bread was terrible. It was not good. The sandwhich would've been much better if they chose a better bread & added much more meat. I thought it was just me & it might have been a bad day with someone new on the front line, however I've had friends who also tried this spot & said the same thing. I felt seen. The gaucho sampler was not bad, but again it also didn't have much meat. The fries were ok, nothing spectacular and was very mid with an underwhelming sauce. I wish we would've seen yelp instead of the video online. We payed $27 for one sandwich that was promised to be "the best thing in liberty station." It was not. The bread was too hard, probably a little stale. The fries were almost cold, regular frozen fries you can get at a grocery store and there was no sauce. The decor immediately caught my eye, and seeing all the amazing sandwiches people were eating around me made it impossible not to stop. Asada Gaucho has taken over one of the central area stalls at the Liberty Public Market in Point Loma. I believe the business operates a catering service too. They specialize in Argentinian cuisine featuring fire grilled cuts of meat served as sandwiches or plates. The offerings were not cheap as the sandwiches (8) were all $15.99 and up while the plates (2) were more than $25 each. Unlike other times, there was no line at the service counter when I arrived. From the list of sandwiches, I chose the Reverse-Seared Picanha ($17.99). Small pieces of grilled picanha were topped with gaucho sauce, brie, honey, and arugula inside two halves of flatbread that were sliced in half diagonally. My food was ready in about 15 minutes and placed in a cardboard takeout container. The size of the sandwich was decent. The picanha was cooked to the appropriate degree of doneness. I do wish the pieces of meat were larger as they fell out when I picked up one half to take a bite. The peppery flavor of the arugula was a nice choice for greens. Maybe a small side could have been added for the price as just the sandwich alone was insufficient. read more

Went here on a busy night and waited ~15 min for our food, though they did tell us expected wait time so we were able to walk around and come back. Staff was friendly, and food was good. The gaucho sampler ($29.99) was good but not great. I would say it was tasty and I loved that we could try 3 different types of steaks but the flavor fell slightly short of my expectations. This was a terrible food experience. The amount of oil in the food was shocking. As shown in the photos, there was a literal puddle of oil left behind. The fries were completely soaked, and the sandwich was dripping with grease, making it impossible to eat. I only managed to eat a small amount, and it made me vomit minutes later.
