There is no bathroom downstairs so you would have to go upstairs for the restrooms The restaurant was offering a $70 prefix menu, which honestly did not feel worth the cost. For that price, you only received soup or salad, an entrée, and dessert. I really think an appetizer should have been included considering the price point, especially for a special occasion like Mother's Day. We were seated downstairs near the kitchen, and it was extremely warm and uncomfortable down there during the meal. On a positive note, the service itself was fairly quick, and our waiter was very attentive and friendly, which was appreciated. Overall though, the atmosphere, organization, and value for the money left us disappointed. This did not include drinks and automatic gratuity was included in the bill since we had a party of 6.

I remembered how much I enjoyed the space the first time, and this visit reminded me why. The venue is beautifully decorated with a clean, modern aesthetic that instantly creates a calming and relaxing atmosphere. It also always smells amazing, which adds to the overall experience. The staff has been friendly and welcoming on both of my visits, making it easy to feel comfortable as soon as you walk in. The open layout and abundance of natural light make it a great setting. The balance between the orchestra and the cast was better than previous shows. The orchestra was larger than with other shows and they did a great job as well. Production is well worth seeing. The shows they put up are spectacular. The local actors grace the stage with some modern contemporary scripts.... Such as the one I watched recently "curious incident of the dog at in the night time" (Tony winner - best play). If you are interested in getting on stage behind the curtains you can attend one of their classes. The tickets usually are between $20-$25 and can be obtained online for a small fee or at the box office on the day of the show. The seating chart is on their website. It gets a bit tricky to be able to see the stage if you get seats too far back. Plenty parking available on site.

The parking was incredibly convenient and directions to the Boathouse itself were very clear. We did have a small spot of difficulty finding the door to go to the upper level however. People mingled at standing tables and around the benches on the upper deck (and there were a respectable number of benches, which isn't often the case). Inside the event space were polished wooden floors and high ceilings. A coworker noted the restrooms were somewhat oddly placed behind a long hallway closed off by a door and there were some cobwebs in the window frames, but otherwise the space was quite nice. The staff at the bar on the deck poured wine just shy of the adjective "liberal" which was great. However, some other coworkers had to request adjustments of the food arrangement to prevent cross-contamination for those with allergies (adjustments were made promptly). The food - seasonal tapenade for appetizers and build-your-own pasta bar for the main - were well done otherwise with a good array of options. On the whole, a respectable event space on a scenic river. There were other groups actively using the rowing space/lower level, but you could barely tell because the upper level was high enough away.
