I came to this neighborhood, food truck pod with my girlfriend that lives near. It was a beautiful day and as soon as we stepped into the gated area, the food smells, just filled my nose. Very delicious.. There are several good looking choices, including a pasta truck. Might have to come back and try that one. My friend recommended the burger. One of the best fried chicken sandos out there! First off, the chicken thigh was absolutely CHONKY! I even cut off the ends that were sticking out for a lil nugget snack later and it was still PHAT as hell! The breading and juiciness is on point as well. This is the spicy chicken sandwhich that chick-fil-a wish it was. Keep in mind that it's chicken thigh as opposed to breast. The spicy was described as a 7 out of 10. GOOD BURGER! First time here and it was a good experience. I usually like my burgers, a little thicker and juicier, but I must say that this Smashburger-type burger was good. I do have to qualify that I am a little leery when people use unimaginative items like American cheese, as opposed to deli or cheddar, but that being said, this was a tasty burger. The nook that Farmer and the Beast rest in is a hidden concrete meadow off the street. It's filled with other great wonders: a sushi truck, a ramen truck and many more. You simple order from their window and are given a mystical beeper by a kind lad to let you know when your meal has transformed to a mythical beast! It took about 15 to 20 minutes. We were on the hunt for the hamburger and spicy chicken sandwich, so we rested our jaws into these beasts (see photos)! Let's just say, our taste buds were unleashed into a new magical world! And it's only $11 for two smash patties with cheese and fixings! The fries were okay, but too salty but fresh. Special sauce was nothing special , but it would taste better with just ketchup. The strawberry salad had toasted almonds, wild rice, pickled fennel, goat cheese,lettuce and a nice dressing. Filling and refreshing on a hot summer day. I love it. Oh I wanted so badly to enjoy this place, it looked like my kind of burger! We must have ordered at the wrong time, I think they were over-extended. When I arrived to pickup the food, I ended up having to wait another 30 minutes. They were getting hammered with people and online orders. We eventually did get our food and it was pretty good. The burger I'd say was decent, like much better than any fast food, but I don't know, there was something that was missing to take it to the next level. My wife agreed. The french fries were excellent! I also got the chicken sandwich which I thought would be stellar, but it was a little burnt to be honest, so the burnt bits sort of overpowered the taste. Heard a lot about their burgers and finally got a chance to drop by. They got a small menu but everything sounded delicious, from the burger to the vegan option to the fried chicken sandwich. It's a hot day so the sound of their Beast of the Sea with seared albacore tuna and shoyu coleslaw really enticed me. It's definitely one of the more unique burgers that I've had! They did a great job with the coleslaw: crunchy and flavorful. The shoyu worked surprisingly well with the fish which was tender and thick. They didn't hold back on the portion. And the texture of the patties being so thin is fun. It also just felt like it had the perfect amount of jucieness and level of salt. Really enjoyable. And the salad just might have topped it. It was some sort of seasonal special. The strawberries are from some local farm and have got to have been the best strawberries I've ever had. Wow. It's just like a different fruit from the thing you get at the supermarket. Those dollops of cheese were awesome. Creamy with a nice little tangy aftertaste. High quality ingredients. Good mixture of flavors and textures. Just a very good salad. I think my only complaint is that I needed both to fill me up and it costed $27. That's a rather expensive meal. It was worth it though. Yep, I get the hype of this smashburger food truck. The burger was amazing and not too greasy. I get concerned with smashburgers being too dry, but it was incredibly delicious and rich...melt in your mouth kind of goodness. Fries were the right amount of crisp, especially since they're on the thicker side for me. Their special sauce is pretty much a thousand island kind of sauce. After finding an article of the best cheeseburgers in town I knew I had to check out this new food cart in this Alphabet food pod. In a cute food pod it's one of the first ones you see as you enter. It can be easy to be distracted from the other menu items as they also have hen and ribeye specials and albacore. This visit we ended up trying the beast burger and impossible beast burger with a side of their hand cut fries with garlic on top. Within 10 mins we received our piping hot burger and fries. Loved the sesame bun holding the two patties and melted cheese. The shaved yellow onion was a nice touch to the burger. I thought the beef patties were good but a little salty but a good option if you're craving a smash burger. Fries were great with plenty of garlic, cheese, and herbs. Recently found Farmer and the Beast + this is my new go to spot for a smashburger + fries. Easily one of the best in town. The Beast burger includes 2 smashed beef patties and I can honestly only have this on days where I'm starving. The Little Beast (1 smashed beef patty) is the perfect size for me. I'm a huge fan of their special sauce + adding in grilled onions to my burger. Plenty of add ons on their menu to customize your burger to your liking. Their hand cut fries (plain or garlic) are great - perfectly crispy and fluffy inside and I love to dip them with either the super herby ranch or vegan truffled mayo. One order of fries is enough to share between my boyfriend and I since the burgers are pretty filling. They also have a few other options on their menu if you're not in the mood for beef so I'll definitely be back to check those out next time. Farmer and the best is tucked away in a small food pod just off of NW 23rd. You can easily find street parking in the area.
