This place is a nightmare the day after Thanksgiving. There are tons of trees, but they are all in terrible shape--sparse, half-dead, crooked. The walking paths are flooded. The broken speakers were blasting warped crackly Christmas music that sounded like a horror movie. You have to wait in the same looong line of cars paying just to leave even if you didn't find a tree. The welcome person had no idea what she was talking about when we asked where to find 10ft trees. We Love Farmer Brown's Christmas Tree Farm. We are always greeted by very friendly, helpful staff. Our family have been cutting down our Christmas tree there for many years. You are in the wilderness. Wear boots/waterproof shoes, especially if it has been rainy or damp. Bring a tarp or something waterproof to lay on the ground when cutting the tree. It will make the experience much more enjoyable. They have thousands of trees, several varieties, to choose from on 27 acres. Some of the trees are sketchy, but some are perfect! Trees are getting more expensive every year. In comparison to other tree farms in Snohomish County, for us, they offer a good deal. We usually get a 7-1/2-foot-tall bushy tree. Dec 2024, any tree, any size is $87.12. With tax: $94.00. The entertainment factor my husband and I have finding that perfect tree is an annual memory maker, usually with a lot of laughter! read more

I had high hopes taking my family here for a special family experience. We have been putting up an artificial tree since the our teens were young. I wanted something different and fun due to Covid this year. We went to this tree farm on opening day. I was was anticipating a great selection of fresh, healthy trees. Well, this was not the case! We searched for over an hour through partially dead, brown trees. The trees were not healthy, not maintained well. I was feed up and the special family experience was looking pretty grim. My teen daughter found a tree that was about 6 feet tall that was "doable" not perfect by any means. Unfortunately, it was by the road where the "music" was blaring through broken speakers. There was high pitched stretching sounds. Children were covering their ears. My husband hiked back to the car while I stayed with the tree. Our non perfect tree with two devilish looking tops, was so sharp and spiky (perhaps from the cactus species) we had to wear rubber garden gloves to decorate it! We threw the tree in the pick up truck and proceeded to the booth to pay. The lady collecting $ was not jolly, not wearing a mask or even dressed in any holiday clothing. No Christmas spirit whatsoever! She said "did you find a tree!" That is when we realized ALL trees were $76. I'm glad we got a big one! I can't image paying that much for a 1 foot tree! They hardly had any tall trees, as they were not cared for and were dead! We parked to get some hot cocoa and apple cider. The setup was NOT Covid compliant at all! There was a guy with NO MASK, no gloves serving the water. There were Costco boxes of cocoa and Cider packets, you had to poke your hand in to get your packet out. There were styrofoam cups spread out on a bare, dirty table. The guy there obviously had to touch each one! The stir sticks were in a cup, you had to touch multiple sticks to grab one. They had no decorations, not even a tablecloth or basket for the packets! Perhaps a bowl of mini candy canes would be a nice touch. They literally did not do anything to make the "experience" good in ANY way! So sad! Oh, after I got this prickly thing all decorated, it fell over because the trunk had grown wonky! I was So OVER it! My husband had to run to Lowe's to get a bigger stand. After an hour and half, it still would not stand! He had to bolt it to the wall with an industrial metal strap! Geez! What a great family memory! LOL! If they were this grumpy on opening day, I could only imagine how bad it would be closer to Christmas! All trees between 4-6 feet and most are browning out. No help getting tree to car so need to be ready for a hike. No one enforcing or practicing covid safety despite the website stating that masks and safety measures were in place. No staff wearing masks, majority of guests also not wearing masks. This is a review for 2018 only: all of their trees are dead. All the way in the back, the big ones, the skinny ones, up front, even in their premium lot. We walked the whole lot.. and everyone we ran into told us the same -- turn around, only dead trees this way. Really a shame because this has been our go-to tree farm for years and years. We left without a tree for the first time ever. I'm sure tree farms have off years, and the healthy baby trees growing hopefully will grow to big happy trees in a few years. I really like the farm, it's not just a lot with trees planted in rows. There is miss all over the ground which a really enjoyed walking on and there are a lot of different types of trees. They had hotdogs, coffee and cider and a fire going which was great. They offered cookies and wreaths and the food was provided by the cancer society so it's for a good cause. But there are A LOT of trees that are in poor health and turning brown, the trees are not pruned at all (which isn't necessarily bad) I just feel like maybe their trees would grow more evenly if they were manicured. There is a small lot with trees that are more expensive than all the others ($53 vs. $60) and I wish we just went straight to that lot, the trees there look MUCH healthier. We called to ask the difference and we were told there is none, that just wasn't true. Do not buy their tree stands! They are flimsy and only hold your tree up by one metal stake so if your tree has a curved trunk you're screwed. After walking around for an hour and a half (not complaining about the time spent, it smelt amazing and was a nice walk) we finally found a tree that wasn't dying, full and was the type we wanted. I'm not sure if we will return to this farm next year, I don't necessarily think it's a bad place to find a tree, I'm just not convinced the trees here are healthiest and prettiest you'll find in the area. read more

First they accept all credit cards which makes the entire process easy. The way it goes is you pull up there is parking if you want to pick from the lot near the house or you can drive through the fields and pick another tree. You know the price because they give you a map as long as you know where you are on the map you know the price before you cut. I don't know how some other reviewers didn't know the price but almost all the trees are about the same price it is a range between 45-60 plus tax. We pulled through (after getting a saw and map), cut a tree, drove it to the cashier at the end, told her the price area we cut from then left with a tree. I am happy our tree smells wonderful. Also to not about the first low review there is a sign at the front that clearly says no returns. Also an allergic reaction would be cause to probably not get another tree because that could just make it worse. I also don't think your allergic reaction calls for a discount that's silly. Anyways great experience! Easy there is also free goodies like hot chocolate but we had toddlers that were exhausted so we left. read more

I do however live in the neighborhood and am tired of people speeding up and down our road going to and from the tree farm. **DO NOT GO HERE** I drove 40 minutes since I read so many great reviews about this tree farm. It is possibly the worst tree farm you could ever imagine. To start, the trees are not in rows, or even sections, but randomly placed everywhere. They look great from afar, but once you get close enough, you'll notice they are all dying. I walked around the farm for a total of two hours and had an extremely hard time finding one tree that wasn't brown inside. All of them, and I mean ALL of them were either dying or already dead. When this was brought up to the employee, he offered me a tree in their front yard, that was also dead. Roads were poor, trees were poor, rude customer service, mud everywhere, and moss covering the ground. These trees won't last a day in your house. Don't waste $55. I have been buying trees at Farmer Brown's for 5 years now. They have several lots and a great selection of trees. The way they charge for trees is based on which area you cut your tree from. My family always goes to the first field as you drive in. It's the most expensive lot (about $60) but also tends to have the best selection of Noble Firs. This year we found a Blue Spruce we liked very much. The Noble selection was decent but not as good as other years and the Spruce was a nice tree. We cut it down, carried it to the truck, and paid for it. That's when my own problem began. My arms rashed up with a very bad allergic reaction. I was hoping it was a fluke. When we got home I trimmed the bottom of the tree and put it in the stand. I rashed up again! There was no way I could put this tree in my house. I called Mr Brown and explained my situation to see if he'd be willing to allow my family to come up and get another tree, perhaps at a discounted price. He response was quick and matter-of-fact: "I don't think so." "Pardon me?" I asked. "I don't think so. Your medical condition is not my problem." he responded. I promptly apologized for making him think I wanted a handout. I just explained that I cannot bring this tree in to my home and I was going to have to drive 30 minutes and pay again for another tree. He said NOTHING. Nothing. "Are you there?" I asked. He explained in a curt tone that he provides a service and replacing my tree was not what he was going to do. I have purchased trees at Farmer Brown's for 5 years. Almost every year I bring friends who also buy trees. Several of my neighbors purchase trees there (even this year) on our recommendation. I WILL NEVER PURCHASE ANYTHING FROM FARMER BROWN AND IF YOU DO, UNDERSTAND WHO YOU ARE DOING BUSINESS WITH. That's some holiday spirit, Mr Brown. Merry Christmas. read more

Pricing was about as expected with a flat rate for all trees unless they were very large. We went on a Monday, so some of the fan fair was missing, but they were kind and we had some hot coco and cider by their fire pit. They had a tree bailer and twine if needed. Also had saws available. We've loved our Farmer Brown's tradition for 12 years. Sadly we left without a tree this year. It looks like they were not maintained during the year. Trees were unkept/unpruned. They used to have kettle corn as you enter the farm, it just added to the experience. That's no longer. We still stayed and enjoyed a hot dog and homemade cookies. We'll have to find another farm and return when the recently planted trees mature. Thank you for all the memories Farmer Brown's! read more

The trees at Farmer Brown's were the worst I've ever seen. Many had large sections of brown, dried out needles and missing needles and looked diseased. Most were scraggly with few branches and were poorly shaped. Any other tree farm is probably a better choice! read more

This review is for 2018 only. My family and my wife's family have been going here for years!! The trees have always been nice, and well kept. Sadly, they're not this year. We paid almost $70 for a tree that I thought was ok... not worth almost $70, but I have my loyalty. I've had this tree since Nov. 25th, it is Dec. 8th now and a large portion of my tree is dead and without needles. I've kept up on the water and recut the bottom after I got it home so it would fit in my living room. Sorry to say this, but don't go to farmer browns this year. read more

This is a great great experience for looking for a Christmas tree! I have been going here for years to get my tree. The experience here really helps us get in the mood for the holiday season. I have been going to Farmer browns for years. It's affordable and fun! Big camp fire, hot cider, hot chocolate, Christmas music playing over loud speaker over the acreage. It's a fun adventure for the family... It's unfortunate that the previous reviewer had a bad experience. I do have to say, as a business owner, it's not farmer browns fault he had an unknown allergy to a tree... there is not much farmer brown can do with a returned cut down tree. It's like going to a restaurant, ordering food, eating it and then realizing you are allergic to the food then requiring the restaurant to refund your money... Our family loves Farmer Browns and are looking forward to passing on the tradition for years to come. read more

This place has all the amenities you could want in a tree farm. You pay for those amenities many times over in the cost of their trees though. They range from $45-$65, which is steep compared to other lots in the area are easily $10 cheaper. Do yourself a favor a skip this place. They are just gouging their customers for as much as they can get for a tree. I applaud them for donate proceeds to the Relay for Life, but I think that was a marketing ploy. This farm has everything you want; great selection of trees, hot chocolate, kettle corn, hot dogs, bon fire and more. Unfortunately it is a logistical nightmare. There are multiple small parking areas throughout the 27 acre farm, each leading you farther and farther away from the extras that compete the experience. You either have to walk all the way from where you are parked to find the refreshments or drive out to the entrance of the farm. Not to mention once you find your tree somewhere and load it up you have to drive it out the exit paying the cashier and then you get to the bailer and twine. So load, then unload to bail and reload in our in your car. By the time we sat in the large line of cars trying to exit and pay it was 35 minutes and there was no way I was going to find parking again, in a tiny lot not fitting for a huge farm and many visitors, to get my hot chocolate and enjoy the fire. Like I said before, the selection of trees is awesome but it's ruined by the experience of everything being really spread out and not thought out knowing they have tons of visitors everyday. I'd call it the Walmart of tree farms - they have everything you want but it's a pain to go to. read more

I have been coming to Farmer Browns Christmas tree farm ever since I can remember. I have so many great memories about their warm and friendly environment. There is always a huge bon fire to warm up next to and many different treats and foods like hot cider, hot dogs, and kettle corn. I also love the fact that the trees are organized by price so you are never surprised! You also can get your tree flocked or wrapped in netting for safe travels. We've been going to Farmer Browns for year's and has become a tradition. The kids live it and think their in the jungle. The kettle corn is a huge hit. Only tip I can say is wear boots because there are lots of puddles/streams. read more

This last December, 2018, we were searching everywhere else for an affordable, UNSHEARED Noble fir tree. Couldn't find one that was less than $108 elsewhere! Further, all the trees we looked at seemed to have been cut last October...they were so dry....Finally, we remembered Farmer Browns from years ago....My husband went out into the Farmer Brown fields and came back saying that there were a lot of trees with dead spots, but they was plenty of trees worth working with...Not perfect, but certainly doable. The best part is that we found one that was UNSHEARED and...ALL the trees were just $53 plus tax! I did hear that they lost their help last summer and that may account for some of the issues that people seem to have encountered...Still...we support our local tree farm....Farmer Brown's! read more

We decided to give this place a try despite a couple of bad reviews and, at first glance, it looked nice enough. You have the choice of walking everywhere or you can drive around to multiple little parking lots. I also like how you pay one price for any size/type tree. As another reviewer mentioned, there are a TON of brown and dead looking trees at this place. We had two toddlers with us and it took almost 2 hours before finding a tree that looked decent enough. Frankly, we were just tired and settled for it. We were going to grab some of their hot chocolate as a reward for the kids, but we heard others talking about the colored stir sticks actually melting/leaching color to the point where they were drinking purple cocoa... we asked someone who worked there about that and they simply said "don't worry, it's not toxic".. Finally, we set our tree up to find out 10 minutes later, it had given us bad allergic reactions on our arms. This is a noble fir, the kind we get every year, and neither my wife nor I have ever had a problem with one or have any other known allergies. We don't have the kind of money to just toss it and start over so we've had to tell our 2 toddlers to stay away from their own Christmas tree. And to put lights on it, I had to wear long layers and gloves and literally tape the sleeves like a beekeeper. A day later, I still have countless little dot/welts that are itching. We traveled to Farmer Brown's Christmas Tree Farm due to the high reviews and won't be coming back. There were a few nobles, but most looked diseased or strangely missing half of the tree (?). Other varieties were more plentiful but largely neglected/ungroomed. I will say the price was great ($50.14 per tree - regardless of size/type), however, we really wanted a noble... and it took us an hour to find one that wasn't dead/dying, etc. read more

We were just at this location this past Sunday. The logistical review is spot on. Getting in and out of this place is a nightmare on a busy day. We went during the Hawks game so it wasn't very busy. Last year was a muddy, time consuming mess. We should have learned our lesson last year. The tree selection this year is abysmal. It may be due to the dry summer we had, but almost all the trees are in really sad shape. Half dead, very sparse and just generally unhealthy looking. We parked, looked, reparked, looked, parked again, looked. Rinse and repeat. We couldn't find a tree up to our standards after an hour of looking (our standards aren't that high). We finally settle on one which happened to be close to the exit, which for some reason cost us $50 instead of the regular $46.50 price. There is a 'premium' lot of trees near the residence that are $55+ that were in better shape, but not by much. The entire process of getting in and out is a nightmare. Even if you don't buy a tree, you have to exit through the pay line which only has two booths. You can't get out quickly even if you're not buying something. It's just set up very poorly. We won't be back. We'll be switching back to going to Red-Wood Tree Farm in Woodinville. MUCH better experience there in years past. We only switched last year due to distance, convenience.
