Oh my goodness! What a lovely little shop, with super fresh options! Everything in this place looked amazing, so to try and pick one thing was had (another visit will have to happen soon!). The Pork Banh Mi sandwich was perfection. Crispy bread, perfect fillings. It was something to come back for! And I LOVE a Banh Mi - so to impress me with one is a big deal! I tried my first take home "supper" today. I got the Slow Roasted Brisket for 4 which was $55. Not bad if it were for 4 people. The sides were not even 2 cups so 1/2 a cup of mashed potatoes & brussels sprouts per person is not what I expected. The brisket was a more reasonable portion but still not for 4 people. The food was great but not the place to go for take home dinner. The food is packaged in thin boxes so a warm heavy brisket with sauce did not fair well. The box gave out and it spilled all over my counter when I took it out of the bag. Serving for "4" which was really 3 was more like 2 by the time all was said and done. read more

Glad this spot is in Walpole. It's one of the few places that has upscale sandwiches, salads and egg sandwiches. We love the chicken banh mi! Make sure you order it on the baguette otherwise it's not nearly as good. The spring rolls are an unexpected hit. Pay close attention to their hours as they aren't always open when we would expect them to be (only open for coffee at 9, closed on Sundays and most holidays). I wish they had a kids menu or a few items that are more appealing to (and priced for) kids. read more

This place was not my favorite. It was insanely priced and we did not enjoy the food. I got one of the most basic things on the menu (The ham and cheese) and it still wasn't up to par with what I could've made at home. There's just nothing in this area quite as good as Farmer In The Dell. I lived in NYC for 10 years, and this place reminds me of the little bakeries and sandwich shops scattered throughout the city. Farmer in the Dell is one of my favorite places for lunch in the area. Their ingredients are super fresh, with plenty of great classic options (ham and cheese that is awesome) and other more modern options. Every sandwich that I have tried has been delicious. Their desserts are great as well. My only complaint is that they are fairly pricey, but I suppose you get what you pay for, especially considering the freshness of their ingredients. As soon as you enter this place you know the owners of farmer in the dell have a passion for food. I chose two entrees from their dinner menue. Brisket and a gnocchi. Both dishes were made to order and packaged in high quality togo containers. When I arrived at my home 5 min + away and sat down at the table both meals were still hot and very delicious. The brisket was soft and the sauce was a perfect combo between sweet and savory. Mixed together with the mac and cheese side dish you got something out of this world. The brussel sprouts were cooked perfectly and gave crunch to the meat dish. The gnocchi were also cooked perfectly, topped with green beans and served with tasty baked potatoes. They did not offer sides for this dish, not a big deal because the potatoes were so awesome, but they should have given you a choice of sides like the brisket dish got. Next time I will take some desserts home. This is a gem of a restaurant in the berbs. More fit for JP but so happy they are keeping us fed well in the suburbs. My girlfriend and I stumbled across this place before heading into Boston, and I have to say this was among one of the best breakfast sandwiches I've ever had . In my search for the best fried chicken sandwich, I had to try the breakfast sandwich "Chicken or the Egg". I had it on Brioche, hubby on biscuit. It was just OK. Hubby said that McDonalds new fried chicken sandwich was better. The Brioche bun was large and toasted. After first few bites it was dry and grainy. The egg was dry as well. The chicken was initially hot and crispy, soon soggy and coating came off. The maple cream was nauseatingly sweet. The sausage gravy was scant and looked separated. We were there at an odd time, mid morning, thought it would be good when less busy. Cost of 2 sandwiches, 2 cans of Diet Coke almost $14. I had high expectations. Had to go home and brush my teeth and clear my palate. Think they may be trying had but negative on execution, in more than mentioned. read more

This is a great option for lunch in Walpole, MA. It is a small café where you order at the counter and grab a seat. Seating is kind of limited so there can be a wait. They only offer dinner on Saturdays with a reservation. We stopped here for lunch and got a sandwich, a salad, freshly made drinks, and a house made pastry.
