This is a quaint little breakfast and lunch place. The ambiance is casual and cozy. Staff is very friendly and attentive. I ordered the Pick 2 hash sampler (corned beef and linguica). The hashes are homemade and were delicious. The food was hot and was served promptly. My significant other ordered the Mexican omelette (not sure how it was named) and it was hot and delicious. They have cold brew iced coffee in various flavors like Snickers, thin mint, etc. we got the Snickers and it was very good. Not too sweet. They have a bunch of options for everyone including specialty pancakes, Benny's, and wraps. I definitely recommend trying the breakfast. I will be back to try their lunch another time. The place is small so I expect that there is probably a bit of a wait to dine in on the weekends. They do offer takeout, including their specialty coffees so that could be an option if time is an issue. read more

The Griddle is trying to be something that it is not. One day as we drove by we made a mental note to come back and go for breakfast. That day unfortunately was today. A beautiful Saturday morning in early summer. It was dead. Breakfast places are supposed to be slamming every weekend morning. The host who greeted us looked around the empty dining room as if he couldn't figure out where to seat us. Perhaps it was busier than normal after all. We sat. We ordered. We waited. Seemed like too long being we were pretty much the only diners. I got the hash sampler with brisket and pulled pork. She an omelette with ham onions and cheddar. Mine was fine. Everything lacked seasoning. Hers she thought was too much cheese. Too much stuffing. Too little egg. Halfway home to Framingham she felt sick. Me I've had abdominal dissension and left upper quadrant abdominal pain. If you want to diagnose me... go for it. I've diagnosed it as bad breakfast. STAY AWAY! read more

A nice fund while for breakfast while visiting a relative living in this area. Had a rather pleasant time. Decent food and great waitress. She was the only one serving and managing (though it's not a big place) , but still she was working hard to get to everyone in a timely manner between taking orders, bringing drinks/refills, serving food, cleaning up, bringing bills, etc. all in a timely manner. She was also very pleasant ( wished I'd gotten her name to post direct accolades to her on this review). Very impressive. I was surprised I had to ask for syrup fir my pancakes however, and that they only served it in a mini cup (like the size of the plastic cups diners serve a serving of butter in). But I dare not ask fir more as the waitress was very busy. It was ok, as I ordered the pancakes with other items in them. The coffee was good as well. The only other thing is the place is a bit echo noisy, and when each set of typical screaming children came in, it wasn't too pleasant. But in all, I recommend folks try it out. read more

We sat ourselves in a booth in the corner to avoid disrupting any other customers with the unpredictability of a baby in tow. Location: Easy to find. There's a decent sized parking lot out front that makes it easy. Ambiance: Super casual, mom and pop type restaurant. Food: I ordered the Apple chicken sausage with sweet potato hash, eggs over easy, and toast. My cousin ordered the Avocado on multigrain toast topped with a hard boiled egg, served with lemon lime dressed baby arugula and fresh fruit. Everything was pretty tasty and made for a solid brunch. Service: Our server was nice, though I remember it was a little tough getting the bill at the end. Price: Not too bad for a solid brunch. Would I return? We came here and the lady sat us down immediately. Dropped off menus. And never came back. (We were the only table there) She got our drink order 30 minutes after we sat down only because we all starred at her (after she started seating others and getting their drink orders and their meal orders). 45 minutes pass and she never brought our drinks. When she saw that I got up to ask about it, she brought over cups and a pitcher of water. We then had to remind her we also ordered coffees and other drinks etc. 50 minutes later we finally got all of our drinks. After multiple tables came in after us, not only did those tables get their drinks, but they got their food and even their bills before we even got our drinks. She also messed up one of our orders twice in a row. Having to redo the meal twice. The food came out shortly after the drinks. The food was good but the service was honestly some of the worst service I've ever had. Due to the service we had to change plans for the day since an hour breakfast turned into over a 2 hour ordeal. Less than the some of it's parts Medfield could use a good breakfast place nearer downtown so I am hoping for the Griddle Cafe to succeed. The decor has been rejuvenated from the former Rock & Roll Rib Joint. Very welcoming. The seating space is small so be prepared for a wait during high volume times. A fairly large amount of counter space is available from the former bar. One caution, tables near the door are effected by the draft from it opening and closing. The menu for breakfast was fairly standard with a few signature dishes. No particular children's menu but there are several quirky pancakes that should satisfy the youthful. The pricing is on the higher end for the area. Looking at the menu, I believe the intent is to deliver a better than average experience so understandable if the meet expectation. My table on this occasion ordered the corned beef hash with two eggs over easy and a beef brisket omelet. You'll find on the menu several different types of hash so the anticipation was high. Unfortunately, the presentation missed the mark. House hash is basically potatoes cut large not particularly roasted or seasoned. This is a staple side with most meals. All the special hashes, corned beef, beef brisket, etc, are the house hash with a small amount meat mixed in. As one who frequently eats breakfast out, I can tell you that this is not what one expects when they order corned beef hash. The corned beef like the brisket in the omelet are both excellent on their own but there is not enough. The omelet was well made and the right size but certainly could have used more of the ingredients. There are very few bread choices and no cinnamon raisin option. You only receive one slice of toast which can be good or bad depending your diet. The bread itself is pretty nondescript. You'll have to ask for jelly. I won't say much concerning service as it is early on and the restaurant is clearly finding its stride. Staff was very friendly. There was a considerable wait from order to table service but again this is early. I look for certain standard items on the menu and one that stood out was lack of blueberry pancakes. They serve pancakes with blueberry compote. In this area of NE that usually doesn't fly. The quality of the meats was good enough for me to try again and lunch may be very promising. I hope the owners see this review and take my critiques as friendly. The area needs another good breakfast option and I hope the Griddle Cafe succeeds. read more

Food- Great variety, that pushes boundaries between breakfast and lunch. I've had a great omelette there with brisket and corn beef, wife had the Breakfast Cristo which was delicious, I could personally go for firmer/crispier bread on a Montecristo but regardless it was really good. This morning I had the Breakfast Reuben with thick homemade corn beef and the rye bread on that was fantastic as well. Service- Always good (I've been there 5 or 6 times). I've never been blown away by the service but I have never had anything to complain about. Location- The place is small, not tiny, but they are good enough that they really pack the house on a weekend. Usually a bit of a wait, but in this area I don't know of anything better yet, so the wait is worth it. read more
