I come here all the time for breakfast, love it with my coffee in a mug (reduce plastic) that they can refill up to 2x. My go to is green eggs and ham but on special occasions I do the Chicken or the Egg which is to die for. The food is high quality and fresh so you will pay a premium, which I'm fine with. Just tried Farmer In The Dell for the first time after hearing such great things but we weren't impressed. Prices are high and portions smaller than small; and we do not require over-sized meals. Soup ordered wasn't bad, but tasted no different than soups offered at our local pizza shop. Asked for Asian salad with the dressing on the side, but then they didn't include dressing. There was some sort of sauce on it, but I'm still not sure exactly what was on the salad. Also, too many noodles, not enough greens, and very small piece of chicken not yielding a lot of protein. I'm glad we tried it, but the experience did not match the reputation. read more

this place is outrageous. you can tell that the owner(s) care about their restaurant/food. Every item looks like care and thought has gone into it. The Chicken or the Egg- amazing!!!! Every single ingredient is perfectly cooked. The egg is perfectly fried and not over cooked. The bisquit (OMG). The chicken is perfectly fried. the gravy-yum. My husbands bacon egg and cheese was great too. Bacon was good quality and perfectly cooked. Just the fact that every ingredient is perfectly done each time (I've been twice so far but will be here many more times) shows that they care about their food. I notice the prices are very reasonable, too, which also makes me think that the owners have a passion for food and enjoy the business. My wife and I really like this place. The two women (owners?) who run it are very nice and chat with us like friends instead of customers. For breakfast we have the egg & sausage sandwich (real sausages) on foccia bread, or the green eggs and ham on chiabata bread. Both are great. The only cons are that it opens late for us (7 would be ideal for breakfast) and it wasn't open on Sunday. read more

I've been there at least 15-20 times now, and the detail to quality is just the same as it was when they opened, excellent! They have some very cool selections on the menu board. Surprised to not see this in many reviews but the pork bahn mi is one of the best sandwiches I've had anywhere, and really haven't had anything there that I don't like. The Cubano, chicken bahn mi and turkey flatbread are also some personal favorites. Nice to have a place in the area that uses quality ingredients. Every time I come home to visit my family I go straight to Farmer In The Dell. I'm so happy there is a restaurant in my hometown that serves quality, fresh farm to table food. No matter what I get on the menu you can taste the thought and attention to ingredients. I cannot say enough great things about this little gem. Coming from a large city where you're surrounded by great restaurants it's SO nice to come home knowing you can go somewhere that doesn't serve a different version of bar food (which don't get me wrong, has a time and a place). Probably my favorite place in the area for lunch. A little on the expensive side for the area, but once you eat there you'll know why. Much better product than a lot of the other lunch spots in town. I don't think anything at all from this place comes out of a freezer. Bread always tastes freshly baked, nothing I've ever gotten has tasted anything less than fresh. A few of the staff members have been a little... I don't know what the word it, I don't want to go as far as to say rude, but maybe...standoffish? But they're mostly high school kids I think, so that's about right. The owner (I think she is one of the owners anyways) is very nice though, always seems genuinely happy that you're there. Also, I love when a place asks if you're having your food for here, and then actually takes the time to put it on a plate so you don't have to sit at a table eating out of your to go container. I do wish there were more "small bites", I love the viet noodle rolls, really good. Also, get the brisket sandwich. Just do it. You'll notice the bread is a little soggy on the bottom, don't be a whimp, get a fork, get a wet nap, just eat it. All of it. Lick the plate. Order another one and take it home for lunch the next day. Slowly let your life spiral out of control until this brisket sandwich completely consumes you. And then get dessert too. DO NOT BUY GIFT CARDS FROM HERE. My realtor was kind enough to give me a $50 gift card to the Farmer in the Dell. I thought it was a great idea since I am new to the area. I decided to finally go in for lunch today to check it out. Unfortunately, when I went to use the gift card, the young lady working the register said that there was a problem with the card to pay for the $22 amount. She took the card and would check with her boss on providing a new card so that it would not happen when I came in to use the balance. The sandwiches were very good, but the young worker never came back to settle up. I went to get my new card and was told that they "could not prove that the card was worth $50 (even though I gave her the receipt provided with the card), but they would give me a new card for $20 (even though the balance should have been $28).
