    Crab fried rice
    An T.

I was the first to order in person but also waited 30 mins. Understand they probably had online orders but then found a hair half way through my food was def disappointing. The crab fried rice was good but the roti was too flakey and oily for my taste. The garden was super cute though so loved the ambiance!

Farmhouse has been my go to birthday lunch for the last two years. I also have been ordering their wonderful lunch special since the start of covid. I have been mainly to their Jack London and Montclair locations so was excited to see they had another location in San Leandro. I found myself in the area so decided to stop by for lunch. I was hoping for cheaper prices since this location wasn't in the best of areas but alas. The quality of the food was on par with their other locations - excellent!! They offer more of a limited menu but it has all the major dishes. I was a bit disappointed by the roti, which was a little too flaky and buttery and the egg roll was pretty standard. Samosa was excellent as always. They also included a little salad with a sesame oil sauce, and included some nice veggies from their garden (sorel). I imagine this place would be a great place to be on a hot day with a cold drink. They also have a parking lot behind the building, which I took advantage of. The major problem I had with my experience however, was the fact that there were no plates or bowls. My very hot soup was served in a plastic to go container and my lunch was served on a weak plate that I later discovered melted the top layer of plate into my food (see photo). I also added shrimp to my pad thai and was given only 2 shrimp so will skip that next time. The food is excellent though, and when I go back I will bring my own bowl and plate or just take it home, which would be a shame as they have a lovely outdoor area.

    Multiple old batches of fries.

A disappointed meal. Fried chicken pad thai was alright. The chicken is tasteless. The noodles were good. Fried pork belly was good. The sauce that came with was actually my fav out of all the food. French fries were disappointing. $10! And they were old fries. Look at the colors! The darker one is obviously the previous batch. Sorry but you guys could do better than this. Fries don't cost much and for your cook to do this is a rip off.

Highly recommend for Thai catering and takeout anytime! We have Farmhouse regularly for take out and love it so we decided to cater from there for a birthday party. The food was amazing - as always! Our guests loved it and they were wonderful to work with. Will definitely be back again soon and recommend to friends and family for some delicious Thai eats!

The curry here is so flavorful! I loved the whole meal and the lovely patio seating with ample shade. Staff was friendly too!

Not worth $10 for their Mango Sticky Rice
    Joanna L.

Food portion on Pad See Ew and Pad Kee Mao was perfect and taste was amazing but.... Why lack on the mango sticky rice? Everything was good until I opened the box for the Mango sticky rice and was surprised it cost $10 for the 4 bite portion. The sticky rice was 2 inch high and it was maybe 2 strips of mango to ring around the rice with a teaspoon of coconut sauce.. I would've took my $10 and made a whole pot for my family instead of buying the small portion here. Would come back for food but not the dessert..

Farmhouse came back? This is my third time back because of its cute outdoor setting- love that it is dog friendly. The ladies in the kitchen cooking in the hot heat were super sweet, they greeted us and thanked us for stopping by to have a good meal. Cucumber salad is fresh from the garden, my bf and I were trying to spot the fresh ingredients from the yard. The crispy pork belly was our favorite- must try and their Thai tea is really good.

Order of pork belly. More like order of salad. Not worth the money you pay.

Customer Service is non-existent. I walk up looking confused because its my first time there. Lady with face mask walks by and just looks and walks on. No greeting, no guidance. So that set the mood. A bunch of people working just kinda looking at us. Then another lady finally walks by and says welcome. I would have given 4 stars if the service was good. Very expensive. See the pork belly pic, about 4 oz. Menu has changed from what is posted on yelp. No papaya salad. You order your own food, seat yourself and pick up your own food and they have the audacity to ask for a tip when paying. Won't be back.

Blue Margarita - Thai Chili infused Blanco Tequila, lime and cane juice
    Scott N.

Second time at Farmhouse Kitchen, first time at the Express in San Leandro. The outdoor seating is delightful, though the music was hit and miss, mostly miss. The pop music didn't match the atmosphere. We started with a Blue Margarita - Thai Chili infused Blanco Tequila, lime and cane juice. It was so tasty and had a marvelous kick! I could have had several, but stopped at one. Next the Neua Num Tok Roll - grilled Snake River Farm wagyu beef wrapped with mint, cilantro and cucumber in a cilantro lime vinaigrette. This appetizer was outstanding. The beef was tender and juicy. The cucumber and mint were excellent accompaniments. These were good! Main dish was Hat Yai Fried Chicken - southern style, fried Mary's chicken, turmeric and herbs, fried shallots, roti, potato yellow curry (for dipping the chicken), white rice, and a small cucumber salad. The chicken breading was crunchy. The chicken was moist. Dipped into the curry... Oh My! It was so good! And it was a LOT of food. I liked the roti, which was tender (like the beef) and tasty, but I opted to skip it and the rice. It was simply too much food. I did, however, devour the chicken and the curry. A little cup of a slightly sweet and acidic liquid was great with the cucumber salad and also good for dipping the chicken. So many delicious flavors from drinks to apps to mains. It's a bit pricey, but I knew this going in and accepted it. For the amount and flavor of the food - totally worth it. The staff was kind, informative and helpful. One star off for the music.

Pad Thai, green curry, samosa, Thai tea.

Just wow!! I found this place on a fluke and now it is on my favorites list. So fresh, very friendly and I loved sitting on the patio amongst the fresh herbs and veggies used to make my food!

    Little Lao Set (Togo Only)
    Kristi T.

I love Farmhouse Thai and was so excited to discover the Express location that is only 12 minutes away from home! The Little Lao set is to-go only, but is such a great value for $59.99. My boyfriend and I have very large appetites and we still had half the platter leftover at the end of the meal. Honestly, the set could probably feed a family of 4 comfortably! I've also taken my mom outdoor dining here, and the experience felt great (sanitary, tables spaced apart). Parking may be a bit of an issue in the residential area, but not wholly impossible. It doesn't feel like the safest area to be in, so maybe drop by before it gets dark. Still highly recommend the food here!

    Crispy Pork Belly
    Jamee S.

I had friends posting pictures of the Little Lao Table and i knew one day, I would need to try this place! There is nothing little about this huge tray of food! It is beautifully plated and decorated, with many bites of their different dishes to choose from. Everything looks and tastes delicious - from the bone in meat, the fried chicken, the 2 giant prawns sitting on top of fried rice, the fried egg on the pad thai... but the most enchanting was the blue rice. The only downside was that I didn't know what sauce or topping went with what. There were little containers in the tray but if you're not familiar with Laotian food, then you're just taking a shot. But whether you dip into sauce or not, the food was all very flavorful! I love that this table came with 2 glasses of Thai iced tea! We also ordered the crispy pork belly - which was very crispy! The dipping sauce it came with was like a party in your mouth! Salty, tangy, and spicy. We also ordered the Panang Curry with Beef but we didn't eat it tonight. My family of 4 barely ate the little table! We had leftover rice and noodles, and the panang curry will be sure to be delicious for dinner the next day. I would love to come eat here when inside dining returns. I bet the dishes would be 10x better when it's hot and freshly cooked.

Review for OUTDOOR DINING experience... This Farmhouse Thai Express isn't in the best area but is slowly 'developing' as it's part of The E14th Street South Area Development Strategy. The initiative is to "help revitalize the area with quality businesses and to ensure new development is attractive" which is a great move for change. Regardless of the area, Farmhouse Thai has created another wonderful, zen, patio area like their other restaurants so you don't notice the busy traffic, the large billboard above, construction and auto body shop next door... F O O D * Little Lao Set (Dine in) - this is the popular item as it's definitely a feast for the eyes and tummy: Variety of items from pad thai, pad seew, roti, fried boneless chicken, samosa, eggrolls, papaya salad, huge shortrib, fried rice...which comes with 2 Thai iced teas...it was mentioned the "dine-in Lao Set" ($99) was bigger than the takeout version ($70) and reason for the price difference - says feeds 2 but fed 3 comfortably with some leftovers Of course best to dine there so items stay crisp and hot. 5/5 * 24 hour Beef with Egg Noodle - with the order of the Little Lao set, this dish wasn't needed but definitely worth getting! Beef super tender and fall-off- the bone. Soup was delicious with hints of sweet, sour and spiccccy. 5/5 S E R V I C E Super friendly, welcoming, accommodating, efficient and following the safety protocols. 5/5 A M B I A N C E Socially distanced tables...sanitizer available...fun and relaxing seating area along with outdoor heaters for each table which shows they're really looking out for their customers comfort. 5/5 Great outdoor dining experience and would recommend visiting for lunch over dinner as parking can be a little tricky along E14th with construction and no parking areas. Parking around the corner in the residential areas. Reservations not accepted nor needed during weekday lunch. Restaurant closed from 2:30 - 4:30 pm

Does anyone know their new prices since they only allow full day passes?

Order the little loa from the express will it be different than from their restaurant?

Would you have curbside pickup? e.g do we place order over the phone and then call you when we arrive, and you bring the order to our car in the parking lot? thanks

No curbside. DoorDash or other delivery services can be used. Parking is a bit of a challenge due to sidewalk work.

Then, as much as we loved the banh mi, the banner and the sidewalk sign advertising them as a new lunch option last year seemed almost like they were really, really trying to pull in more people any way they could. Every time I walked past this place, it was either empty or there were one to two tables with guests at a time. So when the word finally broke a few days ago that the owners have sold the place and are closing, I felt really sad, but wasn't surprised. It's definitely the end of an era, and is one of those longtime San Leandro restaurants in this strip of E 14th that has a comforting, early 2000s vibe -- and is now gone, like so many before them. It's frustrating, especially because the likelihood of them possibly getting replaced by a chain or yet another taqueria or Chinese place is high (though they apparently don't know what will be moving in after them). Dropped by yesterday with my husband for a final lunch. He got the bun bo hue and I got the yellow curry stir fry and fried rice. Everything was hot, fresh, and delicious, and the restaurant was nearly entirely full with people having their own last meals and saying their goodbyes to the owners. While the owner was incredibly nice, service was terrible. She was overworked, working the counter, packing up to-go orders, taking table orders, bringing out food, AND bussing tables alone. The party next to us was a little frustrated that she still hadn't come by to take their order and went to the counter to flag her down. I don't know how much longer Le Soleil would've remained viable if service has been like this for months. It's a sad situation, but I wish nothing but the best for the owners, especially if they decide to open another restaurant in the future.
