I found this place on TikTok and after seeing how much he gives back and feeds people in the community, I wanted to go support. I'd rather spend my money at a local spot that actually gives back than keep giving it to big corporations. And the food was GOOD The portions are huge, at least for me. The Captain Crunch milkshake was sooo good, and I'm a fries girl so yes, the fries passed The box with the burger, fries and onion rings is HUGE. Like feed an army huge... okay maybe 2-4 people depending how hungry everybody is lol. There were 6 of us and we had like 100 questions because we're fatties and needed to know everything but all the employees were super friendly and answered everything. They weren't kidding when they said the Fring Box can feed two. With half fries, half onion rings topped with 2 patties, cheese, grilled onions, (minus the jalapenos) and smack sauce, it can be a food challenge for one with how rich this was. Not wanting to go into a food coma, I went for the equally satisfying Big Smack burger with those perfectly lacy edges, topped with grilled onions and pickles and smack sauce on the side. I definitely plan to return to try their breakfast burrito and continue supporting them as the owner Smack Man a.k.a. The tortilla on this breakfast burrito is griddled on the plancha before they wrap it, and that alone tells you the kitchen knows what they're doing. Honestly, that's the kind of detail that separates a decent breakfast burrito from a great one, and it's the first thing I noticed when I unwrapped mine. I'd heard about Smack Burger through their food truck and always liked their smash burgers, but recently I kept seeing people call their breakfast burrito one of the best in the Bay Area. I'm from LA, where good breakfast burritos are everywhere, so I've been on a bit of a hunt since moving up here 10 years ago. That reputation was enough to get me to drive out to San Leandro. Fair warning if you're planning a visit, parking in that plaza is rough. It took me about 20 minutes to find a spot, and I'd ordered ahead for pickup, so I ended up missing my pickup window by about 20 minutes too. If you're ordering online, build in extra time before you even think about walking up to the counter. The pickup itself was quick and totally neutral, nothing special either way. I gave my name, they double checked my last name, handed me the bag. No complaints there. They do have a small outside patio, which was great because I had my dog with me. Ate outside in the sun, which was nice. The burrito comes boxed, wrapped in foil, and already cut in half, which I appreciated. Inside was bacon, egg, cheese, tater tots, and I added avocado and chives. The eggs were fluffy, the cheese was melty, and both the bacon and the tater tots were still crispy, which honestly is the most important thing for me. Crispy potatoes are the real dividing line between a good breakfast burrito and a world class one, and this one delivered. My one gripe is distribution. The ingredients were kind of localized instead of spread evenly throughout, so depending on which part of the burrito you're biting into, you might get mostly potatoes in one bite and mostly egg in the next. I like an even ratio in every bite, so that knocked it down slightly for me. Still tasted great regardless, just something to know going in. They also serve with jalapeno crema, and they don't skimp on it, mine came with two containers. It's creamy with a nice bit of heat, but if you want something to cut through the richness instead of adding to it, I'd bring your own green salsa. The crema is good, but it's rich on rich, and sometimes you want that acid to balance the fat. Everything was still hot and fresh by the time I sat down. I paid around 17 dollars for the bacon breakfast burrito with chives and avocado added, which felt fair for what I got. Would I order this again? Absolutely. Next time I'd skip the pickup and just wait for it fresh, and I'd probably bring my own salsa to balance the crema. I'd also try it with onions and chives just to see. If you're a breakfast burrito person like me, this one's worth the parking headache. Just plan ahead. read more

I got the tater tots with the extra avocado (extra $2) for a total of $13, which I think is very reasonably priced. Pros: - HUGE portions. It's rare to leave any restaurant for under $30 for 2 people, but we made that happen haha - The green sauce is very tasty - Avocado was fresh and great addition to the egg and tots - We didn't have any issues finding parking on a Sunday during lunch time - as long as you're okay taking a short walk - Pretty fast service, the food came out in less than 5 mins - Very casual burger joint, like the same level of casual as In-N-Out. I saw a Tik Tok video about the owner of this place passing out food to the postal workers and those in need in the shopping center where their eatery is located. I had to visit today. I brought two burgers, waffle fries and two drinks. The cashier that took my order made a recommendation that I purchase the plain Jane which saved me money on my order. Much appreciated. My teen doesn't like condiments on his burger so I got him the plain Jane and I got the baydestrian. It was cheaper than purchasing two baydestrians. I ordered to go. I came here after work on a Wednesday. It is located in an outdoor plaza. I was shopping in the area. This place smelled so good and I was in the area so ended up ordering. I got a Big Smack burger, fries, and a strawberry lemonade. There is inside and outside seating. The food came out within 15 minutes and it was fresh. The portions were big. This place is a gem but the even bigger gem is the owner of this restaurant. First things first, I gotta talk about the food. I came came here for breakfast and they have a very simple breakfast menu available. What you wanna get is the breakfast burrito as it is one of the best I ever had. You could also get the breakfast tots, which is basically the insides of the burrito layered on top of their tots, which is fried in beef tallow. See back in the day, McDonalds used to deep fry their fries in beef tallow which gave it a very umami taste. Unless you are an even bigger fatass than me, I wouldnt recommend orderning both the burrito and loaded tots, unless you want to sleep through the day. So as delicious as the food is, what I want to talk about the owner. I dont think I got a chance to meet him but if you follow SmackBurgers on IG, you will see the owner offer food to the needy or people who are just down on their luck, no questions asked. Overall, I thought the food was slightly above average--good, but not something I'd go out of my way to drive across town for or wait in a long line to get. Between the two, I'd definitely choose the breakfast burrito over the burgers if I were coming back. What really stood out was the service. The staff was incredibly friendly, welcoming, and efficient. Orders came out quickly, and everyone seemed genuinely happy to help. The eight of us were here for our 19th hole after a round of golf at nearby Metro. We arrived around 12:45pm.m Tuesday. There's both indoor and outdoor seating available. We sat at two tables of four inside. Order and pay at the counter. Then listen for your # found on your receipt. I read on SF Chronicle that their breakfast burrito was rated #1 out of 100. But none of us ordered it. The menu selection is limited so you should be able to make a selection quickly. Smack Burgers is one of our favorite places to get smash burgers in the area! We've been back many times and they never disappoint. Their smash burgers are juicy, fresh, and flavorful. When I'm craving a smash burger, this is the spot! Their tallow fries are also really good and crispy; I've never had fries fried in tallow before and it's a game changer! I've tried the banana pudding shake and it's one of the best I've had; t doesn't taste artificial at all! I really wanted to come back to try their breakfast burritos, which I've heard is the best in the bay?! Ugh, but I live too far to come grab breakfast in the morning haha. The owners are also very friendly and humble. They started out selling at home and have opened up this location in their hometown along with a location in SoCal. They're always taking care of their community and giving away food to those in need. Fast food but with a take your time and stay a while attitude. 5 stars for the set up! Our server was great! I wanted to order a breakfast burrito along with my hamburger because I've herd so much about the Burrito's but unfortunately for me I was about an hour too late... "sad face" as they only serve them until noon. I think she felt sorry for me because she gave wifey a free drink. Anyways she gets 5 stars. I ordered: A strawberry lemonade. A 1/2 onion ring, 1/2 waffle fries tray. A Smack burger with lettuce and tomato, no pickle. The run down: The strawberry lemonade: IMO mediocre at best. It comes stock with eggs, hash browns and mmmmmm, cheddar cheese on that perfectly grilled tortilla! One of these is easily enough for two but I know guys who would eat the whole thing. Total price: $19.50 + tax = $21.60 A Smack Burger is a smash burger. Hamburger patties are smashed thinly into a hot grill, the outside becomes caramelized and the inside is juicy. Caramelization of the meat gives the burger it's great flavor. My Bacon Smeeze Burger was hot and juicy, fresh from the kitchen. Absolutely delicious combo of flavors.....hamburger, bacon, grilled onions, bbq sauce, and cheese. I didn't add the Smack Sauce. They give you sauces on the side. OMG! The onion rings made the trip worth the price of gas. Fresh from kitchen....those onion rings were crispy, crunchy.....and tasted like fresh onions. My husband and I finally had the chance to try this spot. We went in around 9:30am. It was pretty busy. Located in a plaza and plenty of parking. Friendly staff. We ordered their breakfast burrito with avocado, bacon, and jalapeno sauce. Also, the Smackin' tots. The breakfast burrito and tots were pretty much the same ingredients. The difference is if you prefer a tortilla or without. It's pretty heavy. The burrito was cut in half and I ate half of one. Very filling. Stopped by Smack Burgers with my family. We went on a Sunday evening and it was busy. The line was almost out the door but it moved fast. The person taking my order was moving fast and was not very chatty but it is ok, it was busy. I don't think I would say these are the best smashed burgers I've had. They were a bit bland and if it weren't for the sauce on the side, they would be ok. I had the Baydestrian. I like the size and that it is not too thick. It lacked flavor, and it felt like it was missing something that would give it the wow factor. My husband had the Big Smack and he liked this one better. We also had a Strawberry lemonade, which was really good, and my sister-in-law ordered the Smack Fries. They remind me of In-N-Out Animal Style Fries, without the sauce. Those were good. And not just me, but even SF Chronicle tried over 100 breakfast burritos and named them #1 in Bay Area. When you first enter, the vibe is high. Everyone is super welcoming and there were already customers right when doors opened. The price is actually so good and affordable, especially in this economy. Breakfast Burrito | 5/5: it is PACKING and I was pretty much full eating a quarter of it. The jalapeno crema sauce was the icing on the cake, because it was fire. Fresh REAL slices of avocado (which is rare nowadays), fresh made to order eggs, and fresh cheddar cheese! The crispy tots inside are the cherry on top! We ordered ahead on the square site and the estimates were pretty accurate, expect about a 15-30 minute wait for pick up depending on the time of day. The only thing I would add is more customizable options in the app when ordering a burrito to allow for different options and meats or toppings like sausage or jalapeños. Their burgers are out of this world. So juicy, flavorful and filling! OMG, I might have to come here once a week at this point! We're visiting from Las Vegas where the smash burger trend is really popping, so we definitely wanted to give this place a try. We were pleasantly surprised by how affordable the burgers were! A 'Plain Jane' for $9? Amazing. Plus, I was stoked to get a burger just the way I like it with no changes. My husband had the 'Bacon Smeeze' for $13 which was sizable and had quite a bit of bacon. Both burgers had a great flavor with delicious buttery buns. The only thing that felt a tiny bit overpriced were the waffle fries for $5.50, but they were so good we didn't care. Service was very friendly and our food was ready in under 10 minutes. There was plenty of seating inside as well as a nice patio out front. We'll definitely be back when we're in town again in a few months! PS: If you're craving burgers & beers, Smack makes for a great meal before walking a few doors down to Fieldwork Brewing. read more

Came here to try their breakfast burrito because of an ig reel. So glad I made the trip - it was delicious! They get packed so come early if you want to grab an indoor or outdoor seat. It's in a huge plaza so parking was not an issue. Very nice and accommodating staff when I had to leave and couldn't wait for my second order anymore. Smackrrito with bacon & avocado add-ons ($14) - "This is the best breakfast burrito I've ever had," my bf exclaimed. Thick egg, crispy tator tots, and gooey cheese. Another spot that I bookmarked since people were raving about their smash burgers. We decided to stop by on a Saturday at 7pm for dinner, and the place was bustling. Not sure when they opened, but I've never seen this restaurant before until I arrived. I love all the yellow decor inside, it makes the entire place very lively. We ordered the Big Smack, Baydestrian, and Waffle Fries. The patties were a big overcooked making it a little dry, but the other ingredients did help off set it. I really like the buns that they used because they were soft and pillowy. The fries were also decent. Good spot to check out if you're craving/wanting a smash burger. These types of burgers are on the pricier side given that 2 burgers and fries came out to $31. I'm glad that there is a spot in the East Bay that I can go to. read more

Was craving loaded fries and found Smack Burgers' Smack Fries in San Leandro. Think animal-style fries from In-N-Out, but topped with chopped smash burger patties. Rich, cheesy, messy, and delicious. The yellow peppers on the side were the perfect addition--one bite of fries, one bite of pepper, and it was pure perfection. Definitely a must-order if you're in the mood for comfort food. Burgers definitely smack. Been wanting to try this place for a while now and I'm glad I did. I ordered the hellapeno burger with waffle fries. It was huge! I had to eat it in sections. The smash burger was 6oz of delicious smashed beef topped with 2 huge onion rings, pepper jack cheese, jalapeño cline and smoky bacon! It also comes with "smack sauce" but I usually don't like that type of stuff so I got bbq instead. The burger was delicious. I fancy myself a burger connoisseur and this definitely ranks high among a tasty burger! It's definitely on the pricey side as my meal was about $25. Higher price for quality ingredients in my opinion. Definitely give it a try! read more

Got the baydestrean burger with sauce on the side and waffle fries. The burger itself was good. The smash had really good texture and was hanging out of the bun in that crispy edge way you want. But it was extremely heavy. I felt pretty gross after finishing it. I got the smack sauce on the side and I can only imagine how much heavier it would have been if it was inside the burger. The waffle fries seemed pricey at first ($5.50) until they came out. They are basically a two person portion and huge. Definitely split them with someone, I did and that felt like the right move. Overall I would go back but only if I was craving a super heavy smash burger. It is a welcome addition to San Leandro though, although I low key miss the chicken wing place it replaced. If they ever come out with a lighter option like a grilled chicken sandwich I would definitely come back more often. Service was great and the ambiance is giving fancy garage vibes. read more
