Lady Fingers - Crunchy Outside and Meaty Inside

Went recently, had Pad Thai and Egg Rolls and Eggplant. Good service. Had better Egg Rolls elsewhere.

    Crispy Calamari
    Kyle G.

Came here with a group and ordered a bunch of dishes. The calamari was crispy and well seasoned, and paired nicely with the seafood sauce. Pro tip: squeeze the lemon into the seafood sauce for an extra acidic kick + it also helps keep the calamari from getting soggy. We ordered the Pad Thai at regular spice level. It leaned pretty sweet with only a mild kick. My friend is Thai and thought the tamarind may have been replaced with ketchup or tomato for a more Americanized flavor. Definitely sweeter than what you'd find at a traditional Thai spot. The pumpkin curry with beef was ordered at the staff's suggestion and ended up being one of the highlights... nutty, spicy, and slightly sweet with a really nice balance of flavors. We also got the pineapple fried rice. I'm usually not a fan of pineapple on pizza, but this dish completely won me over. Solid choice. The larb was very onion-forward and sour, but in a good way... bright, refreshing, and nicely balanced with a pleasant crunch from the toasted rice powder. The basil eggplant with chicken was probably the weakest dish. The eggplant and chicken didn't really absorb much of the sauce, making it feel a bit underwhelming overall. Our total came out to $193 for six guys, and we finished everything (and we're big eaters). Portions are on the smaller side, so plan to order more than you think.

9/13/25 Stuffed Wings, Pumpkin Thai Tea and left over Silver Noodle Salad
    Lee D.

This would have been a 5 star review if the quantity/value was a little better. Quality/Quantity - Silver Noodle Salad $19.95 - Good flavors. The lettuce pieces were a little larger than I would have preferred, at least the pieces I got. I like them bite size. Single portion, well enough for two very light eaters, like ourselves. Stuffed Wings Appetizer - My wife's favorite order from Spice I Am in Alameda, so I made this my order so she could also try it here. I really liked the cucumber sauce that came with it. Good flavors but it was only two small wings for $18.95. Pad See Ew $18.95 - Beef, as my daughter wants more iron before our upcoming trip. Decent portions; but again, it was really meant for one person. Pumpkin Thai Tea $6 - Wow, my daughter added this last second and I got a sip. This was REALLY good! I can really recommend this! Overall the food was good, 5 stars. But we are lucky that we are light eaters as there was just enough food for us. Well actually, when I got home, I ate a HUGE bowl of popcorn with nuts, rice crackers, hot Cheetos, etc... So good! Next time I will upload a picture of this homemade snack. Ambiance - It has been so long since I have been here that I forgot about this place. My wife had to remind me that this was here. The place still looks good and with beautiful decor. Clean unisex restroom. Plenty of mall parking, just be careful of bad drivers and bad parkers. Open 7 days a week from 11am to 8pm, 8:30pm, or 9pm. See their website as Yelp's hours differ slightly. Service - 5 stars; friendly and welcoming. Patient, as they had an extensive menu and I needed time to get acquainted with it. It had been so long since I have been here. I couldn't remember anything about this place. Price - $71 + tip. Expensive for a salad, appetizer, one entree, and one drink. And leaving a little hungry still. For a bigger eater (in my younger days), this cost would have been for just one meal. Owner Comment - Congrats on your success since 2010. My wife reminds me that we were day one customers. I hope that was not the last time I was here, lol. It definitely sounds like my wife will be a regular customer now.

Beautiful decor setup for Mother's Day!

You come here for the Thai food and stay for the cute, cozy, family vibe atmosphere. Family owned-- shout out to Lisa and Jenny! You feel like you're a part of the family. They're super welcoming and the place is beautiful. They always have fresh flowers and currently have the place decked out with even more beautiful flowers for upcoming Mother's Day. A great spot to celebrate birthdays too. Food is delish! And portions are big in my opinion. Good to share or save if there's any left overs. I've tried multiple dishes and love the pumpkin curry with chicken (DELISH) and chicken pad thai. Today we tried the grilled salmon with veggies as well. Super tasty. Desserts and Thai teas are also a must try. There are also dairy free/vegan options for dishes and teas. Just ask! Beautiful spot to dine in while I've also done my fair share of placing orders for pickup. They're very attentive to making sure you're taken care of and you're not waiting for long. Parking lot can get pretty full with other establishments around, but we've always managed to get spots close by. Be mindful that they do close mid day (3-5P?) and reopen for dinner. Definitely recommend!

The thai ice coffee was nice and strong. The staff said it was sweet so she said would add more water to it. It was good. I forgot which noodle we got but it was good too. I wish the noodle portion was a bit more ;) The eggplant was delicious. Love the sauce. Also wish we had more eggplant ;) Staff are super nice and checks in. The plates and bowls are pretty. There are beautiful flowers everywhere. You can tell there is a lot of effort in the aesthetics of this place. The bathroom is clean and I like the decor and vibe.

    Jenny K.

Wonderful ambience, food and service. The food came out quickly. It was a great place to share food.

Pad Thai with Beef (left) & Pad See Ew with chicken (right)
    Vivian L.

I ordered Pad Thai with Beef & Pad See Ew with chicken for takeout. Was about a 25 minute wait. The chicken was a bit dry and the pad see ew was okay, nothing stood out. The pad thai with beef was better! Good portions! They did provide utensils & hot sauce. I would order from here again if I'm craving Thai food and for something quick.

    Pad Thai!!

About to get my Thai fix. Definitely and always the best go-to place. And definitely need to get that salad dressing they have or ask if they sell it by the gallon lol. Best dressing on cold salad on a hot day.

Special pad Thai with thick noodles! Yum!

Integrated into downtown Hayward just a block from the theater and other eateries and drink spots, Khao Hom has made a strong impression in the local community drawing a good following for weekend brunch as well as weekday lunch. With street parking right in front as well as sharing free public parking in the lot behind the restaurant, once you've slogged through traffic to get to this area, you'll be able to easily park and venture in for your food experience. As you enter, you'll likely need to wait for one of their staff members to seat you in one of their two dining spaces. The rooms are well lit and enhance the ambiance of your meal (and photos) with natural lighting. When seated, you'll get their food and drinks menu in addition to finding their dessert menu at the table. As standard, each table gets a carafe of water for you to serve yourselves. Their menu is quite extensive in representing popular Thai flavors with a bit of flare. You'll find curries, soups, noodles and chef specialties in their own sections of the menu. They also have some alcohol infused drinks for those looking for a full brunch experience. As a novice to some Thai dishes, I did have to ask the staff to explain a bit about certain dishes, but there were a few that caught my eye and never let go. Thai tea - flavorful and bold; rich but not too sweet Matcha latte - rich matcha flavor and creamy; best sipped and can be packed in a to-go cup if you don't finish Tom yum crab omelet - beautifully crafted omurice-esque dish where you'll find white rice encased in an egg omelet topped with succulent pieces of crab meat and smothered in tom yum soup. This dish is not only a pleasure to look at but the taste and textures in each bite will have you salivating for more until the dish completely disappears. This unique take is a must get for first timers! Roti gai tod - crispy fried yet succulent chicken served with a small serving of creamy yellow curry, white rice, and a roti alongside their delicious chili sauce. Fantastic balance of textures and flavors will have your tongue dancing from the spices. Tom kha soup - a bowl of comfort with a whole lot of shredded chicken, red onions, and mushrooms with a few big quarters of fresh tomatoes. It's not as creamy as I would like but the flavor is there with its abundance in lemongrass. The portion is large as one order can easily split into two bowls. Fried ice cream - a meal topper and sweet indulgence for those looking to try something new and rarely found elsewhere. This giant meteorite of a breaded and fried ball of vanilla ice cream is topped with chocolate fudge, powdered sugar, a generous helping of whipped cream and plenty of fruit (strawberries, blueberries, kiwi, grapes, and cantaloupe). Definitely shareable and a surprising star of their dessert menu - they could definitely do more to advertise this! The staff were super friendly and quick to take dirty dishes out of the way. They kept the place clean, served the food promptly and treated all of their customers with respect and smiles. Top notch crew from the front of the house to the back. Furthermore, should you need the restrooms, they do have two gender neutral rooms that were decently maintained. Overall, Khao Hom is not your everyday Thai restaurant nor is it your run of the mill brunch spot - this is a unique experience with food created out of passion to merge these together. The result is an aesthetically pleasing yet hunger extinguishing meal that will have you discovering new flavors and craving for more. With its proximity to the city center, it's a great a spot to plan out a lunch or brunch before a nice stroll around or a movie. Thai food has never looked and tasted so good!

I may be critiquing them harder than others on their papaya salad and Nam Khao because my mom does it best (no bias...). However, their portions are large and the flavors are great all around. I think they do some items better than others, but I have yet to be disappointed by any of their food. It's always great to try something new on the menu and be pleasantly surprised. But aside from the food, the customer service and ambiance encourages us to come back every time. They're kind, patient, and attentive all around. Then, as much as we loved the banh mi, the banner and the sidewalk sign advertising them as a new lunch option last year seemed almost like they were really, really trying to pull in more people any way they could. Every time I walked past this place, it was either empty or there were one to two tables with guests at a time. So when the word finally broke a few days ago that the owners have sold the place and are closing, I felt really sad, but wasn't surprised. It's definitely the end of an era, and is one of those longtime San Leandro restaurants in this strip of E 14th that has a comforting, early 2000s vibe -- and is now gone, like so many before them. It's frustrating, especially because the likelihood of them possibly getting replaced by a chain or yet another taqueria or Chinese place is high (though they apparently don't know what will be moving in after them). Dropped by yesterday with my husband for a final lunch. He got the bun bo hue and I got the yellow curry stir fry and fried rice. Everything was hot, fresh, and delicious, and the restaurant was nearly entirely full with people having their own last meals and saying their goodbyes to the owners. While the owner was incredibly nice, service was terrible. She was overworked, working the counter, packing up to-go orders, taking table orders, bringing out food, AND bussing tables alone. The party next to us was a little frustrated that she still hadn't come by to take their order and went to the counter to flag her down. I don't know how much longer Le Soleil would've remained viable if service has been like this for months. It's a sad situation, but I wish nothing but the best for the owners, especially if they decide to open another restaurant in the future.

Both items are yummy options with the Thai pork leg stew (Khao kha mu) being sweet and savory with a variety of textures from the pork (gelatinous skin), tender meat along with other elements in this dish. NN Thai's version was good and reminded me of the Chinese-style of pickled pigs feet with sweet, dark vinegar. The side of pickled mustard greens, Chinese broccoli, steamed rice, boiled egg and side of garlic, chili vinegar helped to cut thru the sweetness as I'm usually not a fan of more sweet in my savory dishes. Just a preference For a ghost kitchen, it's a rarity a business interacts with the customer but the 2 owners/chef went above and beyond. There was a minor issue (system issues) with my order which to be honest didn't have much thought. The owner went out of her way and met with me to apologize for the delay, explained they're working out the kinks and offered a complimentary beverage which was not expected. A super sweet gesture and great customer service. Thank you! BTW the drinks were amazing! NN Thai Street Food is 2 weeks new to East Bay Eats ghost kitchen so be patient as the food is worth a visit!
