The Lake Avenue location is my go-to--staff is friendly, drop-off and pickup are easy, and my clothes are consistently done right. Pricing has been fair, and they often run specials or coupons, which is a nice bonus. This is one of their smaller locations, with alterations in a separate building next door (haven't tried that yet). Parking is easy, and you can walk to nearby shops while you're there. This review is specifically for alterations! I've had a formal dress and a few pairs of pants tailored by Miriam and I've loved the results every time. The process is pretty easy. You go to the tailer studio, try on your item, and Miriam will note what adjustments she has to make. Then you take it next door where you get your bill and when you can pick it up. I would definitely recommend this location for last minute alterations. I took a pair of red slacks that needed to be hemmed and I received them at the end of the day for an additional fee. Miriam was so kind when she helped. I brought the dress shoes that I would wear with the slacks and she explained the different hems they offered. I dropped off the slacks at 9am and I picked them up right before closing which was perfect for my work schedule. Miriam is a dream, I had a wedding to go to on Saturday and I dropped off my dress on Thursday. The skirt of my dress was a little too snug, and I just wanted the seam to be let out a bit. Miriam gave her expert opinion on how best to accomplish that and assured she would do he best in such a short amount of time. I have been a loyal customer for over 15 years. Even when I moved to another city I still brought my dry cleaning here but over the last year I have been disappointed with the service over and over again. I always let them know I do not want creases in my pants every time I drop off my dry cleaning but they keep on putting creases in my pants. This last time of course they put creases again and they forgot to do a button repair. They even gave my back my pants with a red colored tag that says needs repair. If I see the tag why can't they? It's overall just poor service and unfortunately I will not be going back there again. read more

I went in to inquire how much one layer dress would cost to hem. The lady behind the counter/sewing machine took her time to come help me. When she finally got up and acknowledged me she said $75. I asked why it costs so much and she rudely answered because the dress is big. I said what do you mean big? It's one single layer and I only need a straight hem. Miriam is fantastic! She is honest and a true professional. While other tailors are too scared to touch South Asian garments with heavy embroidery and beading, for Miriam it is no problem! I am able to take my silk, cotton, chiffon, or net blouses and tunics to her for alteration and Miriam handles all my alterations with ease. She can take in or let out shirts, add shape, taper sleeves, shorten shirts, add darts, or any other job. Her work is clean and elegant, and she works very efficiently.
