I found this to be very affordable, totally adequate, and the kind of service I will return to again and again because I am sick of paying 3 to 4 times the price for my pants to be hemmed. Let's start off with a positive. It's affordable - I only paid $5, however the jacket is now completely ruined. There's a black v shaped stitch in the middle of the jacket sleeve. Vintage Galanos designer jacket from the 70s. The picture says it all. I wish she would've just told me it couldn't be done. I feel really bad leaving one star but that's kind of what this deserves sadly but I'll settle on 2 because I do have a soft spot for small businesses BUT they really need to step up their game. Edit: I was so frustrated about the jacket that I completely forgot to look at the top that needed restitching near the collar. For reasons I'll never understand, she decided to repair the tiny hole that was near the seam by adding a big black patch to the back. It looks worse X100 I should've just left the hole. All I can do is cry laugh at this point since both pieces are now ruined. This is just terrible work all around. read more

Ok. Not the BEST, impeccable, meticulous alteration out there but they sure are fast and cheap. Their usual turnaround is 24 hours. I altered both shoulders of a dress and it was only $12. There might be a language barrier for more complex alterations so, be sure to be clear and double M-F 8am-5pm Sat-Sun not exactly sure but I know they close early read more

The women (I think her name is Queta?) has tailored dozens of our clothing items, curtains, etc., and she has consistently delivered with reasonably priced, fast, and quality service. I've been to a few other more expensive tailors in Pasadena but always end up coming back to this place because I can always count on them for reliable and quick service. While other places have been hit or miss, I've consistently been satisfied with her work. If you ask, she can often deliver same-day turnaround. Highly recommend! read more

I will roll up my pants for years instead of taking them to a tailor. Somehow I got it in my mind that it takes a lot of time or money to have a tailor make any changes so that my pants actually fit me. I was totally wrong. I brought in three pairs of expensive jeans, all that needed a hem and two that needed to be taken in at the waist. They were done within a few days at a reasonable price. I was probably in the shop trying them on and getting them pinned for 5 minutes. Do yourself a favor, stop hitching up your pants like an old farmer or dragging your too-long pants on the ground like you're some dirtbag. You deserve nice things. Everything in my closet was too large after a 40# weight loss. Many items were ok to part with, but there were about 10 outfits that could not be replaced or that I really, really loved. I took all of these to Express over a two month period. Everything turned out great! Even things other tailors told me were impossible- like turning a size 16 dress into a size 8. The prices are really good. Even one thing which I did not like so much was re-done for free and with no hassle. I like that! The most reasonable place I've ever been. I had been turned down by South Lake Tailor for a dress that I needed hemmed for my bachelorette party because they said it would be too difficult and that if I did want it they were going to charge me $100. I went to Express Tailor and they said no problem. $30 for the job and they did it in a day and a half. I'm impressed and will be returning. read more

I went to go have a stitch that had come undone on a shirt fixed. The lady told me it would be $3 and then decided it would be $6. Cheap enough that I went ahead and said okay since she said it would be done by 3 PM that same day. I returned to pick up the shirt, and the stitching was crooked, messy, and it was the wrong type of stitch. I told her that it wasn't right but all she said was "yeah it's good". I have come to realize that the lady behind the counter doesn't speaks English. Don't bother coming to this place unless you want to pay for a horrible job. read more

I took a dress there to have the plastic zipper replaced with a better one and have a few stitches placed in the neckline which gaped open. I went to pick it up on the date it was promised and it wasn't ready; strike one. When I picked it up on the next date promised it was brought out and nothing had been done and the woman who works there attempted to charge me for services not rendered; strike two. When I told her it was the same zipper she insisted it was replaced and it clearly was not and no stitching was done to the neckline; strike three. Do Not go there for service or you will get your garment absolutely ruined. Trust me I learned the hard way. They utterly ruined my $1,500 Bottega Veneta dress. I went in for a simple hemming job by hand on my brand new long evening gown the other day. I modeled the dress in the shop in my heels and the lady pinned to the length to my desire which is to floor and covering my heels with train in the back. After they got their hands on it, surprise, surprise...it ended up becoming an above-the-ankle cocktail dress when I got it back. Unbelievable!!! It makes me angry to think that they can call themselves tailors. No excuses whatsoever for such horrible mistake. Think twice before taking your stuff to them.
