I was in yesterday for a pedicure from a really nice older gentleman. He was so nice and it felt like he was doing everything you expect during a pedicure, but I'm afraid my toes look so bad. I paid and tipped because idk how to handle these types of things. I asked for sharp square toe nails bc they were long and I could achieve that. SO DISAPPOINTED booked 2 gel mani pedi for my niece and I. I was happy to see they where busy when I arrived thinking they must be good. Since I'm looking for a regular spot as I just moved here. Sat in our seats put our feet in the water and I ask that they add some hot water because mine was cold... i'm ignored and I sit there for 10 minutes while they start on my nice. My niece was left in the chair by one woman who I believe was the owner with the exfoliants scrub still on her legs. Thank Goodness the woman that followed up on her stuck with her and did an amazing job to make sure she was happy. Back to me I finally got someone to come and start working on me I continued to ask for hot water and was ignored I made it very clear that I did not want my toenails cut that I only wanted them filed but I was ignored. She started to put the gel on and I asked that she bring the color closer to the skin of my toe so that my full nail is completely covered and there is no gap. I was ignored!! I asked again... I even pointed it out to the owner who was sitting next to her working on another woman. I took it for what it was and realized that I wasn't going to be happy with my pedicure but was looking forward to my manicure and was moved to the table so that the owner could work on my design. When she sat down instead of soaking my hands and cutting my cuticles she used a nail filer a crossed my skin... as she was doing this she kept repeating how short my nails were.. now my nails might not be long but they exceed the length of my finger tip. After she had mentioned the length of my nails four times she made it a point to tell me that the design I chose would not look good and proceeded to convince me I should do something else. I took my hand out of hers looked her in the eyes and said please charge me for my nieces manicure and pedicure and mine I no longer want you to work on my hands. I went here yesterday to treat myself to a manicure for the first time in years. I got a full set with gel ($35.) The price should have been an indicator. The man who did my nails was so rude. He expected me to know what to do, I've had 2 manicures in my life: 4 years ago. At one point he visibly rolled his eyes at me. I almost started crying in the store. This was supposed to be a special treat, and relaxing. The manicure itself was rushed and sloppy. The man was clearly rushing through. I don't think the tools were very clean, he borrowed a nail clipper from another employee and didn't clean it. My right thumb acrylic is completely sideways, and after just over 24 hours the polish chipped! I could do my nails myself and not get chips for a week. I finally stopped biting my nails, and went to get a gel manicure. They filed all my nails off and into weird shapes. The male nail tech didn't soak my fingers, instead took the drill and drilled at my cuticles. Then he tried to start painting them even with dust all over my hands. I've been coming here a very long time, but I'm afraid the friendliness of most of the staff isn't enough anymore. 3 months ago I was getting my nails done and not even 10 minutes in, I got asked to move and wait because the guy had an appointment. I used to come here a couple years ago and did enjoy the service but found it was more expensive than others. But then after too many mess-ups with no apologies at VP nails and some other places, I came back to Fashion Nails. I only see Tina for my nails. But her sister does the best pedicures! She really is thorough. And they always do a nice lotion and massage at the end and with hot towel. And they can even build up an acrylic toenail if you have skin issues like psoriasis, etc. I usually get an acrylic set but this time I wanted some thing I saw on Pinterest. I call it an "Umbre French Manicure". Tina used powder and a brush to apply it and then just a topcoat with uv light at very end only. The finished nails feel much thinner than an acrylic set. But they're very smooth and just beautiful! It was a bit more expensive but definitely worth the extra $5 or so...(I also got my eyebrows waxed and my total (pre-tip) was $65). And when I've taken a girlfriend, they make strides to keep us together so we can chat! Hope this helps! Never come here. I came three times each as an optimistic person who thought the previous bad time was a non recurring event. This place is extremely unhygienic and the workers are incredibly sloppy and impatient. Just recently got my nails done and the tech was checking the clock the entire time, was painting and filing while not even looking at my nails, and painted over dust and crust. Overall, I think they do a great job and they are reasonably priced. I do like some nail techs better than others but I do walk in service so I don't always get the same person. They take appointments so if you find someone you like and can plan ahead you can request them rather than walking in and just settling for whoever is available. I went here to get my nails done for prom. When I tried showing the nail technician the design I wanted on my nails, instead of even trying, all he said was, "No. don't have it." He then proceeds to drill off my previous gel manicure, which who drills off gel nails? He hardly soaked them and it was only painful watching him drill and thin down my nails. He then started filing my nails, which I did not want. I just went in for a repaint. He filed them shorter than they already were, but I had just gotten them done, at a different salon, less than a week ago. He did not say a single thing to me the entire time and did not even ask if I liked the color. While he was doing my nails I was watching the TV clearly not paying attention and just switching my hands in and out as he demanded. After three layers of gel polish, he freaked out because the light for the left hand was not on and none of the polish cured. He continued to yell at me for not telling him that the light was not and told me to tell him next time, but again, I was not even paying attention. I have frequented Fashion Nails for six years. I get gel manicures every three weeks and regular pedicures quarterly as does my daughter who also gets her eyebrows waxed, I've brought friends and family here over the years, so we give Fashion Nails a lot of consistent business. Showing up on a random Tuesday night to find them closed ninety minutes earlier than their advertised 8P closing time is a pretty crappy business practice. He kept making me jump by digging metal implements around and under my toenails. I've gone there about 5 times when I was in a bind and close. I do not recommend. I have an issue everytime. On this occasion my sister and I both got gel manicures. She was done about 20 minutes before me and the person doing my nails was continually messing up and getting polish everywhere. The manager even kept coming over to look. I had a clear coat of gel stuck on my skin surrounding my nails, and the paint was not even or covering the ends of my nails and it looked very poor. The manager told me it was because I have short nails (even though they were normal length and the same as my sisters whose nails looked fine).
