I've been visiting Dr. Snyder for about the last 2 or so years now, and he's always been extremely welcoming and friendly. He is patient and careful in his explanations, and he genuinely has your well-being in mind. I also really appreciate the fact that this is a family-run operation, and has been for a while now, so there is a level of care that they pride themselves on, as it's their name and reputation on the line. If there was an area that I wished for, it would be for an online portal so I didn't have to call in to make an appointment, but his staff is very friendly as well, so it isn't that much of a bother. Wow. You accused me of taking the screws out of the sunglasses. You told me that I would not be issued a refund. You said screws come out of glasses at anytime. I asked you back in July should screws be popping out of 500 dollar glasses. You said "Yes". Additionally, I just spoke to your receptionist today at 3:29 PM and she said "Screws come out of 700, 800 dollar glasses". Attached is the glasses you supposedly fixed by tightening screws. Last year, Harlan Snyder examined me for a potential retinal tear on my left eye. Another complication I had were heavily cataracted lenses, which I also got replaced since I saw him. He managed to spot the tear through my very cloudy lens when even the machine was struggling to take a picture of my retina through my lens. He immediately referred me to Yi Jiang at San Gabriel Retina. Dr. Jiang operated the same day. His staff, Alex and Maritza, are wonderful. This is a father and son team optometry. I made my appointment with the son who is Dr Harlan Snyder. I was very pleased with his service and with his friendly staff. He is very patient, nice and caring. They are located on Chapel and Main Street in Alhambra. They are also open on some Saturdays It's a small little building with the parking lot in the back. Very conveniently located. They have a large selection of frames for women, men and children. My wife had a pathetic experience two months back. They treat patients like crap. They only look at the potential business, not patient care. They always book an appointment when she shows up; they ask her to come another. This happened twice. When she asked about it, they were insulting towards her. The previous day, she called and confirmed the appointment by herself. The reason for posting now is I am in another optometrist now for her checkup. We both feel the difference in the hospitality and courtesy of the new one. Snyder was a terrific experience. Their reviews are a trap. read more

Snyder optometry is an amazing family owned and operated small business. They are located off of Main Street in a quaint little neighborhood style house/office space. I love that they run their business from a converted old home. They have a small parking lot in back, however I've always found street parking easily. Dr. Harlan Snyder has a great personality and is always so kind and energetic. I've never waited for long periods of time before an appointment and Dr. Snyder does make time to get to know his patients, and remember them! I came to him for about a year for contacts, glasses and overall eye health. Recently, I expressed to him that I was interested in laser eye surgery and he was very supportive! He referred me out to a local dr and has seen me for all of my follow up care. I would highly recommend this office to anyone and all ages. Of course, I found a new place which meet my expectations. Unlike Snyder optometry, my new optometrist did the annual eye exam and dilated eye exam in the same day. It just took only 35 mins at the maximum. The only difference was that they had all the modern facilities to do this.I now realise that how outdated and old your techniques, machines and equipment's are. It would be great if you and your staff take a master course about how to be courteous and respectful to your patients and how shouting at your patients will lead to bad reviews. I want to correct your 4 year claim. I came to Snyder optometry for 3 years and quit after the 3 years of bad experience. Nobody wants to go to a place where the doctor and staff shout at patients. read more

As much as I don't want to give bad review well I have to this time. I've been coming here for 3 years and don't have much issues. But this time they just changed my appointment without my permission. The lady who called me on Monday February 6 at 9.40 am said "your appointment tomorrow " which is Tuesday. I replied my appointment on Wednesday not Tuesday don't change my appointment without my permission. I made appointment from January and I asked day off to do my eye exam, what a waste! She said yeah doctor needs to do screening so he's available tomorrow at 1.45 pm, he's not gonna be at office in Wednesday. She replied theres nothing she can do. What a bummer! They don't respect your time. They don't care about your time at all. I literally lost my hours at work and they just don't care even you made appointment a month before. Beware. I cannot keep asking days off from work, I usually ask day off and filled my day with appointments so I don't lose too much hours. I'm not going to back to this place. It's not worth it. Even Dr Harlan called it just you loose the trust. I appreciate good intentions tho , he addressed the issue that they made wrong appointment but no more read more

I wasn't too thrilled to find out I needed glasses, but the staff at Snyder Optometry really made it a pleasant experience. The location is very clean and organized with an overwhelming selection of glasses. I went in on a Saturday and Alex welcomed me with a warm smile and cheerful spirit. (Grateful that they are open on Saturdays!) We went over glasses and contacts to explore the best option for me. She explained the numerous options such as daily wear contacts, monthly, glasses with or without glare, etc. She was very knowledgeable and made me feel at easy. Dr. Snyder (the son) helped me out, pro bono, 2 days ago and I really appreciate it! I have my own eye doctor in the South Bay but my glasses were about to come apart. Some friends of mine go to Dr. Snyder and I've been lucky enough to have won several Rotary Club teacher grants in the past so I had met Dr. Snyder (the dad) years ago. I took a chance, called and stated that I was not a patient. I asked if I could bring my glasses in just before closing time. The staff was very nice and said yes. Dr. Snyder (son) took the time to fix the earpieces on my glasses, tightened or replaced a spring and asked if he could fix the other pairs I had with me! I highly recommend Snyder Optometry. I was visiting my daughter for Thanksgiving and woke up with a very painful red eye. I called Snyder Optometry and the very friendly, front desk receptionist fit me in for a same day appointment. When I arrived I only had to wait 5 minutes to be seen. Dr. Harlan Snyder was very knowledgeable and compassionate. He diagnosed my problem and gave me a prescription for eye drops. Within 2 days my eye felt much better and the infection was gone. This place is very awesome. Such a great atmosphere and professional place, I really enjoy going to small businesses like this and getting that one and one attention. I felt right at home when I entered and didnt have to wait too long. The plus of course I just walked here instead of driving ;-) The staff was extremely helpful and even helped me used both my 2 years premium from my vision plan, so helped me pay the lowest possible for eye exam and contacts. The Best service ever, I prefer Dr Snyder's office instead of one of those large chain vision type stores. The office is cute, quaint with a vintage feel. I love going in and feeling like it's the 1950s and when I come out everything will be clean less cluttered and happy. The ladies that work there are super friendly and very helpful, they make you feel welcomed, at ease and as if you're family. I once was working at a children's dentist pedodontist and I got Uveitis, Dr Snyder took one look at me and saved my eye balls, I'm forever grateful. You will LOVE this place ! read more
