What a delightful experience. We came to Fast Break while on vacation in Seaside Heights. Everything about this restaurant was amazing. The service we received from Hazel was exceptional. She was pleasant, outgoing and attentive. The food was both delicious and plentiful. We asked to speak with the owner to tell her how impressed we were with our total experience. After speaking with Cindy, the owner, we realized why our experience was superb; she definitely sets the tone. We will definitely return next summer when we are back in NJ! read more

YUM. Their potatoes that come with almost every meal are GREAT. I used to always get the eggs florentine and it would never disappoint! I started getting their version of pork roll, egg, and cheese on a croissant and that too is awesome. My sister also gets an omlette and then asks them to put it in a wrap. I am so picky about my breakfast and this place does not disappoint. I have passed this going into seaside for two years now and have always wanted to stop. Weekends seem busy but we came on a Friday around 10 in the off-season and there was no wait. First off the women at the counter were beyond pleasant and so attentive and very sweet. They really made the experience top notch. I got the eggs bennies with sausage instead of ham and OMG! Eggs were cooked perfect and sausage and hollandaise was so good, potatoes were cubed not hashed and were perfection. I also couldn't resist a short stack of blueberry pancakes and seriously they were some of the best I have had in a long time. I took most of those home but the cake part was flavorful and the price couldn't be beat. I don't have any pics of what I ate because it was that good and I was starving. Got the fast break omelette and requested salad instead of their home fries and toast. I was charged extra for the request and literally got two pieces of small ass lettuce as my salad. If you want big portions I wouldn't go here. I live in toms river and if you're looking for a good breakfast place, C & G's is a million times better. If I could give two and a half stars I would. I'm all for supporting small businesses and family owned restaurants but in this case I would even prefer IHOP over Fast Break. My breakfast experience is a priority and if I don't leave with a hearty smile, full stomach, and a nice bout of energy, I take it very personally. UPDATE: the owner went out of her way to contact me which shows how much she really cares about her restaurant as well as her customers. I may have written this review during an emotion-driven state. While my opinion is bias (obviously) I really appreciate the owner taking the time out of her day to contact me. I recommend you guys to try this place out yourselves and make your own executive decision. Yummm best egg benedict with homefries I've had here in Jersey so far !! Unfortunately I live 2 hours away but when I am down here defiantly will be my go to spot !! Best pancakes in New Jersey (if not the rest of the universe)! It is the tragedy of Ocean County that there are few restaurants worth going to. Thank goodness for Fast Break! The food is delicious and well-priced. Again, the pancakes are second to none; they are fluffy, heavenly, and never dry (I would say "moist", but I know that sends people into fits of rage). This has become my favorite breakfast nook. The place has been there since I was a kid, although passed around in owners, the present crew has got it going. The food is good, decent portions and prices are good. The draw here besides the food is the service, very friendly and its sincere. Not just fake smiles and you can tell they have a loyal clientele, Nothing fancy, but the design is a 70's retro design and hey ...its just cool ! One of the few places that still makes home fries like mom, dam their good, my only suggestion is a bigger portion of them. I wish they bottled their fresh squeezed OJ , Id buy them! Its that good!. The place is okay. Food is really average but I had to lower to two stars because all of our meals (6) were closer to cold than warm or hot. When the diner is full, it is extremely noisy. We went here because Shut Up and Eat had a really long wait. We're glad we did! The restaurant is really cute. It's big enough that you won't have to wait for too long even if there is a line. The staff is very friendly! Food is decently priced. Would go back! I had a veggie omelette in a wrap that had cream cheese in it! Chocolate chip pancakes which were yummy. This place gets very busy so you know the food is good! The only issue is that it's a very small diner and the hostess had a difficult time remembering who was still waiting and in what order. I stopped in on MDW and wow, talk about being overwhelmed! There was absolutely no system in there besides chaos! It seemed like there was a lot of new people, but still, the lack of training in prep for a holiday weekend couldn't have been any more obvious. We sat at the counter & must have waited close to 10 min before someone even looked in our direction to acknowledge us. The only reason this place got 2 stars was because of the 2 cooks who actually knew what they was doing! Meanwhile, waitstaff was preoccupied by their toaster more than customer service. As if the Egyptian decor in a 50s looking diner wasn't enough to make your head spin, just try watching the waitstaff. This place was an amazing find for breakfast. At first the pics made me feel like it was a cramped cafeteria, but that's not the case at all. The walls are turquoise which made it bright and homely like a family breakfast. We picked our own table and got service right away. This place is super cute and I finally had an opportunity to go in and try it out. I have to say that in the 20 years I have lived in the area, I've never seen the place open but they assured me that they're definitely open everyday! So my mom and I came for breakfast one morning and I got the Happy Herman - so so good! It was a sausage, egg and cheese sandwich with breakfast potatoes inside and on the side. This is one of those places we had been meaning to try, but had other other "staple" breakfast places so we never got around to it. One day, our normal place wasn't accepting credit cards and we had no cash so we took the opportunity to try Fast Break. Now, Fast Break is our new go to place!! Prices are reasonable, service is great, and the food is delicious. I've had both breakfast and lunch and both have been out of this world.
