First time visit for breakfast. It is a little hidden in a shopping center off of Rt 37. It is a nice set up, big dining room, has a counter option and the staff is friendly. I went with a basic pork roll egg and cheese sandwich and it was good. The roll was a little basic, if I came again I would ask for it to be toasted on the grill with some butter. Egg was cooked correct, the cheese was only on one half of the sandwich however. Coffee was fine. Waitress did disappear after the food arrived and my daughter had to wait a bit to ask for hot sauce for her scrambled eggs. Ive eaten here several times and it to me is not living upto its prices. The food served looked like it came off a dirty grill with black food particles all over the pork roll and eggs. The eggs were incorrectly cooked to order. The cost for a cup of coffee to go is high compared to what you can get one in a variety of flavors at the near by wawa for. After years of loyalty ill be taking myself and family somewhere else..... The service was fair but hearing one waitress complaining about a tip left not being enough was out of pocket. A tip is not mandatory! Be gracious and work hard you'd get more if servicing the tables more than sitting with someone at one of the tables during your shift. They need to clean the bathroom more often it had urine all over the seat and floor. read more

Amazing place for breakfast in the Toms River area. In an area with already great breakfast spot, this place is one of the best ones. The service was super quick and friendly. We went when it was packed and was still able to be seated in 10 minutes. The food itself was cheap and delicious. The egg dish I had was tasty, filling, and the right amount of spicy. We also ordered a side of pork roll and mozzarella sticks and they were done right too. The place itself is cozy and cute. I apologize for the tardiness of my review and the fact that I have no photos. I promise I will upload photos the next time I eat there! So I wanted to take the dog to meet my ex, I wanted to try this place based on a friends praise and reviews. So it's in a big shopping plaza. It's kinda a little hard to find at first, it's where floor decor is. You cannot see it from route 37. We sat outside. It's probably not as comfortable as sitting inside but everybody had their dogs so it worked out. The food and service are excellent. It's an old style country diner; comfort food, big plate, extraordinary home fries, eggs over easy cooked perfectly, buttered white toast thick cut, perfect old style griddle pancakes, not the thick fluffy kind that you get at IHOP. That was Saturday around lunchtime. On Sunday, my friend that recommended this place came down, so we took the dog again for breakfast. I had a similar meal except this time I had the French toast and pork roll. Again, eggs were cooked to perfection. Candy, the owner, was kind enough to invite us to visit and check out their dog friendly outdoor tables. This morning they had country music playing rather loudly and I can't stand most country music. I've been here several times and they have never played country before, otherwise I would have not returned. I was told that the owner only plays country because it's a country diner. Those who enjoy country music are out numbered by those who do not. Idk why but country angers me like nothing else and was forced to leave after taking a couple of bites of my breakfast. I could have asked to take it to go, but I had to leave before I lost it. My wife and I wanted another breakfast spot aside from "the diner" and I remembered C & G's, which is about 10 min from our home. It's a Saturday morn at 10am, we expected a mob scene. The waitress was busy as crap but was super friendly and answered all questions and even offered her recommendations for her favorite picks. The menu is expansive and you can get pretty much anything you want from breakfast to excellent lunch dishes. We've been here several times and love the different coffee flavors as well as the extra large omlettes, and the home fries with peppers and onions - as long as you ask for them to be well done. The bonus is that they have cholula. Despite the layout of the tables this place isn't annoyingly noisy. Very much recommend. read more

Ari is one of the sweetest people I have ever met in my life, was prompt and attentive, and had a wonderful sense of humor. Not only did her happy glow somehow top how delicious the food is, but I heard her thanking the cooks for doing a fabulous job, and then she let the older women at the table next to me know that two $20 bills were stuck together and asked them if they meant to give her that much money. She easily could have pocketed the extra $20 and called it a day, but she was honest, which made me appreciate her even more. Go for the cheese grits, and stay for the Ari. I ordered a grilled cheeese with bacon with two eggs over easy on the side. There was a nice amount of bacon and grilled perfectly. Mom got the two eggs over easy with home fries and a side of rib eye steak. The thin steak was cooked Med rare and a nice addItion for only $8. II had some home fries they were nice especially when you mix in the over easy egg with them gives it a nice eggy creamy sauce. My father had a sausage egg and chees sandwich prepared with two thin sausage patties on a round roll. The food wAs delicious and what you expect when you order breakfast. C & G's is my family's favorite for Sunday brunch so when I visit we always come here. Today's we celebrated my aunts 88th! The staff all came out and sang as they served her breakfast with candles. Adorable! We were a part of 11 and they accommodated us perfectly. I ordered the Hammy Bones easy and the scramble was excellent! The bounty of meat and potatoes ensures a very satisfying and filling breakfast. They have expanded and remodeled since I was here in 2019. Then allowed to substitute tomatoes for the potatoes. I tasted the The Big Rube and was really good. The corn beef had great flavor and it was a decent plate. I even like the touch of the deli pickle! I'm a sucker for deli pickles. I wasn't too keen on the waitress. Felt like there was no smile or personality. Also the side of bacon my mother got was really greasy and you can feel it in your stomach when you swallowed. Overall, I would return on occasion. I ordered the combo with eggs, taylor ham, home fries, french toast, coffee and an english muffin The eggs were the only thing edible on the plate. 2 paper thin slices of taylor ham with burn marks,. The home fries were burnt and also had a funny taste (not spiced) . French toast was flavorless. I guess they never heard of cinnamon and vanilla. This was also burnt. The english muffin was under toasted, and almost raw. They should also be embarrassed at the brown water they called coffee. The toast that girlfriend had did not have a butter taste on the toast.
