This was my first time trying mideastern food and I am IN LOVE! We came here on my lunch break because it had the word "fast" in it and sounded interesting. When we walked in and seen it was a sit down restaurant we got a little nervous that we might not have enough time so we didn't get to spend a lot of time looking at the menu and ordered quickly, BUT we ended up making some excellent choices anyways! The falafel and Biryani rice were both amazing! The rice had so much flavor and the portion was HUGE. My husband and I split both and we still ended up taking it home! Always looking for a new place. Even better and new middle eastern place with Falafels, but the menu has got a bit for everyone. Wow! What a greeting! Asked if return or first time. They went through the menu and explained dishes and sauces. The restaurant is VERY clean. Tables are cleared and sanitized when customers leave. Self serve drink station, also kept clean. I had a basic Falafel sandwich w/fries. The falafel balls were crunchy, I like, and served with lettuce, tomato, sauce, and a little different... pickle slices. I'm more use to cucumber slices. Another twist was it was pressed!!!! I liked that too. My better half was hoping for a Gyro, but no Gyro. So she had the Star Spangles Burger with fries. Awesome!!!! She could only eat 1/2. We both loved the crunchy fries. Rock and Alternative music playing and billboards hanging on the walls. There are also TV's for those who don't have someone across the table. The worst part of this place is the name. It just doesn't fit with their excellent food. The menu is a little intimidating at first but the staff is excellent and will explain everything and call you by your first name the whole time. A nice touch. We have been there multiple times and the food is always top notch. Whether it be the swarma, tangene, or anything else, it is a symphony of spices and flavors in your mouth. It's more of a lunch stupor place than a high end restaurant but if you are looking for middle eastern food, this is the place!! read more

This place Is truly deserving of a five star rating. The thing that separates this restaurant from the others is their superior service. I've never had much middle eastern food so the first time I visited the I was greeted by the owner who offered all sorts of recommendations and explanations for the dishes, and the every time I've visited they also double check that the orders are correct before anything goes out the door. I went to Fast Eddie's this past weekend and my boyfriend and we were impressed with the welcoming atmosphere and of course the AMAZING FOOD. We both ordered the chicken eddy however, my boyfriend got the "Greek Freak" style which included all of their sauces. I was a little jealous of his because of how well all the sauces blended together without making the pita soggy. The owners went out of their way to make sure everyone was enjoying their meals and even gave us some recommendations to try next time. Literally stop what you are doing. Stop now and run. Run to Fast Eddy's and have some of the best Middle Eastern food you'll ever have in your life. We stopped on the way to a concert in Jacksonville (and right after IKEA) and wanted a good meal before a night out. We were waited on by Ed (as in Fast Eddy's), who ran through the entire menu and gave great suggestions. We decided on splitting the Big Beef Eddy (think a super steak gyro) and put the full "Greek Freak" sauces on it, which were 4 sauces and hummus that take your sandwich over the top. Talk about a flavor bomb! No time for pictures, as it evaporated in seconds. The fries were crispy, well-seasoned, and incredibly tasty. Then Ed, who is just a good guy and seemed to just know everyone, told us we had to try the spicy chicken curry (a family recipe of 100+ years)! And my goodness, I'm glad we did. It was spicy, yet flavorful, like my mouth had fireworks. My partner couldn't get enough of the curry! Top it all off with great service, friendly people, and actually reasonable prices (it's pricier than your average fast casual restaurant, but honestly after trying it, we think these prices a DEAL), and we'll be back for sure! This place was amazing. We have had Mediterranean all over the place and we were blown away. The steak tiki was juicy and had a great flavor. The pita was awesome. Onion rings were great. The garlic sauce is to die for. The decor was rockin too. The owner was very friendly, very knowledgeable, and really took time to explain the menu and make you feel welcomed. This was the easiest 5 stars I have given in a long time. The food was outstanding. I got the Beef Eddy (shawarma/gyro type dish) and fries with a side of Babylonian Sauce. I moved to Jacksonville about 2 months ago and this might just be the best food I have had since I have been here. The inside has a diner vibe and the staff and owner were super friendly, constantly checking in on us and explaining some of their "go-to" orders. As were leaving and getting into our car, the owner came out of the restaurant to wave goodbye to us. If you are in JAX and eat food, Fast Eddy's is a must try. read more

Wonderful story too their parents are from Iraq and moved to Kentucky to make a better life for their family.The brothers moved here in 2005 I believe! We had heard such great things about Fast Eddys and decided to try it. Wow. It definitely lived up to the hype. We were greeted by both owners, told the restaurant's history and they took the time to go over the entire menu with us. They are clearly very passionate about their restaurant and we loved hearing family stories about how their mom cooked for them growing up. Everyone was so friendly and helpful and the music posters on the wall were a fun bonus. The food was outstanding. We ordered the egg rolls, kebabs, and the tacos (daily special). Ok - so this place is owned by a couple of bro's from my home state of Kentucky who were raised on Iraqi food by their mother - if f I have the story right. The menu is pretty eclectic and the dishes are nice sized and very tasty. However, while the food is great - what makes this place special is that they not only greet you - they remember you. This place is like the "Cheer's" of middle eastern food, complete with a great bar - serving some local ancient city on draft - and the best music ever, that's right, 90's grunge. When I heard Chris Cornell singing and saw all the awesome posters on the wall - I knew I was home. This place is special - not only for the food, but for the people. Check it out. First time at Fast Eddy's. I'm from St. Louis Mo and was in Jax visiting my daughter and her family. My son in law, grandson, and I visited Fast Eddy's for carry-out. Customer service was top notch!! I don't say this lightly, but when I say it felt like family, it felt like family!! On top of the outstanding customer service, the food was on point. We had the steak and chicken fillies, booreg beef, hummus and pita, and my grandson smashed the kids Mac n Cheese and fries. When I'm in Jax again, best believe I will visit Fast Eddy's again. I believe the gentleman who helped me may have been one of the owners. He purposely asked my son in law our names and I would venture to say that's the way he treat all of his customers. My second time eating here, took a year to get back, and am wondering why it took so long. I ordered the Roast Chicken Stew which comes with your choice of rice. I went with the Arabic style rice because the photo of it looked amazing. I appreciate the photos, helps out with the decision making, which is difficult here. Everything smells so good. The chicken in the stew was so tender and flavorful. The potatoes were just as good, not too much of them, and the rice. The rice could be a meal of its own. I love falafel and have been wanting some for ages. I stopped in to see what they have on my way back to work after stopping in at the Winn-Dixie. I was happy to see they did indeed have falafel on the menu. I ordered the wrap with fries. They had me hooked with the fries! So flavorful and crispy. Problem was we ordered and paid for the large sizes but received the smaller portion sizes. I called them and they were totally classy and made a note to take care of this on our next take out order!
