Called for a locksmith to unlock my door last night and I was quoted $110 and that they would get here in 15 minutes. I waited 40 minutes and still no one came. I called the business and they said they would reach out to the technician. 10 minutes later, the technician called and said they would be there in 15 minutes. 15 minutes passed and he said he was 7 minutes away, but he ended up showing up around 30 minutes later. We waited over 1.5 hours for them to check the lock and quote us $350 instead. We told them we were quoted $110 on the phone and he said that was a mistake and since my lock was different, it would cost more. To lie to your customers about the time and then go back on the price is ridiculous. I originally chose this service since they were less than 2 miles from my home. Would not recommend. read more

Difficult to do business with. Called at 2.09pm told will arrive in 15 mins (wow that's fast...). 35 mins later still no show. After 2 calls to chase now no one picks up phone now. Van arrives 2.55pm. I had to leave before that. read more

This business is extremely deceptive, and I would warn anyone never to use them. I called several locksmiths for quotes for a second key when I found out my partner had left town with our only car key. I decided to use Fast Lockout when they quoted me $150-$220 to make me a key for my 2019 Nissan Kicks, which was a great deal compared to other area locksmiths. The tech was nice, but when he gave me the bill, it was for $360. When I told him what I was quoted, he said it costs more for Nissans made after 2014. I told him that I told the guy on the phone that my car was a 2019, so he took $25 off the bill. The key he gave me did not lock or unlock the car remotely (only when standing right next to the car), nor did it unlock the trunk. When he left, I discovered that the car computer was now malfunctioning, showing a bunch of errors. I asked them to fix this, and they came out the next day. The key now locks remotely but doesn't unlock remotely, and it still doesn't open the trunk because, according to the tech, Nissans are just really hard. He also said he couldn't fix the computer and I had to take it to the dealer. My partner returned the next day to find that their car key no longer worked for the car. I called Fast Lockout up and explained the situation, and they said that's just how Nissans are, if you program a new key it forgets all other keys. At this point I was getting frustrated because I had explained very clearly in the beginning that my original key (that has all the functions, unlike this janky new key!) was only gone temporarily and I just wanted a second one until my partner returned so we could have two working keys at the end of the day. This guy tells me he will come back out to reprogram the old key for another $220 but would give me a $20 discount as a favor. At this point, I don't trust these folks to competently create one key, let alone a second key, and without further messing up the computer. I asked that I just get my money back so we can both forget each other, but instead, he became very unpleasant and accused me of "losing" my old key and now that I found it, wanted a refund so I could have a free, second key. If i get a refund, I would gladly give them the key back. Now I have to go to the dealership and pay even more money to get the computer in my car fixed and the old key fixed, too. These guys lie, hide information, overcharge, are not competent, and refuse to make things right. Fast lockout forgot about our 3pm appointment, but I figured I'd give them a shot anyway. I called them to remind them of the appointment and they had someone over within 20 minutes. When the locksmith arrived, he showed me their quote-sheet and said it would be $300-$400 to unlock my $50.00 interior bedroom door. I didn't get a quote until the locksmith had already arrived to do the work. Before he started the work I thought the price seemed a little high. I called another locksmith and they quoted me $70 guaranteed over the phone. I texted them pictures of the door knob and they still said $70. They came over within 10 minutes and were finished immediately. They charged me $70 as promised. Always get more than one quote. read more

Tldr don't call these guys go to another locksmith. My 18 month old son locked himself in a bathroom and we couldn't get him out. To their credit Fast Lockout showed up about 30 min after I called and they were friendly. However, they charged me $250 to simply drill through our lock. Then another $125 to put in a new handle bc they assured me my old doorknob couldn't stay. I def should have asked over the phone what opening the locked door would've costed, but my guess is he would have said "it depends on the lock" and I still wouldn't have known till the locksmith arrived. After a bit of research after the fact, those prices are insanely high, but I didn't have much of a choice in the moment unless I wanted to call another locksmith and wait while my toddler was locked in there. I just wanted someone asap to get my son out of the bathroom so didn't shop around. Still, I got gouged when they sprung the prices on me. To drill open the lock (took 5 seconds) and put in a new, lowest end doorknob, ended up costing $393. Opening the lock should've cost around $70. The kicker was that they didn't take credit card, which is how I wanted to pay, only Venmo cashapp or Zelle. If I was to do this all again and had the luxury of time, I would call someone else. From reading other reviews it seemed like what I thought happened is what happened -- we got ripped off by a shady company. Seems to be standard practice for them. Stay away. read more

I didn't have a great experience with Fast Lockout. It was miscommunication and they seemed a bit disorganized. I chose them because of the high recommendations from Yelp and their location in Echo Park, but I wouldn't personally recommend. The business needs to work on customer service and good communication from the get go. I ended up waiting for a long time in the cold and the dark. Eventually I canceled and got another locksmith to come and help. I hate giving negative reviews that's why it's a 3 and not a 1 but I think folks should consider all the reviews and know that just because they are right around the corner in Echo Park doesn't mean that they will be fast. read more

I unfortunately locked my keys in my apartment and my building did not have anyone to let me in. I called this locksmith and asked for a quote to see how much it would be to open the door so I could get to the keys. They told me they could not provide an estimate until they arrived on site. The locksmith was at my apartment within 10 minuets. The locksmith told me that the price could be anywhere from $95 to $400 and that he would have to take a look at the lock. It ended up costing $350 which they ask you to pay through Zelle. They really helped me out when I was in a bind very quickly but it was just so expensive. If you foolishly end up like me know this is a great place to quickly get you in just be ready to pay a lot for the service. read more

I would never use this company again and plan to report it to the Better Business Bureau. We used this company to get a second key for our car made. They broke our original key, gave us a malfunctioning second key, and messed up our car's mechanical system. They refused to fix their mistake and tried to get more money out of us. They also charged us over $100 more than they originally quoted us. Go elsewhere or use them at your own peril. read more
