Do not go here! RACIST owners! My boyfriend (hispanic) and I pulled into the parking lot, and were stared down by the owner and his wife (I assume). She gets whispered something by him and comes over to our car to talk. She tells us that she will get us towed if we do not leave, and we tell her that we're going to a business at the plaza, directly in front our parking spot. They continue to stare him down for 10 Minutes while I go inside, and actually call someone while looking over at our car (the towing company I assume). Why can we not park in the parking lot for the business we're using? Other cars were parked as well, and there was no signs or anything! Genuinely a disturbing act of racism! This never happens to me so I was a total novice. I was locked out of my apartment and my building manager was MIA. Cannot thank you enough! I rushed for a hair appointment about half a mile away and locked my keys into my rental car, in a basement garage with a gate. I realized this 30 minutes into my appointment and you can only imagine how stressed I was for all 7 hours. (Yes, I can't believe it was that long too.) The whole appointment I'm thinking of the dangers of being a young female from out of state, stuck in the city at night, mixed with estimates of the fees my rental car would charge me for "their" inconvenience to help me. I didn't buy their insurance either, a rental car company's dream and wanted to see what was close by before calling them. It was 7pm when I called and I was in my car by 7:23. I even offered to tip and he declined my offer. I told him that I would write a review instead then. I doubt my rental car's "roadside assistance" could've matched his timing or price. First of all, i went to 3 different locksmiths around my area to make a copy of somewhat complicated key, made several trips back and fourth since it wasn't working. I was about to give up when i was driving down Vermont street and saw Gabo Locksmith. What the heck i'll give it a last try. When i was there, this lady helped me out. She has a keen eye because she saw the previous keys that have failed and said that they cut the groove too deep. Then she got to work, she was bending some thin metal to support the keys to cut with pryers, did some several adjustments, even used some hand held file to scrape more groove. While others just did one pass making the groove, she did it 2-3 more times adjusting it. I went home, with my fingers crossed, tried the key and it worked without and hesitation! I will definitely go straight to Gabo Locksmith next time, i won't waste my time at other locksmith. Totally recommend this place. ------------------------------------------------------------------- Second review: I actually went back the next day to get second set of keys made. I called Gabo Locksmith at 11:30 PM to urgently get all 7 locks to my house changed because my house keys were stolen. They responded and was at my residence only 15 minutes after my call. I was expecting an exorbitant fee due to the fact that it was so late, they drove all the way to Leimert Park and they changed all 7 locks in the middle of the night but their fee was extremely reasonable and I was very grateful. They did an excellent job in changing all the locks especially the gate lock which was not a standard lock and were friendly and very understanding and empathetic to the situation.
