Avergae products at best! Beautiful displays, great customer oriented staff, very clean and nice displays. I decided to go ahead and give their product a try. I purchased a wide array of selected chocolate with nuts and one of the their top selling mixed nuts. The prices are outrageously high. For ~$45/lbs chocolate and ~$15/lbs mixed nuts. The taste are so so average and really nothing special for me. I buy Swiss made chocolate in Switzerland that end up being cheaper than this place and the their taste makes their high price worth the unique experience. I don't think I will try it again.

My default is usually the 9-piece box. If I really like you, you get the 9-piece box (lollll). Walking up to the display case can be dangerous; it's so hard for me to choose flavors because I really just want to try them all. There are rows of beautiful handmade chocolates in every color imaginable, and the flavors are so much fun: Vietnamese coffee, cookie butter (Biscoff), passionfruit, strawberry matcha, lavender, macadamia praline, local honey, salted caramel, and so many more. They also make seasonal treats. Around Easter, there are gorgeous big chocolate eggs that you crack open to reveal candy inside (I was SO close to buying one for myself ), along with adorable little chocolate bunnies. The chocolates are almost too pretty to eat. (I said "almost", mind you.) You admire them for a little while, and then somehow they mysteriously disappear into your mouth. NOMZ! My personal favorites are the Vietnamese coffee (of course) and the cookie butter, while some of my friends swear by the passionfruit and the fruitier flavors. I don't think I've had a bad one yet. But here's one thing that has always stuck with me, it's something that happened when I was in the shop one afternoon. A family was sampling quite a few chocolates, and I remember feeling a little bad for the owner because they were so patient and generous with everyone. I ended up making sure I bought a box to bring to friends that day, not because anyone pressured me or anything, but...don't you just wanna support a small business run by genuinely kind people? I haven't found a chocolate-loving friend who wasn't thrilled to receive a box from Tick Tock. (One of my friends are the 9-piece box in a weekend. I can't blame them, but...) Belmont is lucky to have Tick Tock Chocolates, and I hope they're around for a very long time.

At $4.50 per piece, it's way over priced. Quality was good…read morebut I don't feel like it was worth it

I just visited Spirited Gourmet today to learn more about a program they participate in called "Too…read moreGood to Go." I was interested in this program as it is geared toward two noble goals: reducing food waste; and addressing food insecurity. I downloaded the app and purchased a "surprise package" online that had a retail value of $13.00 and cost me $4.27. The gentleman behind the food counter knew immediately what I meant when I mentioned the program and gave me my surprise bag containing two baguettes from Iggy's as well as a one pound of fresh, gluten free gnocchi (I had indicated that I was gluten free in the app). All items were within their freshness dates and the gnocchi were excellent. The employee who assisted me was both extremely courteous and knowledgeable about the program. I really want to commend both the Spirited Gourmet for participating in Too Good to Go as well as the program itself. I live in Belmont and because of this experience will certainly frequent this store-I hope you will as well! Thank you, Spirited Gourmet!

Besides wine, they also have other alcohol (sake, beer), a ton of cheeses, crackers, everything to assemble your own charcuterie board, including yuzu olive oil! I'll have to come back and try their deli counter, their grilled cheese sandwiches looked amazing.

I got inspired by watching youtube to make a jambon buerre sandwich - supposedly a popular quick sandwich for Parisians. The sandwich is half a baguette with butter and French bistro ham. I tried searching all over for the French bistro ham with no luck. The only options were online sources with expensive shipping and/or expensive minimum order sizes. Somehow I stumbled upon MA-France nearby in Arlington and they sell jambon-buerre sandwiches. It's a small shop that sells sandwiches, pastries, and a small offering of French food products. Lots of pastries and baked goods like quiche, tarts, cookies, croissants, etc. The cheese offerings were very limited and basic. I can imagine that the cheeses that they sell are the same types and brands that they use for making sandwiches. For example, they sell President brand Brie - that you can also buy at Costco and market basket. Disappointing, but understandable because they can't afford to buy more variety and more expensive offerings without a big enough client base to buy those cheeses before they go bad. Getting back to the sandwich - it was half a baguette with some thick slices of butter and two pieces of French bistro ham. The bread was kind of dense and the crust was more chewy than crispy. I was disappointed that they didn't bother to spread the butter, but if they're not selling enough sandwiches then they're probably keeping the butter in the refrigerator - making it too difficult to spread. When I got home I fixed up the sandwich to my liking. Overall, the sandwich was okay, but not good enough to make me want to go back. At least I was able to solve my hunger for the jambon buerre sandwich.

Now it's quite underwhelming. The apricot croissant is now some smaller glorified danish that has no richness or personality. The plain croissant is quite "bready" now, whereas it used to be light and buttery. I have a sneaking suspicion that they have a different croissant supplier now. What saved this spot from a lower grade is that the pain au raisin and chausson aux pommes are passable. Also a save is that they still offer various French products, from soaps to cheeses to canned goods. I have to find a new French bakery in the area.
