I went to this location for a sinus infection in March. The PA was with me less than five minutes and billed my insurance company almost $800. I paid almost $150 out of pocket on the day of the visit and now they are billing me directly for almost $180 more. I have called numerous times to have this billing error resolved. I have visited this location for quick PPD testing for my mother. They get you in and out in no time. This is appreciated when taking a senior for medical appointments. I went here for a pre-employment drug screen (urine test) required by a company who made me a job offer. I chose this of several location options since it was closest to my home and went in the evening of 1/22/26. There was nobody in the office except 3-5 staff members at the time--mostly in the back room. Within several minutes they processed me to do the test. All seemed pretty normal until I learned a few days later they had lost my urine sample, so I had to repeat the effort. I chose another location the next time, and would not go back to this place again. The protocol for supervising the test and getting signoffs that the sample was being processed and packaged for later shipment to a lab for testing is very detailed. I don't understand how you could screw that up. I suspect they sold off my sample to somebody else. But doesn't matter really. All that matters is due to their incompetence I had to repeat the effort --costing me time and effort and adding in the question as to whether my company might have to adjust my start date for work. read more

We had to use this location today because of staffing at our normal FastMed and I'm glad it worked out that way. the intake nurse was really good and thorough and asked alot of questions. The service is incredibly slow . I sat and was in an examination room for nearly 2 hours. It doesn't take that long to chest X-ray, flu test etc. mostly everyone was sitting around. I won't be back. I previously had good experiences here but no more. read more

I took my mother to FastMed due to a suspected UTI. We were seen immediately. Mom has dementia and she was seen by Boris. He was very good with her and very thorough. I will definitely go back in the future for non- emergency issues and when medical care is needed after regular hours. read more

I traveled from Miami to Raleigh with a weird/pain feeling in my ear. I decided to ignore it until at one point I couldn't anymore. I found this place online and decided to do an online registration (I'm the kind of a person that likes to do everything online instead of calling). My appointment was at 8:30am, so I got there like at 8:10am. Unfortunately, they were understaffed and opening at 9am. I was gonna wait outside, but Keshia, one of the nurses, help me and quickly checked me in. The doctor was really nice and help me with my ear pain (I didn't get her name). I was out of there at 9am. I recommend to do the online registration and maybe calling beforehand to verify the time. Also try to get there early if possible. read more

Made an appointment, filled out all paperwork online and sat waiting for an hour past appointment time, I was quite ill and I could hear them joking and laughing about people and their ailments. Continued to feel worse and ended up leaving without seeing a Dr. they really didn't care (and only one Dr. but yet they schedule appts for every 15 min.) There also was a patient in the waiting area without a mask and they saw that person. I hate masks as much as the next guy - but when sick and in urgent care - they really should require it. read more

The receptionist was nice. The wait wasn't bad for a Saturday morning at 830AM. However, the way they do their billing is SERIOUSLY flawed. They won't see you unless you put your credit/debit card on file for them to charge if your insurance doesn't cover everything. Like what?!? I've never heard of that ever! Obviously I'm at the urgent care for a reason, and instead of putting the patient first they send them away over money. In an effort to not have my card on file for anyone to charge/hack, I wrote a check instead. The check needed to be $200 and was DEFINITELY going to be cashed whether or not my insurance covered everything. If the insurance did cover everything, they would send me a check in the mail with the $200 refund. What sense does that make?? Duke urgent care is the place to go if you need medical attention!! Very rude, poor customer service from the receptionist. I came here for a simple pre employment drug screen. This requires very minimal involvement from the staff and I did not have a good experience here. 1/5 for the front desk, 4/5 for the back office. I was instructed to fill out paperwork and verify my personal information by the rude front desk receptionist. Then I was told that if I cannot provide a urine sample in the next 30 minutes, then she would fail me.. how stupid is that?! She proceeded to speak to me in a condescending tone.. Luckily, the back office medical assistant was very nice and professional. She told me exactly what to do, while being efficient and friendly. I only came here because an employer sent me here, due to location convenience, and I will probably never ever come here again. read more

I have never left a bad review for any business. HOWEVER, My family and I signed up for a COVID test after being told they would have a rapid test available for all us. This was less than 24 hours before our appointment, so we signed up. We showed up and they told us they do not have the test and tried selling us on a different test that would take 3-5 days that is offered for free throughout Raleigh/Durham. They didn't notify us at all and they wasted both our time and our chance of going to a different urgent care to get a test for the day. My family is now left in limbo unsure of our status after possibly being exposed to the virus. Disappointing that they chose trying to make a sale over doing the right thing. read more

Nothing "FAST" about it. I checked in online and filled out all of the required paperwork before going to the location. I was told that that would help me be seen quickly. I got there 5 minutes before my appointed check-in time. After waiting for almost an hour, I approached the front desk a second time to make sure I had done the online check-in correctly. She took more info on my symptoms and took me to a patient room. There I waited for another hour before being seen by a PA. PA was kind and answered all of my questions. Not sure what the point of online check-in is if you still have to wait 2 hours to be seen by a doctor. read more

Nothing fast about it, and they make you pay $35 membership fee if you're self pay. On the back of the form, if you have insurance - they will hold your credit card info in their system and charge it for whatever the insurance doesn't pay without notifying you of the amount first. My husband probably has the flu. Total cost up front (before being seen and waiting well over an hour) is $150. We still haven't been seen, but they took our money so we don't have a choice but to wait. Mind you there's only 3 people waiting to be seen. Sigh. Live and learn. read more

I have been to UrgentCare twice in six weeks for two different problems. The staff was efficient and helpful. I waited only 10 minutes. Diana Walker, PA was thorough and prescribed the appropriate medication. Great bedside manner. The LPN's are friendly and are also extremely competent. So yesterday was my first time coming to this facility. The lady at the front desk was pleasant and the nurse was so nice so I was expecting a great visit. I went first thing in the morning to avoid a long wait or rushed service. Unfortunately, I was not pleased at all with my experience with the doctor. As soon as she began her appointment with me, I could already tell that she seemed completely uninterested. I described to her my medical concern (which is a condition I have encountered a number of times) and she was so nonchalant it was ridiculous. I was told by the nurse that I would have a full exam, but when the doctor came in, she's like well... we don't have the equipment for a full exam, we just ran out of supplies. How do you not have the equipment needed? Then as I am asking for her professional opinion on how to stop this condition from occurring again, she says ummm I don't know. Really?! I expected more than an 'I don't know.' She rushed through our appointment, I could hardly even understand what she was saying because she was talking so fast. Not to mention, she barely gave me a chance to speak. Can you slow it down a little & show a little compassion? After a rushed appointment, she just says "well you've had these symptoms before so I guess I'll just prescribe you whatever you've been given before." While writing my prescription, she made the comment "Wow I hardly ever write this prescription." Which I found offensive, why was that necessary to say? I told her exactly what pharmacy to send my prescription to and she sends it to the completely wrong Walgreens across town. Not impressed at all. I actually found it upsetting at her lack of concern. This urgent care seems to rarely have two providers on during peak hours of operation. I made an appt for 2:30pm, arrived at 2:15pm and wasn't seen until about 3:15. So what is the benefit of making an appointment? There was only one provider on and she was behind in seeing Pts. They never take the full copay that is on my insurance card. I always get billed later for the remaining amount. There are no nurses just MA's. read more

Very shocked by all of the bad reviews. It has been about a year since my last visit to FastMed (knock wood) but I have always experienced exceptional care and service. Their location is very central to my work and recreational activities. In a 14 month span I believe I visited this location a half dozen times and always had exceptional service. When work injuries, soccer practice mishaps or flu shots were needed Fast Med is very convenient. The online checkin is great, especially if the patient has been to the location in the past. I can't remember ever waiting more then 20 minuets which is very reasonable given the alternative. I'm always the designated ride to seek medical attention and there are only two Urgent Care facilities I feel comfortable with, FastMed is definitely one of them! read more

I will not be back! I came here on 1/4. The woman at the front desk was more focused on her phone than helping me. Being a new urgent care I wanted to make sure FastMed was covered by my insurance. I asked the woman to check and she told me over and over I would be fine. I had to request a few times for her to check. The doctor I saw was great. No complaints there. Everything was very clean and organized. My rating for the one star is because it took over a week to receive the results from my lab work. It was clear when I was there something was wrong. I called the next day and asked if my lab results were back and I was informed it takes 3-5 days to get them back. This is completely unacceptable. RX Urgent Care and Duke have always been next day for me. There is no reason with today's technology for it to take this long. Today I received a phone call (1/12) and it turns out I do have an infection so over a week later I am finally being prescribed the medication I need. Absolutely ridiculous. Until they fix their service level agreements with their lab provider, I will not be back. read more

I went here because I had symptoms of strep and/or the flu. I don't have health insurance, and so the front desk associate was really helpful in signing me up for a discount program. This was awesome and my visit ended up only costing me $135 and I was only there for about an hour. They did a strep, mono and a flu test on me. I randomly found a charge on my card TWICE since visiting this place. They refuse to see you unless you put your card on file with them. BE WARE! There were also no doctors present when I was seen. A nurse saw me instead. They ran a pregnancy test, even though I told them I didn't need one. The nurse *guessed* that I had a viral infection, but couldn't confirm, because they didn't stock the test needed to be sure. So basically, I left without any answers and they tried to charge my card twice since then, even though I haven't been back. Good luck charging it again. I put a BLOCK ON IT for them. read more

There are few times that I have had worse customer service than this location provided. I came in for a simple drug test for a workers comp claim. It was a task just to see if they did drug testing.. After I found our they did, it was required that I get the fax number to send the drug test permissive forms to. The desk attendant was very rude and rather unhelpful when it came down to getting any information. After sorting that out, I filled out the required paperwork, easy enough, right? The desk attendant took almost an hour to input it into the system and I was awaiting 3 hours just to be seen simply to pee in a cup. I watched several people that came in after me get called in due to slow work from the attendant and then some. This was roughly 3 hours for no more than maybe a total of 6 people. If you've got something to do or somewhere better to be, this is not the urgent care facility for you. This urgent care facility treated all the issues presented as anything but urgent and with an unwelcoming frown of disapproval. With all that said it gets a 1/5. I'll be sticking to my garner urgent care centers from now on . read more

I really wish the star system was broken up in to two parts. The front office would have a NEGATIVE 59 and the Medical Assistants/Doctors a 5. The front office staff is so rude and cynical.. Although, reading through others' reviews, I guess it all depends on who is working and the day/time that you arrive. The Front Office ladies bark orders at you like they're doing you the favor of seeing you today. They have no empathy what-so-ever. The wait time is generally long, but I haven't been to too many Urgent Care's that didn't have an extensive wait. You can also schedule appointments at this location, so that would help with the wait time. I've frequented this location multiple times and have always been very pleased with the medical assistants and physicians. They do take as much time as possible with each patient, even though it is an Urgent Care. read more

I had read horror stories online about long wait times and impatient service, but the time between when I walked in and when I left was less than 30 minutes. Be aware that they will bill insurance. Any amount NOT covered by insurance they will reach into whatever account you paid your copay with and take the remaining balance instead of billing you. Where to begin? First issue is I randomly found a charge in my bank account a month later, rather than them sending me a bill. I used a card to pay my (ridiculous) copay, and they just charged that. Really glad I had been paid the same day!! BIGGEST issue is that these jokers cost me an arm and a leg after the fact. I went in because I had my first gout flare-up in 2 years, only 2nd flare-up ever. They told me they couldn't really help because I needed blood work first from my primary care physician. That sentence still cost me $175. I mean, I know that's nothing new, but just because it's the norm doesn't make it right. HOWEVER, they DID prescribe me a high dose of naproxen instead. WHAT THEY FAILED TO TELL ME WAS THAT THIS WASN'T FOR THE PAIN, AS I JUST ASSUMED, IT WAS FOR THE INFLAMATION!!! In other words, what they prescribed me should have worked to fix my flare-up, but they led me to believe that it was just to mask the pain, and that I'd still need to go to my primary care physician for the blood work to get the ACTUAL fix. Well, I go to my primary care, and he takes 2 minutes out of his rich, privileged day to tell me what FastMed should have, and that what I was given would do the trick fine, AND THEN PROCEEDS TO CHARGE ME ANOTHER $229. Go to hell, FastMed. You're playing the American Healthcare System game exactly like everyone else, but it doesn't mean that you don't make the term "caregiver" a misnomer. You clearly don't give any care at all to what drives a person to having to eat Ramen for the next 6 months. read more

I've been here several times and no matter how many people are here it always takes hours to be seen. And people who checked in after me were seen first, most likely due to poor customer service. I once went in for a bad cough and they refused to prescribe a cough suppressant because they said "coughing is good and if you're coughing it's for a reason". It seems they are VERY under staffed to save money because they'd rather have their patients wait longer when it's busy than loose money with extra staff when it's slow. My mother also went here and informed the Dr. of all of her medications but they still prescribed her something that had very serious interactions so she couldn't take it. read more

Two PAs here did not conduct a proper examination, which resulted in a major misdiagnosis. They didn't ask to actually look at the area of concern. Just asked questions and took x-rays. Copay is far too high for such poor service and customer care. read more
