Be prepared to wait here. The drive thru was wrapped around the building and when you place your order you are still required to wait in the parking lot. As for the food, I ordered some fried liver with fried okra which I found to be pretty tasty. Hopefully next time the wait won't be so long. read more

They really have the best rice dressing in town, and some outstanding sweet tea. The original owner sold the place and its gone completely down hill. The chicken use to be golden brown and so full of flavor. It was big pieces too. Now it's small and mostly over cooked chicken. Two piece white and two piece dark, small onion rings, two teas totalled under $14. The food was delicious. I had the dark meat pieces and they were so juicy. They have good food here! Chicken is huge, prices are low and service is good! I always get the red beans plate which comes with 2 pieces of chicken and a side of coleslaw and a roll for under $7 you really can't beat it! I recently tried the chicken tenders, I'm not a fan of them because they're way too big. And the breading didn't really stick well. But maybe I'm picky? People will tell you that this is Lafayette's best fried chicken. While there is nothing wrong with it, it is a bit on the underseasoned side, and perhaps a bit beige for my tastes. So far, Dwyer's and Champagne's have the best in town, but both of those places do it only on certain days. My family and I decided to try this place, we ordered 2 of the 3 piece dark specials that included a small fry and drink and 1- 3 piece with a red bean and rice. When our number was called, we checked our order and there was only 1 special along with the 3 piece with red beans. When we told the lady behind the counter that we were missing an order, she ARGUED with us saying that we only had 2 orders, she called the girl that had taken our order but she was to busy stooping down in front of us checking her cell phone, so my husband pulled out the receipt to which she was still trying to ARGUE, until she took the time to read and see that we really were missing one of the specials.
