First - we had dinner at the Hilliard location on Cemetery Road. I was pleased to have had supper at the maize Road location several years ago with my daughter Gwen West! Now that she's no longer with us I'm finding it helps to try and continue her Yelp adventures to discover places I know she either had visited and loved or seek out places that I feel she would have wanted me to visit with her. I was so happy to find that the Hilliard location had a larger dining area and was bright and airy! I called my older daughter and with my husband we met there Wednesday night to eat together. My husband and daughter had not had the treat of a great birria taco so I was excited for them to give this a try. The menu has lots of options for birria and we ended up with 2 of us getting the smaller quesadilla and my hubbie getting the 3 taco birria! The order was delivered quickly and I was not disappointed-my memory' of my first taco at the Maize Road location with Gwen was like living it again! The fillings and the consume was perfect! Everyone loved the food and the service was great! What a great spot! Don't let the outside fool you....this is the spot for birria! We started with margs and chips/ salsa. All were clearly homemade and so good. The chips were warm and salty, and the salsa had lots of fresh onion and cilantro with just the right heat. I had the birria enchiladas, and my friend had the birria burrito. Located next to a beer shop, this store front restaurant doesn't look like much, but the food was outstanding. The service was also excellent. Our waitress was pleasant and courteous, checking on our table often, but not hovering. Two of our party had burritos. They were huge! We each ended up taking more than half home for a second meal. The third person had street tacos, and they came loaded with chorizo. And we were pleasantly surprised to discover they served alcohol. My spicy margarita was delicious. Also, it may seem a strange thing to comment on, but the bathrooms were very clean. I worked in enough restaurants to know this as a good sign the kitchen is equally clean. Martha's opened earlier this summer after being shut for almost a year. Its local family owned and operated. The server was super sweet and attentive. The place is quaint and frill free. They are known for their Birria meat. You can get it in Beef or Chicken. I tried the Birria tacos with chicken and it was lip smacking good. Best I have had in Columbus. They make them fresh and sell out quite often.they run out very quickly so definitely worth going in early. The Nachos were great as well. A friend and I had lunch here at this hidden gem in North Linden. I had the beef Birria tacos x3 and they were heavenly. Probably the best Birria I've had recently in the city. The tortillas were crispy and the beef was tender and flavorful. Dipped in the Birria broth made it even more heavenly. This spot is convenient for dine in and take out. The salsa has a richly developed flavor that I thought was spicy at first bite but lost its kick by the second bite. The chips were not special. Also available was queso and guacamole. Hubs ordered the Chicken Chimichanga with double beans. The shredded chick was moist and tender with loads of flavor. The HUGE Chimichunga was all chicken. It was topped with ico, sour cream and sat on a tiny bed of lettuce. Hubs gave this meal a 10/10 The pinto beans were whole and not refried. Cooked with chilcostle peppers and onions. The beans had a deep smokey flavor and were delicious. The rice was authentic; cooked in chicken stock and tomato sauce. Delicious! I ordered Pollo Loco. A chicken breast topped with chorizo, sauteed mushrooms and queso. The chorizo gave the dish an enjoyable kick. Served with a side of rice and beans. Also served with a side of corn tortillas. I would rate it an 8/10 because of the spice level and the price. Both meals were large. Neither of us could finish our meals. My favorite was the jalapeno cilantro sauce served table side accompanied by a rojo sauce. I expected heat from the rojo but it was the Verde sauce that gave my rice heat. All pop is sold in bottles. I heard so many things about this place on the book face. So once they opened, I had to come check it out ! They opened about a month ago. They are still working out small kinks such as staffing and so forth, so if you go during peak hours please be patient This newly renovated and newly opened restaurant is located on the north side off maize road...right next to a corner store. I have attached photos of menu and drinks They are still in process of obtaining their liquor license so again, be patient ! The chips and queso were great. Plenty of queso for just me, as I took a bunch home so an order of chips and queso will be sufficient for a 2 person order. I ordered 1 birria taco ($5) along with 3 street tacos however the order did not come out correctly. So instead it was delivered as 1 birria taco and 2 street carnitas tacos ($4 each) . Carnitas were perfectly cooked and the salsa Verde was on point! The birria taco was excellent too! Be prepared with extra napkins for these ones...they are extra juicy and yummy! This has now become my number one #1 sit down taco spot in Columbus!! I am excited for a second visit very soon to try more menu items ! The consume.stole the show, the broth was so rich and deep with beef flavor. I could have drank a cup of it by itself. Martha's homemade sauces should be bottled and sold by themselves. The green was my favorite, it was the less spicy of the two. If you're looking for a hole in the wall Mexican reataurant, this is the place! So much so, that last time I was here signs for Bella's pizza were all over the place. However, don't let that deter you from the food here! I came upon this as a recommendation from some friends who moved here from San Diego. This is a hidden gem type of restaurant. It is a very small place, so seating can be tough as I read on other reviews and that's why we did an order to go. I wish we could dine in because tacos and nachos are best when eaten right away, but did not want a long wait, especially on a Friday evening. The order was ready to pickup on arrival. Martha's Kitchen has been on my mind for several weeks. I placed an order this past Friday and since everything sounded good I ordered quite a bit of food! HIGHLY recommend calling in your order well ahead of time; my order took about 40 minutes to be ready. There were also several people waiting in the cars. Could have been just because it was Friday evening though. I got the mulitas and pastor tacos. I was also talked into buying an Apple soda at pickup by the young lady working the counter. The food was soooooooo good. And it was a ton of food for just $17. The mulitas are decent size and the tacos are loaded with ingredients so just one is fairly filling. The consume comes with the mulitas and it's a decent size as well. Found out a birria spot was within walking distance from my place so of course I had to check it out. I was not disappointed. We ordered online and picked it up inside about 30 mins later. The restaurants isn't anything impressive, it's actually an old pizza shop so there's a counter and a few tables. It actually still has all the signage of Bella's Pizza but it should be changing. Martha's offers a variety of items, we ordered birria tacos, nachos, burrito, chips and chorizo queso. We enjoyed all of our food and even had some leftovers. I will say that some of the menu items seemed to be on the pricier side but with the portions, I'd say it was fair. I'll definitely be back to try more menu items. A friend & I had an early dinner at Martha's Saturday evening. I had the birria tacos with consumé, which were excellent, extremely well seasoned with very tender beef and very flavorful consumé. I was hungry but only could eat two so the third one & most of the consumé came home with me. My friend ordered the taco salad with beef and instead of ground beef, it had grilled steak strips.
