"Barbecue may not be the road to world peace, but it's a start." -- Anthony Bourdain Fat Daddy's BBQ would stop all wars, bring everyone together, if it could be served worldwide instead of just at the Kensington Farmers Market. Lovely people, good service, best ribs and rib tips ever. Get yourself some and make the world a better place :-) Highly recommended!

I've had food catered and i've also been to the Farmers Market a few times. The slogan is true, "NO SAUCE NEEDED". I usually like BBQ sauce, however I opted out just to taste the barbecue to see if it the sauce wasn't needed.... Listen, I had the chicken, links and potato salad and it was delicious. I ate it in my car because I couldn't wait to get home. The service was great, the young lady and young man that took and prepared my order was pleasant and provided service with a smile (that is huge for me). I would recommend and definitely return. I HAVE A NEW SPOT, thank you Fat Daddy for the great BBQ.

This is the best BBQ I've had in a long time. I went to the Kensington Farmers market and discovered Fat Daddy's and I will be back every weekend for those ribs! On the sign it says no sauce needed and they couldn't be more right. They were sweet and Smokey with a nice thick bark. When I opened the tin foil I was shocked how big the portion was. 10/10!

Fatt Daddy's is one of two Gems I've found in the town of Kensington! If you're ready for the best ribs in the East Bay, this is it. In fact, Fatt Daddy's are the #1 best pork ribs I've ever had. What determined this place being the best? Well..The Pit Master himself pulls the rack of ribs straight from the smoker. The ribs are juicy and fall right off the bone. It's literally text book perfect. Even reheating them after throwing them in the frig is fine. Just throw them in the oven for a few minutes and they're nearly perfect. I've evaluated a good amount of rib spots in the East Bay, check them out yourself and form your own opinion. You will not be disappointed with Fat Daddy's!

Rib tip plate (cole slaw as side) with Mac n cheese

One of the best ribs I have ever tasted. Flavor penetrates through every part of the meat. Portion size is double if not triple of what I thought it would be. Mac n cheese and coles slaw are both pretty bland, which works pretty well with the rib, but I still added salt and pepper to them. Definitely recommend if you are in the area!

    Good, BBQ.

i somehow managed to suppress the urge to order ribs today, and instead tried the chicken. Which was FANTASTIC. I can't believe how tasty.

My grandson and I had not problem polishing off a chicken and pork tamale. Dang they are really so good. Maybe a little on the pricey side compared to other tamale options out there, but more than worth it when you sink your chops into such fine food. I can't wait to go back the next time I'm in town! The setting and ambience are perfect since the stand is located in the parking lot of an automobile service station - an excellent choice for setting up shop!

Community organization booths included the Happy Day montessori school and Child Therapy Institute, among others. And there was no shortage of food and drink options to grab a snack or meal, a combination of local brick-and-mortar businesses along the street as well as food trucks and vendor tents serving anything and everything, from mediterranean bites to asian fusion to cajun cuisine, along with classic dishes like pizza, hot dogs, and loaded fries. I picked up lunch from Tante's food stand and enjoyed a delicious hot link and potato-spinach knish. The only downsides to this event were the crowds, making it hard to move around at times, and the parking situation which was difficult in the surrounding neighborhood streets.

On Friday we decided to give it a try. Honestly we both were hoping to order the Chicken Fried Rice but unfortunately they were completely sold out. So we opted for the Cajun Chicken tenders and fries as well as the Mango Habanero chicken wings and fries. It took about 25 minutes for our order to be completed. We were extremely pressed for time so we literally grabbed our food and left. In hindsight the time was extremely reasonable as that's how long it takes for your food to be prepared. In other words our food was made to order and not previously prepared. Let me just say the Mango Habanero wings were delicious! They were generously sauced with the right about of crispness. I found them to be flavorful and abundant. My order came with about 10 wings, fries and sauce. The sauces did not come with a lid, I was t too thrilled about that. As for the tenders, they were large, well seasoned with a dry rub, crispy and juicy. It's two days later and I am STILL thinking about my food which is a great sign. If you're in a rush, it will take a while for your food to be prepared and because the food is excellent know you will have to stand in quite a line. I would highly recommend if you enjoy chicken as there are several options to choose from. I most definitely will be returning!

I think the problem is that I couldn't get past the lack of a restroom in the area. They had some portables, but they are making food and we are supposed to eat it. Where are they washing their hands? This area is also pretty cold so if you go, make sure that you have a coat, scarf and hat. I'll never make that mistake again. But because of the cold, I didn't want to eat outside so our food got a cold, but it was good. My husband liked the food he got, but gluten free options are super limited. They get a third star because of the bar! Now there was only one person working there and that's fine because he could go get a snack or something and come back to pour drinks, but again. The restroom issue. Where does he wash his hands, what if he has a cold and sneezes into them, and so on. That's where my mind went. The vendors are quite nice and were helpful and weren't mean when they answered my GF questions and I appreciate that. So, this is like the little engine that could. I can see that it is a gathering spot for people and they have music and speakers which is cool. So I saw and felt a community vibe and people really seemed to like going. If I lived in the area, I may try it a bit more, but in all honestly, Oakland Museum's Off the Grid event is everything I wish this was. I'm sure that they will get there, but don't want to hang out while they figure it out.
