Believe the hype! I randomly stumbled upon this taco truck and noticed there were a few ppl waiting at a Smog station and decided I had to check it out. I looked on Yelp to see if it had reviews and was surprised to see so many 5-star reviews. I decided to give it a try and was so happy that I did. You know the tacos are going to be good when they use the small, real-corn (yellow ground corn) tortillas for their tacos. Ordered two fish tacos and two carne asada tacos. They were so good! I will definitely be coming back when in Berkeley near the San Pablo Park area.

Saw the 5 star reviews for this spot upon searching for a spot to satiate my fish taco craving and this small, unassuming truck absolutely did it for me! It wasn't the kind of fish taco I was initially looking for but it was even better with the heaping serving of grilled fish and avocados. The pastor and asada were a 10/10 too!

Placed my order 2 burritos and a coke.Got there guy at the window threw the bag at me trying to rush me off.I look in the bag and it's only one burrito. As I'm checking he throws some cooked jalapeños at me continuing to rush me off as I call him out he checks his tablet and his excuse was the order didn't come through at the same time. Horrible service and mediocre food.

Yum, street tacos are a little small but tasty! I had the carne asada, pastor, and lengua. All were good. Pastor might have been my favorite. My boyfriend had pollo, carne asada, and carnitas and he liked them all but I think he said the asada he liked the most. We were surprised to see that it was empty on a Friday night. Sadly they didn't have horchata that day. It was nice because the truck was located in a parking lot and there was a table set up. It was a cool breezy evening so the food got cold pretty quickly but I still found it really enjoyable. They kindly let us know they were closing and needed to set away the table soon, closing up half an hour earlier than the hours listed (6:30pm instead of 7pm).

This little hidden truck is quite convenient being that it's parked right on San Pablo and Ashby. Quick service, low prices and authentic. I'll be back next week!

Hands down come here for the fish tacos; topped with avocado, tomato and lettuce this was my favorite tacos that I ordered. I also ordered chorizo taco and it was pretty greasy, the texture was like baby food this was definitely not for me. Pros: -Fish Tacos were delicious! -Conveniently located in the Chevron parking. -Fast service and friendly staff. Cons: -Cash Only. -Chorizo was awful for my taste. -No chips added to your taco order. Next on the list: Asada tacos, keep posted for an update on this cheap eat. Siete 14 Quince

El Manantial has moved to south Berkeley as of early November. It's now in the parking lot of the smog check at the corner of San Pablo and Burnett, across the street from JFK university. Excellent prices, delicious food, served with a smile. I'm so happy to have a taco truck within walking distance of San Pablo park!!

    Tacos pastor, lengua, y asada.

Was driving by this place and decided to finally pay them a visit. I love tacos and these didn't disappoint. Could have used a bit more meat and less grease on the tortillas but nonetheless they were worth the $16. I gave 3 stars because these are good tacos for the value but not quite the 4-5 star experience/quality. Hand made tortillas and higher quality meats would have put them over the 4 stars. I recommend this place for a satisfying bite.

The food totally lives up to the hype. Some of the best flavor combinations I have ever had here in Berkeley (Very high praise). The dos Mole dish is a must, both mole are rich and flavorful with one chocolatey and one savory. The tacos are also to die for, you really cannot go wrong with any of them but I recommend trying the fish tacos or mole tacos if you need to choose. I have had a beer and marg here and both were great, no complaints what so ever! They are pretty fast and always sure to check in on how you are enjoying your meal. There is also quite a bit of seating so reservations aren't particularly needed on regular weekdays!

We are in search of a Baja fish taco that is satisfying since both of the places we loved either closed or stopped serving the baja style. We went to Mersea earlier for the views and to check out TI and it was uninspiring so we rambled back to the east bay and decided to try Mercado. Reviews looked good (thanks y'all, I appreciate you) and despite a few misses on the baja taco (according to some reviews) we decided to take a run at it. The man was feeling jaded after the am stop and wasn't going for the fish, I stayed neutral...no one wants their little taco loving heart broken twice in one day...ultimately, he decided to try the fish taco plate with 1 baja and one grilled. I had the poblano mole tacos w/chicken. We shared the guacamole with chips. I had cafe de olla (it is called something else here) and he had the mocktail with the ginger beer. The ordering at the counter wasn't my favorite but the spot was pretty quiet for a Friday midday and the service was still exceptional. They were attentive and responsive. I would definitely go back at the same time cuz I don't like crowds. On to the food. Dayum! Everything was good. Well seasoned, beautifully plated, and sufficient serving size. I pigged out. For real...I waddled out of that joint. Brought every drop of the leftovers home so I could have the chocolate custard (DAYUM) for dessert with the remnants of my coffee. Him: he preferred the baja style to the grilled fish. As some others have said, it can fall apart (really stuffed with goodness) but he didn't want his fixins on the side. VERDICT: he'll be back for that taco. Me: I enjoyed the mole but the chicken in chunks didn't work for me. I would have preferred it shredded. I'll try something else next time and there will be a next time. Oh, and the black beans and green rice were flavorful as well. Standing order: guacamole and chips Cafe Chocolate custard... What? No pics? Come on now. I wasn't thinking 'bout y'all when my food came. Go take your own pics.

I had high hopes for La Mission based on the amazing reviews…read more.. The location is cute with a nice shaded outdoor area. The servers are personable. My party ordered the verde enchiladas, vegetarian burrito, platanos, and flan. Enchiladas - filled with chicken and the sauce was spicy. However, it wasn't very flavorful, just hot. The rice and beans were very disappointing. Bland and the cheese on the beans was cold, stiff, and clumped. Vegetarian burrito - Delicious! No complaints. Platanos - Served over refried beans with a super unappetizing sauce splashed on top. The taste was just okay but I've had better. Flan - definitely a different texture than the average flan. Overall, it wasn't something to drive home about but it was cool. Overall, the lunch wasn't bad but it wasn't great nor was ti worth almost $80. I may come back to try the tacos, which seem to be a top seller, but I'll hold off on anything else.
