Had the opportunity to stop by Fat Jacks and tried their wing combo, We had the 18 piece combo with two Apps. We selected the Mozzarella Sticks and Fresh Hot Potato Chips. We had three different sauces, Garlic Parm, Texas Gold and the house teriyaki. All three were tasty. Being off season the place was not very busy and we were greeted by the co-owner Debbie who walked us through the menu. She allowed us to sample some of the many wing sauce options to help us decide on the flavors we preferred. The wings were done very well, crispy but not overcooked. The sauces coated each wing nicely and the flavor carried through each wing. Debbie introduced us to a new appetizer, Deep Fried Corn on the Cob, I was curious how this would be but I was very pleased. The corn is fried until the kernels just start to turn golden brown. The Corn is then rolled in melted butter and with a little salt it and smelled like fresh popcorn. The taste was a cross between popcorn and fresh corn on the cob. Great taste. The interior is unique as the dropped ceiling tiles were covered with advertising and political ads. Interesting to read and made the restaurant more memorable. Visited 5-1-13. Nice casual atmosphere with awesome service. Wings were not huge but very tasty. I chose the Sesame (recommended by waitress) and they did not disappoint. The Blue Cheese dressing was also delicious. My wife got a Cheese Steak and was very happy. She said the bread alone was awesome. I have wing addiction so had to try this place based on a friends recommendation. She said they were the best ever but I don't quite agree. We had three different sauces; garlic Parmesan which were sitting in melted butter and covered in way too much Parmesan cheese. In addition they were a bit overcooked. Also had the teriyaki jalapeno and they were decent.The only ones I can say are good are the regular hot wings. They were cooked right and the sauce was very good. I did not care for the frozen jalapenos, typical frozen with cheddar cheese or the fried mushrooms. On a negative note, I thought they were way too expensive. We ordered 24 wings and twoappetizers and two beers, one each, and the bill was $34. Considering that this was happy hour and there is another place in Surfside (The Borgata) that on this particular day (Wednesday) has $.35 wings that are just as good, I wasn't thrilled at the bill. However, that's just my taste. The place was comfortable wooden chairs and booths. It seems like a family-friendly place. It also seems clean and Debbie our waitress was very nice. The food itself, not that bad. Everything else, literally e.v.e.r.y.t.h.i.n.g else sucks! Slow. Slower than molasses. The place was not packed and our drinks AND our food took forever. My 4 year old ordered the kids wings "with nothing in them" THIS MEANT BONELESS. He was brought bone in wings. Sent them back for boneless wings and we received three chicken tenders with the wing sauce in a cup on the side. They definitely had boneless wings because I ordered them. The whole messed up kids meal wouldn't have been a problem because we originally tried to order my boneless wings with two different sauces so we could share. We were told that was not allowed. Our cheese stick appetizer came out with our food. We had 2 tiny cups of ranch to share between all of our wings, fries and chips and we couldn't ask for anymore because the waitress spent her time stuffing her face at a table across the place or attempting to figure out what the Carolina or Clemson football team looked like on TV so other customers could watch the game (game never found) Finally asked for the check because I was done with the place. $43.25 for bad service and the wrong kids food (still on the bill and still sitting on the table untouched) I wouldn't recommend this place to an enemy. If you want okay food you could probably find that about anywhere else and probably have better service/luck. read more

My wife and I travel often since we retired and always read the reviews of places before we try them. I used to live here in Surfside Beach 45 years ago and am very familiar with the summertime crowds that appear here and Myrtle Beach during some times of year. The few bad reviews seemed to me to be related more to the extreme busyness and crowds that come here during the peak season. It was not at all busy when we arrived and were greeted as soon as we walked in the door. I noticed an ample amount of chairs for the times when the over flow crowds are here, very similar to the way I used to accommodate our overflow at our tax office during the peak season. I realize that people who aren't that familiar with seasonal businesses are sometimes not as understanding as we would like. We came for our first visit March 24, 2019 and ordered the 21 wings sesame and garlic butter Parmesan and found them to be large and delicious portions, perfectly cooked. The fried mushrooms were HUGE juicy and deliciously cooked to perfection. The poppers were wonderful as well. Our waitress immediately took our order and we had the food before us in about the normal cooking time which assured us the wings and food was fresh! I was very disappointed in this place! People were RUDE! My Husband, 17 and 13 year old sons came from Ohio super excited to try this place! wings are my kids favorite. We were seated when we walked in very back of the bar/restaurant. The place was not busy a table of 6 and a table of 4, plus couple people at the bar. We sat for 15 min the waitress looking down at us twice but never coming over. Another 4-5 other employee just walking around talking to each other. Two men walk in and the waitress walks over to them!! We got up and walked out a man sitting on a stole at the front I'm guessing fat Jack super defensive when we start to tell him what happened!!! Absolutely my favorite wing place in Myrtle beach. Last night we had the Texas gold, kicken bourbon, garlic Parmesan, teriyaki, hot, sweet bbq. Was uneasy about trying the Texas gold because I'm not a mustard fan. I was wrong they were pretty fantastic. The sauce of the month (kicken bourbon) was amazing I literally could have eaten just those. The garlic Parmesan was not the greasy chain restaurant type. All wings were nice and crispy and perfectly saucy. Fat jacks does accommodate for sauciness. For a party of 7 adults and a 5 yr old we ate 68 wings 3 appetizers a multitude of excellently priced beers and bloody Mary's + family sized desserts and 18% gratuity... grand total 217$... amazing!! Ps ask for server Jordan... GREAT server! She kept beers and waters flowing and always asked if we needed help! The best wing place especially for its small size and hometown feel. read more

We eat here each year. This year was terrible!! We waited in line for 30 minutes to get in...not because of the line but they were understaffed! I gave a two only because the food was pretty good. *30 minutes for someone to come and take a drink order. I had to go and find a waitress. *My daughter didn't get her order. I had to go and find the waitress. It had been overlooked so we had to wait and additional 15 minutes for her order. *After we finished eating had to wait another 15 minutes for a box and check. It was not busy at all!!! *Realized 18% gratuity had been added because we had 5 in our group! Insane!!! I typically give a 20-25% gratuity but she honestly did not deserve that much! *Tried to talk to the OWNER who was rude and so unprofessional!! Everything was OK but I wasn't very impressed. Wings were sitting in a puddle of grease (literally) and once we received our food we were never checked on again. No refills offered. Terrible Service. I have been going from years. I went June 4, 2016 and ordered 21 wing tray and an order of onion straws. First order of straws were not hot and were soggy. No problem. Sent them back and had another order cooked fresh. They were so over cooked they tasted burnt. Waitress came back and asked about them. I explained to her that they were burnt. She took them to the owner, who came over to our table, and asked if we wanted another appetizer. I explained that I didn't and she said she saw the other two orders and that they were acceptable to her. First of all, she wasn't eating them not was she paying for them. Another year and tried it again. This places makes me so mad. This BBQ Hot and Kamkazi wings are soooo good, but the service is so bad. The policies are even worse (refuse to give more than one sauce on 10 wings, add 18% gratuity to check without telling you, no special requests of any kind even if willing to pay extra fee). No customer service from the owner down. I would eat here every day if the policies and service didn't make me so angry. Will never go back. Meal for five was over $80. read more

This place was alright. We ordered 18 wings and two appetizers. We got medium, garlic parm, and honey BBQ sauces for on the wings. The wings were overlooked and dry on the inside. The yummy sauces helped cover that up. I would not order any appetizers again. We visited Fat Jack's last night on a whim as we drove by. It was a great place for us. The staff was extremely friendly and our waitress Debbie was fantastic. We had burgers which were delicious and my 4 year old grandson had a hot dog. He had a sore on his finger that was irritated by the ketchup and Debbie brought him a bandaid and a small stuffed toy penguin. He was absolutely thrilled and we were touched by the personal touch she provided. Fat Jack's is a family place with interesting decor and great food and service. Pretty good wings..the teriyaki jalapeño were really tasty (fav so far)... Also liked the buffalo traditional and the Thai version...all good. We tried the regular pretzels and the pub chips. Good...definitely a good place to go if you want some good wings. read more
