    Fried chicken salad sub
    Claudia M.

This place is one you have got to visit. It's located in Hatch local and the guy who runs it is super super nice and helpful. We got the chicken salad foot long- we added pickles and spicy peppers and changed to a strong provolone chee Oh my goodness. The best sandwich I've had in a very long time. It's like a fried chicken salad. It all melted together nicely toasted and crispy.

It's well known that fat kid sandwiches has some of the best sandwiches. The gobbler their thanksgiving sandwich takes fat kid to an entirely new sphere with this epic turkey, cranberry sauce, Swiss and hash brown sandwich with stuffing for bread. Wowza.

    Southwest chicken egg rolls

The location was a bit of a wonder for me, because it's located in an almost warehouse like center. Despite this, the staff was friendly and caring. I like that they call you to let you know your order is ready. They were inside of Hatch Kitchen, which looked clean and nice. I ordered the turkey bacon ranch with chicken egg rolls. The egg rolls were crispy and creamy with chicken on the inside. The sauce served with them was of mild spice, but otherwise so delicious. The TBR sub was very good. I love the amount of meat, bacon, and cheese, as it wasn't an 'empty' sub at all. The price was a bit steep at $26 and some change, but it was overall 7.8/10 worth it.

This little shop is full of Richmond cuteness. From specialty groceries, to locally-made art, to unique gifts and treasures, I could easily have filled my suitcase with goodies. I ended up buying a gorgeous postcard here (designed by a local artist) - the design featured the coffee shops of Richmond. Of course, I forgot to take a pic (who me?) but it was adorbs. The latte was delish, too! I don't usually like cherry-flavored things, but on a warm morning this was the perfect touch. The edible flowers made it just that much more delightful.

I usually come to this location for coffee, specifically coffee during a long wait at Perly's next door. I love their coffee options. This is an intimate/smaller Stella's Grocery, but it has all the local goods the others have packed in. There is a good amount of seating at the front too. You can order your coffee drinks at the front. They also have all the standard Stella's Greek food to go options. At the very front you're greeted by cute Richmond souvenirs and gifts. They have favorites in store like Nightingale Ice Cream sandwiches, Blanchard's coffee beans, Mad Kitchen Co. postcards, and more. I'd recommend getting a drink from here!

Everyone we spoke to (venues, coordinators, etc.) recommended Groovin, and as soon as we reached out we understood why - from the very beginning they were incredibly responsive, and happy to answer our many (many) questions. Kaylyn made the planning process easy, helping us to develop a staffing plan to help with the set-up of our venue (The Workshop by T&D, which was also great). Groovin staff came the day before to set up ceremony chairs and then immediately after the ceremony efficiently moved all the chairs to the other side of the venue for dinner. They helped us coordinate rentals with Party Perfect and had all the right answers (and questions) during our on-site venue walkthrough. As for the food itself, everything was delicious! People always tell you that you won't eat at your own wedding, but the food was so good that we sat and ate our entire plates. Guests raved and two friends told us that they even came up with targeted strategies to chase down their favorite hors d'oeuvre when they came out. We especially recommend the pork belly hors d'oeuvre and the szechuan salmon entree. From start to finish, Groovin' was efficient and professional, and we would highly recommend them for any event.

All of the caterers in the area have delicious food and Groovin' provided nothing less than exceptional, but it was their customer service that sets them head and shoulders above the rest. During our tasting, we enjoyed complimentary champagne upon arrival after we parked in our reserved and personalized parking space out front. The table was set beautifully, and dishes were presented exactly as they would be on Wedding Day. We were impressed from the jump, and our love of Groovin only grew once we tried the delicious foods! Throughout the process, Michelle was responsive to my MANY emails and questions, and on wedding day, all of our guests were impressed with the professionalism, kindness, outstanding service, and DELICIOUS food! My friends continue to rave about the hot honey chicken biscuits!

It is fast casual - you order at the kiosk and grab a place to eat, listening for your number and/or text to alert you the food is ready. We arrived about 6pm on a Saturday night. It was busy and I grabbed one of the last two tables. It got very busy shortly after we placed our orders. The dining area is pretty big with plenty of bar seating around the windows. While we all ordered one after the other, our food didn't come out that way. Most of the food came out in about 25-30 minutes. The chicken was cooked perfectly. Juicy! Two people got tenders and three of us got sandwiches. The OG sandwich was very good, just messy! I ended up using a fork and knife bc it got too messy. The Mac and cheese was made with pimento cheese and was very good. My friend who got the fried green tomatoes said they were delicious and filling. Lots of goodies on top. Two friends enjoyed the collards. The only person who was underwhelmed was the person who got the Asian sandwich. Overall, if I wanted a good chicken sandwich and a Buttermilk and Honey was nearby, I'd place an order.

We walked in to find the staff bustling, cooking, and prepping orders, and the smell of some delicious fried chicken in the air. I saw the kiosks and was not too thrilled with the Wawa experience, but we gave it a shot anyway, since fried chicken is one of our favorites. The process was simple and allowed us to add or remove anything we could want, so that was nice. While walking to find a seat, we saw a person panhandling in the dining area, but the staff promptly removed him from the premises. I ordered us the Pimento Cheese Balls for an appetizer, and I chose the Fried Chicken and French Toast as my entree because I always try the "chicken and waffles" at every establishment that offers it. My partner ordered the OG Chicken Sandwich without tomato, and it came with crinkle-cut fries. It was about $40. The chef proclaimed our order was ready in quick succession, maybe three orders behind the guests before us. We waited about ten minutes, maybe fifteen at most. We picked up the orders from the counter, and there was a mix-up on the syrup, but the chef promptly rectified the situation. He was a no-nonsense kind of guy; straight to the point. He seemed firm, yet kind. It was clear the day had been a busy one; he even told us as much, which was great to hear (busy = fantastic food). The French toast squares looked like rye or pumpernickel, and they emitted a sweet aroma, a delightful hit of cinnamon and brown sugar. I drizzled the caramel syrup on my chicken and toast, sliced a piece, and paired a bite of chicken with the toast. I closed my eyes to savor the flavors: the toast was crunchy and almost gooey (yet, not overly so), the chicken was crunchy, the sweet cinnamon-y flavors from the toast, the caramel from the syrup, and the tender, moist chicken were a match made in culinary art. I cannot sufficiently describe the French toast in a way that would do it justice; it was crunchy and semi-gooey, and all scrumptious. I can only say it was the single best French toast that I have ever had the pleasure of experiencing. Next, I tried the fried pimento cheese balls. Oh my. If you like mozzarella sticks, try these. I adored them: elevated fried cheese, for real. My partner enjoyed her sandwich as well; she ate everything except some of her fries. I saved half of my chicken and toast for today because I am like a treasure golem when it comes to delicious leftovers. I am going to air-fry the chicken and skillet-heat the toast back to its original goodness. I told the cooks that that was the best French toast that I have ever had, and I mean it. Do yourself a favor and try it if you're into French toast. This one is the GOAT. Side note: I spoke with the head chef outside, and he is from another branch (possibly Henrico?) to whip this location back into shape. Two words: "Nailed it."
