    Chicken Caesar sandwich!
    Christina M.

The chicken Caesar sandwich is one of the best sandwiches I've had in a long time. Really generous size and the flavor was INCREDIBLE. The staff were so nice here and it just feels like a neighborhood gem. There are a few seats in the windows where you can sit. Highly recommend upgrading the side that comes with your sandwich to try their banana pudding!

I ordered a chicken bacon ranch sandwich and it was very good. I ordered ahead so did not experience a wait. The sandwich was worth the price for sure, it was very big and full. Also, the sandwich comes with a little bag of chips :). I will order again.

There must be something magical about this building... The old 8 1/2 Pizza Churchill was amazing, now Chimbo has taken over and their sandwiches are phenomenal. Just go. And get a side of homemade sauce/dressing, any one of them. So far, I've tried the Chicken Caesar and the Club. Zero complaints.

My husband and I split two 8" subs - the chicken Caesar and fig and pig. The chicken Caesar was delicious. From the garlic crust on the chicken, to the large cut of chicken breast, to the Caesar dressing, everything just went together. Our only complaint is the bread was a little tough/almost too thick. But it was still delicious and we gave it a 8/10 and 7.8/10, respectively. I personally was not a fan of the fig and pig because of the Gorgonzola cheese sauce - it's very strong and I didn't realize Gorgonzola is reminiscent of blue cheese. But my husband liked this one and gave it a 7/10. We also felt everything was reasonably priced, it came to about $37 for two subs and two bags of chips. We'll definitely be back to try more subs!

The only sandwich shop you need. Sandwiches are huge and taste incredible. Service is always quick and friendly. Beware sometimes they run out (often times on the weekends)

What can I say...a Churchill gem! Friendly staff and good customer service. A great place to frequent when in the mood for a sandwich and portion doesn't disappoint. My go-to is the Chickpea on lightly toasted baguette (typically served on sourdough) --which is made in house. The space is intimate, but most customers order to-go. Truly one of my favorite digs in the Cap City! See you soon!

My favoritest big lil bro in the entire universe blessed his older cute sister with lunch today (in the mist of my morning shenanigans I was unable to secure breakfast or lunch so his offer was right on time). Let me preface that we both exchange food content daily of places that look good etc and he recently sent a TikTok highlighting a sandwich from @chimbosandwichshoppe and it did not disappoint! We both got the club sandwich, a bag of @utzsnacks plain chips and a banana pudding! Woowww! He said they were packed (after a work shift in this heat it had to be love for him to wait 30 mins but so glad he did lol). That was one a enormous sandwich so much so I saved half! Everything was so fresh from the toppings to the sub roll (his rating was 4.2/5 stating he added a bit more mayo and so did I, I would rate the sandwich 4/5 in that it was bread heavy to me (and I love bread) good amount of meat, cheese and toppings tho so overall an amazing sandwich, I so get the hype! Now that banana pudding baby... was so light, creamy and not too sweet at all, good amount of cookies and the bananas weren't browning so that would indicate that they were fresh (didn't taste any lemon either lol, 4.5/5). While waiting he met a lovely couple who suggested a few more places for us foodies to try, I guess my treat next, thanks again Bro!

TLDR; sandwiches are HUGE and delicious! Great place for takeout. Vibes: the restaurant is small and quaint. You can order ahead or at the counter and there are several barstools along the window for sitting. Food: If you're worried about the portion or price of the sandwich - DONT BE! They're MUCH bigger than you're probably imagining! The half sandwich is $14-$16 and comes with a bag of chips. The portion is so generous, I think it's well worth the price. My husband and I ordered two half sandwiches to share. We had enough for lunch and dinner. Here's what we got: The Ceasar: crispy chicken + all of the makings and flavor you'd expect from a Ceasar salad. DELICIOUS! Next time I'll ask for a little more Ceasar dressing. The Tuscan: very saucy and flavorful! We both enjoyed the sandwich but felt it was missing something. We'll definitely get it again but will add a cheese next time! I didn't see this online but in store there's an option to build your own. Looking forward to trying that!

I didn't think sandwiches could be SO good. We ate them 2 days ago and I'm still drooling. They weren't kidding - these sandwiches are absolutely massive and overflowing. They're meant to be shared or eaten over multiple meals so they are priced accordingly. I appreciate that they listened to customer feedback and added half sizes (8 inches). I can't imagine how large the whole 15 inch sandwich is. We tried the Tuscan and classic Italian with a side of lemon aioli. The Tuscan was very saucy and flavorful. The Italian felt like it had 3 lbs of deli meats and we had meat sweats after only eating half of the half size. The lemon aioli was a nice addition and they provide a reasonable amount for 75 cents. I'm usually cautious about toasted baguettes because they can cut the roof of your mouth but these were actually quite fluffy. All sandwiches come with chips, which were a small 1 oz bags of Utz chips. Kettle chips would match the quality of their food more. This is mainly a take-out spot. They have a handful of bar seating facing the windows but it can easily be crowded inside. There is very limited waiting space so I'd recommend calling your order in ahead of time. They don't seem to have a website yet. I found their menu on their social media. They also have pasta salad and some desserts.

If this place has one fan, it's me. If this place has no fans, I'm dead. Legitimately one of the most delicious sandwiches I have ever had in my life - not trying to be dramatic or hyperbolic either. It is amazing what these guys have put together. Every single sandwich recipe is unique - something you quite literally cannot find anywhere else. They put their own unique spin on most everything - and then blow it up into a generously sized hoagie that's enough for like four meals! Seriously - you get your money's worth here and then some. It's hard to say which is our favorite - but if I had to choose one, the chicken caesar is TO DIE FOR. Or the Fried Chokes. Both just incredible bursts of flavor with just the right amount of veggie to balance out the fried goodness alongside it. Awesome ambiance when you walk in - gives off the vibe of a neighborhood sandwich shop. When you walk in, it feels like they know you - or at least care about you. Super approachable staff, detailed menu, and some cool colorful merch too. Plus its walkable to our new place in Church Hill so what is there not to love?!?! Legitimately so impressed with everything here - opened right on time with us moving to the neighborhood, it's almost as if they knew we were coming!

Let's talk about these sandwiches. I'm almost positive one bite and all your sins will be forgiven. I've tried their subs 3 times now and they do NOT disappoint. It's a fully packed toasted baguette with fresh ingredients. The marinated sliced pork loin, banana peppers relish and the horseradish aioli , that flavor is delicious. There are no grocery store deli meats here, it's chicken cutlets, marinated pork and flank steak, ham, pepperoni, prosciutto - high quality meats. You get what you PAY for people - $15-16 for a half sub, little pricey but one bite and you will be so happy with your purchase. Each time I have visited, there has been a 20-30 minute wait so please do not get restless , waiting for your delicious sub. The flavors of the meats topped with the dressings are absolutely fantastic. Well done Chimbo! Welcome to the neighborhood & make yourself at home.

Earlier in the month, I was finally able to check them out for the first time. I had my eye on their Italian hoagie, which is listed under the Cold section, but I know better at this point in time of living in the South and the many Italian hoagies that I have had to refrigerate. So I ordered it without the tomato or peppers and served cold. I ordered it through the bartender, who told me that they do serve them cold and that they were out of peppers that day. Turns out they were not out of peppers and they did not serve it cold. I can't eat peppers due to food sensitivities, so I sent it back and asked for it to be re-made. This was the bartender's mistake, from the receipt I could see that he didn't send those notes to Fat Kid, to be clear. The second rendition was made correctly, and it was definitely tasty, but they are overpriced. It's pretty obvious from my picture that this wasn't some hefty, super stuffed and loaded with meats/cheese hoagie. It looks like a normal 6" hoagie. Not worth $11 for it, in my opinion. I'd rather spend $16 at Stanley's or $10 for a full-size at Mr. Submarine.

We were surprised by the size of the restaurant when we walked in. It seems smaller from the outside; not that it was huge, just deceiving. It reminded me of a homey Jason's Deli (IYKYK). The woman at the counter was helpful and kind. We had a few questions about some items on the menu, and she asked the kitchen staff anything that she didn't know offhand. We decided on the fried cauliflower for an appetizer; it was monstrously huge, and much more flavorful than I expected. The spices and textures on the plate added a lot to the dish's overall essence. I ordered the Rachel for an entree, and my partner ordered the Sharona. I subbed the chips for a side salad. The salad was tangy or tart, almost bitter. I didn't mind; I thought it was quite good. It is a lot of acidity if you are not expecting it. The Rachel was fantastic, except that the coleslaw had some onion bits mixed in. We are not onion fans in this household. Ha The Sharona would have been a better choice, as I much prefer pickles to oniony coleslaw. My partner said she really liked hers. We had half a sandwich each for leftovers the next day, and shared the leftover chips, since I finished off my salad the night before. The sandwiches heated up exquisitely in the oven at 325°F for 15 minutes. I felt that Susie's is a definite hidden gem, and I can recommend it to anyone who likes a well-made sandwich. I will be back to sample more of the menu and report back my findings at a future date.

The florets stayed crispy, the whipped feta, chilies, and pomegranate made an unexpectedly pleasant combo. The Reuben was well executed. The bread retained its sturdiness instead of the normal sponge like qualities you might find with other Reubens around town. The meat was melt in your mouth tender and every bite contained components of the sandwich, rather than the usual wrestling match of sliced meat in your mouth. The service was meh. It's counter service with sit down restaurant prices. Here's the funny thing: you are given a number for food to be delivered to your table. The waitress puts the food down on your table and directs you to a rolling cart where plates, napkins, etc. are BUT the waitress has to pass the rolling cart to bring you your food. Could we have not received appetizer plates and silverware when we checked out and were handed our drinks? I don't think anyone can get excited about Jason's Deli type service at lunch at Lemaire prices.
