It's drive-thru only, and the guy at the window was super kind and let us look over the menu since it was our first time here. The burgers come in different sizes, and I went with the 1lb burger with all the toppings. My husband got the catfish sandwich. There was a bit of a wait, but that's expected for fresh food. When we got our order, we were surprised by the portion size! The burger was so good... definitely my favorite. The catfish sandwich was okay, just a little on the dry side, but the fries were great... hot and perfectly crunchy. The staff was very friendly and welcoming. You get a TON of food, great pricing, fast service, and it's delicious! The menus could be updated a little and rearranged- it was hard to see some of the items (although it doesn't help I didn't have my glasses on...oops!). It's fast food, its greasy, its juicy, and cooked incredibly fresh and tastes good. Prices are slightly higher than I anticipated for what I ordered. A double-meat cheeseburger cannot be justified with a $10 price tag from a joint that isent exactly "gourmet". The fires were piping hot, seasoned VERY well and was stuffing my face with fistfuls of the stuff. The winds were also steaming, juicy and delish but fairly standard. The burger was a VERY healthy size, but the bacon was a bit too crispy and the lettuce wasent crisp at all. Overall I enjoyed by meal but for the price I would have enjoyed a Gabby more. read more

If you judge this restaurant solely by its appearance, it would be easy to make the same mistake I did and drive past it 100 times without a second thought. Today was the 101st time I saw the Fat Mo's on Richards Road. I pulled in the parking lot for a closer look. There's no nice way to put it, the building is a total dump on the outside. If it weren't for the other cars in the parking lot, I would've swore the place had been closed for 15 years. I got to the window to order and was completely overwhelmed by the expansive menu these guys offer from this little shack. I was greeted by a friendly gentleman who undoubtably saw the total bewilderment on my face as he graciously offered me to take my time to order (pro tip: study the menu prior to your arrival). The delicious aroma of fried goodness coming through my vehicle's window was a welcoming comfort as I set my sights on a reasonably sized burger and fries. It was my first time, and I figured to play it safe. I placed my order, paid, and drove around the building (ordering is on one side, pick up is on the other). It took about 5 minutes for my order to be ready, which is fine with me because I'd rather eat real food instead of a 30 second science experiment. If you're still reading this review, I'll spare you the explicit details of every single way that my burger was perfect. However, I will admit that a single tear of joy rolled down my right cheek while I ate it. Thank you Fat Mo's on Richards Road for renewing my faith in trying new things in Antioch. You may very well be the only place around here that has good food figured out. Nashville's local culinary scene is beginning to get a Justin Bieber, "huge ego where little is deserved" complex here on Yelp. The truth is that a celebrity chef, a menu that reads like a biology experiment, or a bar staff that is dressed like they stepped off of the Titanic is not a caveat for being a great local Nashville restaurant. Enter Fat Moes. Fat Moes was a Nashville original when Ruby Tuesdays was considered a local restaurant. Every single thing that comes off the Moes menu is delicious. Yes it is fast food. Er sorta..it takes about five or six minutes. However, just because it's fast doesnt mean it belongs lumped together with the other corporate garbage out there..In fact, you'll will question how they have not put the taco bells and bk's out of biz in the Antioch area. Unlike the aforementioned, Moe's uses actual ingredients that resemble real food..not only do the beef and chicken taste like beef and chicken should, they taste better than what some of the twenty dollar burger joints around town are offering. Also, did I mention that the menu has almost fifty items..Burgers, chicken sandwiches, CORN DOGS, philly cheesesteaks, stuffed jalapenos, mozzerella sticks, gyros, milkshakes(32oz made with ice cream and milk, not 'frosty slurry') etc. I've eaten almost all of it and have yet to reflect upon the meal as not worth every fucking penny I spent..I can't say that about all the local places floating around(looking at you barista parlour). Ontop of all this glory, the burgers and chicken sandwiches weigh about THREE POUNDS. As a final note of awesomeness, this place is not trendy..there is nary a hipster or millionare 25 year old to be seen..Which in itsself is a great reason to go..This city is trying too hard to be cool, kinda like that nerdy kid who goes out and buys Affliction brand clothing..He should have just rode it out..Same with nashville..Fat moes oozes and sweats genuine nashville. I love Fat mos food on Richards rd, it's the best! I've ordered here plenty of times I love their burgers and if you don't want the biggest burger they have which literally feeds 2 ppl or even 3. You can get the small one but like deluxe. And spicy fries mmm the best around. Although I've had many items the catfish sandwich is also a favorite and my favorite now fried mushrooms idk but I have a taste for them only from this place. First off, there were three cars in front of me and it took me almost 25 minutes from arriving to leaving the place. As other reviews have mentioned, the outside is nothing to look at and is pretty run down. The car in front of me only ordered two shakes and they had to wait 20 minutes for those. After waiting almost 25 minutes myself, I had high expectations for the food. I was extremely disappointed. I ordered the Fat Mo w/ spicy fries. The fries were hot and crispy, but they had zero spice to them. Zero. I paid extra for the spicy and got zero spice. As for the burger, it was all bun. The patty was thin and did not even come to the edge of the bun. Way too much bread. I have a really hard time believing it was a half-pound patty. I would believe a quarter-pound patty, but not half. The meat was not seasoned at all. It was a very bland, thin patty sitting on a giant soft bun w/ some condiments. The menu said what I ordered should have been $6.48. I was charged $7.52. Even w/ the 10% sales tax, I should have only been charged $7.13. Granted it's only about a $0.40 difference, but it's still misrepresentation. They also do not provide a receipt. Be sure to pay attention to what you are paying for. I would honestly never come back here. It's not worth the time or money for what it is. I'm bummed since they had some decent reviews. You definitely get your money's worth here. Portions are large and in charge! They seriously don't kid around. I ordered a side of fries for my toddler and they gave us a whole to-go box filled to the brim! That one side would've fed our whole family of 5. I prefer the other location to this one which is why I gave this one 3 stars. They never give us condiments unless we ask. At different times we've ordered cheese sticks and mushrooms and both were very dry without some kind of dipping sauce. The mushrooms were definitely not the best I've ever had. When you take a bite, you get more of a mouthful of grease than actual mushroom. We usually have to repeat our order back several times before they get everything and we're not the type that just spits everything out in one long breath. Customer service is pretty sub-par. They're not rude but they're not very welcoming either. We normally order burgers when coming here but I ordered the grilled chicken sandwich trying to be somewhat healthy (it's kind of impossible here). My chicken was very dry and tough. The burgers are always pretty good though. All in all, I like Fat Mo's when craving a burger but will venture to the other location instead. read more
