Cheesesteak and Fries
Schyler D.

Hole in the wall strikes again (in a good way)! Ordered the standard cheesesteak with fries. It was cooked fresh to order, which took time but was well worth it. Sandwich was awesome and is a TON of food for the price, it made for 2 whole meals.

We stopped here for a quick lunch while in town for a hockey tournament. My wife found this place on Yelp, and it got good reviews, so we stopped after a 3+ hour drive into town. It's a tiny place hidden in the corner of a shopping center...somewhat hard to find. About our experience: First, if you plan to come to Philly & Burgers, don't plan to dine-in. The place is filthy, has no atmosphere, and the owners blast spiritual music. Second, if you plan to come here, pee at home. The owner handed us a restroom key on a GIANT yellow chain. Yes, that is correct, a restaurant gave us a key for the restroom attached to a GIANT chain. My wife came out of the women's room and told me how disgusting it was. I figured it was a little dingy...I was wrong. At first I couldn't get the men's room lights to come on. After futzing with the light switch, they finally came on to reveal what was akin to a disgusting roadside gas station bathroom that was last cleaned when grunge was en vogue. There were no towels to dry your hands and the filthy hand dryer barely worked. Then, after washing your hands and likely drying them on your clothes, you have to pick up the GIANT yellow chain again to return it. So, bring your own hand sanitizer too. And now for the food... The food was okay. We split a 12 chicken philly. The owner kindly gave us 2 6 in sandwiches. We also had a side of zucchini sticks. The sandwich was huge, as advertised. Neither of us finished our 6 inch sandwich, and we both ate open-faced style with a knife and fork (it was too big to pick up). The sandwich was tasty, but a bit dry. The cheese wasn't all the way melted (see pic), but it was okay. The zucchini sticks were really good. They were breaded nicely and the zucchini was tasty. My wife said that if she had seen the bathrooms before we ordered food, she would have walked out. They were that disgusting. The women's room apparently has vomit and/or feces around the toilet and on the wall. I didn't see anything similar in the men's although it was also quite disgusting. Anyway, if you're looking for okay takeaway grub, this place will do. But don't ever, ever plan to eat inside. And definitely do your business at home and not here.

DC (During COVID) I was craving for some Philly cheesesteak and discovered this place. It has lots of reviews and worth checking out! Drove 25 minutes to satisfy my craving and it was worth it! Below is a list of points why this is worth a visit! 1. Food was portion was no joke! It was huge! My gf and I each had the cheesesteak and chicken-steak. I know the menu said the sub 6" inch sub but its 8" inches. I thought 6" inches will not be enough and it was plenty. The sandwich was packed with meat, mushroom, green peppers, onions, and cheese. My only complaint is more cheese to balance everything else. The zucchini and mozzarella stick was fried to perfection! I couldn't be happier. The fries were nice and crispy was happy with it. 2. Flavor the meat was flavorful! You can taste the meat without being too overwhelmed with the seasoning. I do wish the fries have some seaning on them. 3. The roll - the vessel that holds everything together! Unfortunately, 25 minutes' drive back home one of my sandwiches was soggy. But the other one was nicely soft and it was still good days later. 4. Service, the guy on the phone was really friendly when we placed our order. The service on the pickup was quick our food was ready, and the lady was friendly. 4. Overall I'm satisfied and recommend this place. If you are craving some zucchini sticks, cheesesteak, mozzarella sticks this the place to go!

I was looking for a good burger place for lunch, and I am so happy I strolled across this gem. I order the 1lb Mushroom Burger, and omg, it's humongous!! The price for the portion is unheard of! I couldn't even finish it, I asked to purchase a second bun, but the owner gave me one free. The burger was well seasoned, and there were plenty of mushrooms. I received excellent service too. I mean, I have no complaints. This will be my new go-to burger place.

Lamb Burger after bun has disintegrated

Back in the day, I used to hang out in the Hickory Hollow area. There's a new restaurant there now, Philly & Burgers, and its where i took my wife for lunch. This was one neat place. The walls were covered with art. Sorta like free flowing graffiti, stream of consciousness stuff. One of the co-owners, who ran a radio station, was pumping his music into the restaurant We ordered at the counter. First, we got an order of of fried zucchini sticks to share. The portion was ample. The just cooked zucchini was crunchy on the outside and yummy on the inside. My wife tried their 6" Philly Cheese Steak sandwich. She said that it tasted better that any one she'd ever had in Buffalo- her hometown. I was looking forward to the lamb burger so I hungrily ordered one. That burger was huge!! There were 12 ounces of perfectly cooked lamb meat on a little hamburger bun. After only a few bites of the glorious lamb, the bread in the lower bun disintegrated. As cooked lamb, the dish was superb, but as a burger, it was an EPIC FAIL. Now to rate Philly & Burgers. The wall art is worth a visit all by itself. Those fried zucchini sticks with ranch dressing dip were winners. My wife loved her Philly cheese steak sandwich. There was a mountain of perfectly cooked lamb meat on my burger. Unfortunately, the lamb all ended up on my plate when the bun failed and the burger died. Four stars for Philly & Burgers.

Ordered through GrubHub. Order consisted of 2 Super Smash Cheeseburger, and a Super Smash Jalapeno Bacon Cheeseburger along with fries, onion rings, and 3 Sprites. The flavor of the burgers weren't bad but how the hell you gonna leave off the top bun on one of the burgers!?

we got the mushroom swiss cheeseburger this time and Philly & Burgers did not disappoint!

Stopped in for the first time and it was AWESOME! My son and I got the large cheese steaks and they were huge...over the top good. The guys were were super nice, and another first customer got the cheese burger and we were laughing at how good our meals were. Will definitely be back!

The owner was working the cash register. She is passionate about her food and business. The Philly was big and delicious. Lots of grill veggies in it. Yum! I like to support family owned businesses and would definitely come back here

Food portions are large but the food lacks any kind of flavor! It's needs to be seasoned badly. Wasted money!

It is a lot of food..... but has no taste. I ordered the 12 Philly and it had to be the most bland cheesesteak that I have ever had. The was nothing bad about it just very very plain. I would suggest reading more of the reviews before proceeding.

The orders were mismatched so we had to hand bags, fries, onion rings, and condiments around. McDonalds and Five Guys can get it right, so I suspect it has something to do with Whataburger's order management software. If they are cooking the food fresh, the 10-12 minute wait was certainly worth it. The patty melt and onion rings were really good. The kids enjoyed their food as well. The soda fountain mix tasted a little off compared to other big box burger joints. It may have just been this location. Additionally, they didn't mark the diet drink so we had to have one of the kids check and then swap drinks around.

I think I chose the wrong option (ordering at the counter), because the person behind the counter acted like I invaded his personal space and was asking his mother to make me food from her own kitchen. He was wiping down trays when I walked up to order, and he did not stop wiping those dang trays the entire time he reluctantly punched in my order. Do I offend? (No Duckie from Pretty in Pink.) And guess what: Homie didn't get my order correct! I guess I should have ordered from the kiosk. If you visit this Whataburger, you should order from the kiosk. The food itself is fine. Cheeseburgers come with everything on them, unless you specifically order differently. Everything includes yellow mustard and pickles. The hamburger buns were a little less than fresh. The fries tasted like they had been under a warming lamp for a little while. For real, though: This Whataburger location needs to get it together, because it's located next to an In-N-Out. You're competing against the best of the best, Whataburger.

Burger Republic has been one of our go-to places for so long, but tonight has changed that for us…read morein such a horrible way I had to share our experience. We ordered takeout tonight. 2 burgers and the crab dip. My wife ordered the Hawaiian Burger with meat instead of chicken. When she arrived to pick it up, she asked the manager to confirm it was a burger and not chicken as she is allergic to chicken. The manager assured her that if the receipt said meat, it would have meat and not chicken. My wife drove 20 mins home just to find out the burger had chicken and not meat. So she called back the restaurant and asked if they could make her the order she paid for and thought had picked up. The manager said it would take a minimum of 20 mins or longer because they were so busy and under staffed. My wife then went back to the restaurant and she waited more than 45 mins for a burger to be made. It was ridiculous. And when she asked to be refunded for the burger, would you believe she had to argue why they should refund a burger more than 90 mins after the original order. How could it possibly take almost an hour to make a new burger? They were never really apologetic for their screw-up and seemed to be annoyed that we paid for something that they didn't originally deliver, and then used being too busy and under staffed to fix the problem. Unfortunately, we will never go back! We'll have to find a new highend burger place, one that cares about delivering quality service to their customers and know how to apologize when they screw up.
