We were excited to try Fat Zach's for the 1st time. I saw they had a Wednesday special 2 pizza's for $20. I called and verified that was the special today and ordered 2 pizza's and a caprese salad. When I go to pick up the cashier said "we don't have tomatoes so we can't sell that salad." and continued to ring me up fast. My minus 2 stars is because it would have been nice to get a phone call and given the option to choose something different or even be asked at the counter if I wanted to try a different salad. I also got charged $22 the normal price for 2 pizzas not $20 as advertised even though I verified the price on the phone. I know $2.00 really isn't a big deal but you really should only charge the advertised price. It feels like you are misleading the customer. Besides that the pizza was very good. Well I'm not sure if we just got food on a bad day or what, but unfortunately we won't be going back. We ordered using Door Dash. Our driver's route was approximately 11 minutes and we were eating within a few minutes of arrival (we were hungry after working outside all day-no waiting here lol). I would say the pizza left the restaurant and we were eating it within 15 minutes. We got two pizzas, the 18 Wheeler (combo) and the Fatboy (pepperoni). The crust on both pizzas was very thin, thin enough that you pick up a small slice and the pizza flops. I mean, that's cool if it's advertised as such, but this wasn't. Unless if I missed it somewhere..? The pizzas were also quite small. Anywho, the Fatboy was good. Good pepperoni taste and good cheese amount. They were a little stingy on the pepperoni amount, but whatever. The 18 Wheeler was fairly disappointing. The cheese occupied about half the pizza and there was ample space where you could see just dough and sauce. I mean, I still ate it, but ehh..? I did feel like there was enough toppings besides the cheese. We got garlic cheese bread. It was small quantity and very thin crust but good flavor. The marinara that comes with it was also good. Lastly, we got the wings. Now... I'm not sure if we just got these wings on a bad day, or if the fact that we ate it 15 minutes after they left the restaurant played a role, but man.. these were by far the worst wings both my husband and I had ever eaten. They were cold inside and out.. not like fridge cold, but like sat-on-the-counter-for-2-hours cold. The skin was squishy and almost.. rubbery..? Almost like the wings had been boiled yesterday and then refrigerated, microwaved today until the outside felt warm and tossed in sauce. I am not joking lol. I normally adore chicken wings.. I ate two of these wings and had to stop because I couldn't stand the thought of putting more of that squishy cold chicken skin back in my mouth. These wings were like the epitome of the word "moist". The sauce was ok, nothing horrible but nothing special. No dipping sauce came with the wings. We boxed up the rest and put them in the fridge.. I may try to see if I can fix them tomorrow, but if not they will get tossed. I truly don't think eating them in the restaurant would've saved these lost wings lol. The price is meh for a 10" pie and their pepperoni pie wasn't really anything special but, the pickle pie is amazing!!! It saved the whole experience. I have been back twice in the same week for that deliciousness. Def recommend that one. We tried the cannolis also and again, not really anything crazy about it. My husband and I visited Fat Zach's Pizza in Sumner for the first time. My husband has Celiac disease. We ordered one gluten-free pizza for him and a regular pizza for me. Our pizza's were similar: Fat Zach and mine was the 18 Wheeler. Sausage, pepperoni and Canadian Bacon). The first pizza got done and they said: "Gluten Free Doug. My husband started eating his pizza. When I got my pizza, we realized he was eating my pizza. I asked Shanna , the gal that took our order, was the first pizza that came out, gluten free. She said no the second one is. I love fat Zach's pizza I have celiac disease and they have the gluten free crust around. how ever on our visit in the south hill location as my wife placed our order she requested a gluten free crust in which they ask allergies or preference, but this time they responded with its to busy to do that right now. which my response was you've done every other time then when ordering a half and half for our daughter they said we don't really do that during a rush. she demanded and they did it so we got what we wanted but the attempt to not make our order which I don't feel was complicated was definitely front and center. we will still come to fat Zachs but definitely they need to do better. read more

My husband and I were driving around yesterday (2/6/21) and saw this place, decided to stop in even though we weren't super hungry. Man are we glad we did!!! This is now our new favorite pizza place - We had the Poly Pig (Hawaiian) and the Farmers Market (veggie) the crust was amazing and the toppings were perfect. They even have Half Lion beers (canned and on tap) best place to go to support local AND have outstanding pizza! We were able to sit down and eat inside however, you can even order online and pick up in the drive through- Highly recommend and we will be back! read more

I would recommend FZP to anyone at this point. We had our wedding reception catered by Fat Zach's and it was incredible. They cooked and served on site, were quick, kind, clean, and overall so wonderful! I was so impressed with how well it turned out. Guests were complimenting our choice of catering, and majority were raving about the dill pizza. I actually almost requested that they didn't make that because I thought, 'how odd.' Haha, so glad I didn't! It was a favorite. The day after the reception, my maid of honor and I were back and forth on ordering the dill pizza again.. for lunch... I also appreciated the fact that with our buffet, they were more than accommodating to make a 'his' and 'hers' pizza per our request. They were perfect. I met the restaurant's owner and namesake, Zach, randomly while playing golf in Leavenworth. He seemed like a really friendly guy and was an enthusiasticentrepreneur. I was impressed. He mentioned his restaurants and said that I should give his place a try. Since I happened to be in the Sumner area, I decided to stop by to get a pie to go. I told the employees that I planned to reheat it later that evening. They were willing to slightly undercook the pizza so it wouldn't be overdone when reheated. They did a great job. The pizza had high quality ingredients and that excellent wood fired crust that is unbeatable. I got a simple pepperoni this time, but they have plenty of classic and unique combinations that I definitely want to go back and try. I will definitely be back. Great Pizza - Poor service. My wife and I tried to take advantage of their $11 all day 'Sumner Sunday' pizza promotion. See here: https://www.fatzachspizza.com/sumnermenu. We called in the order and the staff at first said they did not have an $11 per pizza offer. After pointing out that we saw it on the web site, they said they did have the offer and took our order. When arriving to pick up the pizza, they said it was $11.45 per pizza. I pointed out that we were getting the $11 offer on their web site, and I showed her the "$11 / Pizza - all day Sumner Sunday" special on my phone. She replied, 'I'm going to see if it is cheaper to get the 2 for $24 special'. I pointed out that that would be more than $11 / pizza ($22). This was very frustrating because we went back and forth - me saying the offer is $11 / pizza and she said yes - that will be $11.45 each. Her explanation was 'we have no way to ring up a $11 pizza. I know this may sound trivial - but it's expecting you're paying X and they charge you Y with no good explanation. The Zach's person was very nice - but zero empathy for my position. Finally saying, 'I'll give you back the cents'. I would have been happy if she just charged me what their printed menu price states "$11 / Pizza - all day Sunday". I ordered my meal using the Yelp ordering app. I asked for the meal to be done ASAP and when I closed the app I tried to call and ask a question about my order and the phone kept coming up as busy. When I arrived 20 min later they told me it was on its way out and would only be a couple min. 10 min later I asked where my order was and they said it was going in the oven now. When I asked about what happened they said the order told them ready by 1:30. I told them I asked for ASAP and showed them the screen shot. Make a great tasting pizza! My only issue was that I ordered 5 pizzas and three were the exact same kind but they did not look the same. One was really well loaded and covered the whole pizza. The other two had about half as much toppings and only covered about two thirds of the pizza lightly?!? I was told by others that this is an issue and you need to check your pizza before leaving. All depends on who makes your pizza. Apparently they have good customer service and will fix the issue. I really hope so because they do make a good pizza but I do not want to feel like I got shafted on the toppings. I would give five stars on taste alone. My grandson got the full topping pizza and was nice enough to swap me half and half so I got some of the loaded pizza. read more

We were craving pizza, and wanted to support a local establishment during this quarantine. We got a to-go order of Fat Zach's pizza and we were SO happy we did! It was our first time trying it (although I have driven past their food truck/cart in Puyallup a hundred times) and I was really impressed by the price, quality, and taste. The pizza was similar in style to MOD pizza (thin crust, personal 10in size)...except Fat Zach's in my opinion is tastier! The crust is thin but still has some softness. Ordered three pizzas for carry out tonight. Should have checked them before I left. We have ordered several times from them before. Got home was getting ready to serve the family dinner open the first box pizza looks amazing open second box no pizza third box looked great. So I call them to let them know I was missing a pizza. Was asked several times what I ordered . Finally the guy found my ticket. I was made to feel like I was lying about the pizza missing. Finally he offered my money back for the pizza or I could pick up the pizza . Since was dinner I had to go back and get the pizza. When I got there I was met by the young man who had cashed me out he handed me my pizza no apology no nothing. I said I didn't appreciate being treated like I was lying about the missing pizza , the young man cutting the pizza then came very rudely to me and said that they are busy and I should except these types of things to happen. I completely understand that they are busy as are most pizza places right now . I asked for the mangers card. He stated they don't have a managers card so I asked for the number I was given a number that goes straight to voicemail. I will NEVER come back to this place again. So first of all, I generally LOVE the pizza here. It's that thin crust, with Napoli-style sauce that I crave often. We were super excited when they opened this location in Sumner back in the spring and we shared with everyone we know so they could stay in business during COVID. Sadly, the two stars are due to customer service. It's been rough recently. Our last three takeout orders have been a nightmare. On the first negative experience my husband didn't get the toppings he ordered and the dessert pizza we ordered was hard and burned to a crisp. To be fair, we contacted the manager (Zach himself) and he apologized and gave us a food credit for next time. The next time, we tried to cash in our food credit and the employees had no idea what we were talking about and there was a lot of confusion and discussions amongst employees on what to do, all while our pizzas sat waiting for us in the drive-thru. Finally got our credit and got home and still had toppings missing. This last time, we specifically ordered "double mushrooms" really enforcing to the staff on the phone that we REALLY like mushrooms, so please add extra. Went to pick them up at the drive thru, and no one could find our order. Again, lots of discussing and confusion amongst the staff, until finally our pizzas were "found" somewhere. Got home, and there were our pizzas, with just a few little slices of mushroom tossed on them. *sigh* I really want to love Fat Zach's!!! The concept is great. When the pizza's done right, it's terrific. We appreciate the drive-thru pick-up during COVID times. But there is definitely a disconnect with the execution by some of the staff that needs be addressed. I hope they can get it together. read more

Uber Eats order. I ordered 10" Fat Boy, Garden Salad, Garden Ciabatta Breadsticks, and a pound of BBQ wings. The Fat Boys' double stacked pepperoni amounted to exactly 13 pieces of pepperoni. There was nothing double stacked about it lol. Otherwise while small, it was 10" and relatively tasty. Now, the garden salad never arrived so I can't rate that. The Garlic Ciabatta Bread was an uninspiring joke. I found them a tasteless waste of the packaging that certainly didn't rise to the menus picture. Lastly the wings. I was excited to finally find a NW pizza place that offers wings. And you know what? They weren't bad. Except, instead of the bbq that I ordered, I got something that more closely resembled sweet chili sauce. Lastly there were no condiments that I ordered included.
