Hanging out in Brooklyn, feeling like chinese food so we settled on Chun Vegetarian on Nostrand avenue. Cute spot; eat in and take out. Wall menu showed pictures of various dishes, paper menu lists everthing they have to offer. We settled on scallion pancakes, salt and pepper fried oyster mushrooms and hot and sour soup for appetizers. The pancakes were a tad gummy for my taste but the mushrooms did not disappoint. The tempura batter was light, crispy and flavorful but we ran out of dipping sauce due to the generous portion of mushrooms we received. The soup was hot and spicy, the perfet warm up for a chilly night out. Both entrees were large enough for two meals. The fried rice w/spare rib was delicious but a tad greasy. The orange tangerine chicken w/broccoli fell short. Although the broccoli was cooked to perfection, the chicken was not a hit. Covered in sauce, the nuggets did not have a meaty texture. They were dense and flat not at all tasty. Overall, the food was good, will be back to try other menu items. read more

This food is soooo damn good. Just typed in "vegetarian" on here and this was on of the options. Everything I ordered was a la carte, and it is so much food for one person. The oyster mushrooms were top tier, couldn't tell me I wasn't eating salt n pepper wings! And it was incredibly crispy and seasoned well. The veggies were good and came with a side of rice. I see the rice being a great vehicle to soak up the sauce but not really needed. I ordered online and can't speak to the rest, but I would definitely order again! read more

The picture doesn't do it justice - it's definitely a healthier option it's a lighter sauce on the sesame which I did not mind I actually loved it paired with fluffy delish brown rice - added some of my own spicy Asian garlic sauce. And we got the fried oyster mushroom friend in batter but you tasted the mushroom and it's paired with a side of very spicy peppers you can avoid those if spice isn't your thing also honey mustard was on the side and it definitely paired well! read more

I ordered the cookies & cream soy milkshake, scallion pancakes, beef broccoli + brown rice, and large hot & sour soup - all of which were so delicious and affordable! I love that the dipping sauces for the scallion pancakes were flavorful and spicy too. Delivery was quick and since I live 2 miles away it was free but even 2+ miles it's just a $2 charge which feels a lot more affordable than a lot of delivery apps. I think it's really cool to see Chinese vegetarian fare making a presence in Brooklyn. While I may be a regular carnivore, I can appreciate changing things up from time to time. You can't go wrong with anything on the menu, but my favorite is the "beef" becuase it's the closest in terms of texture. My usual order is a beef dish along with a fried rice if I feel like treating myself (heh) since proteins come with rice anyway. The proteins aren't smothered in sauces like your typical Chinese fare, but I guess that's consistent with the "healthier" approach. Ive ordered delivery and pickup! Food is standard vegetarian Chinese. Staff is always professional and proficient in taking orders. The inside is very clean with an open kitchen concept. I highly recommend ordering takeout from here if your obsessively clean like me! The food is AMAZING - the 1 star is for the delivery guy's total rudeness. He rang the buzzer and I kept buzzing him in but he wouldn't open the door? Just continually buzzed so eventually I was like, ok what the heck? So I go downstairs and said "I tried to buzz you up" and he scoffed, looked at the receipt and said "I'm not going upstairs for 98 cents" (this restaurant has no delivery minimum on Seamless so I just got a soup, hence making the tip automatically small because the soup is cheap).
