We had an errand to run recently so we stopped in at Bangkok Thai Cuisine, which is a place we like a lot. They're at 7159 Philips Highway pretty much right where it meets JTB. We started with their Steamed Pork Dumplings, which we've never had before. I was expecting them to be like a basic shumai type of thing but they were very unique, in a good way. Very flavorful and we tore right through them. I had Pad Thai with pork for my protein. Their sauce has a touch of sweetness to it but it's not overbearing in any way. They give you a good amount of meat with your noodles too, so I feel like it's priced right for what you get. Lauren had the Thai Sweet & Sour, which she's had before but last time she didn't get any spice in it. This time out, she went with their medium spicy level and thought it added a whole dimension she didn't realize was missing last time. For those wondering about their spice level, she told me that she thought I could handle it which means it's not all that spicy. So maybe use that as a guide if you stop in and have a preference for hot or not. We think this was the third time we've stopped in here and we know we've liked it each time we've been. Passing through Jacksonville. Staying overnight on our way to South Carolina. Looking for a dinner spot on a Sunday, on a mostly deserted area. We found this little gem of a Thai restaurant near our hotel. The restaurant is located in a business area. It is small, but the service was great. The food was fresh and delicious. We started with vegetable spring roll. These were crispy, full of veggies and noodles. The Tom Yum Soup with Shrimp, was flavorful and hot. We ordered the Thai sweet and sour chicken, full of veggies and pineapples. Well balance flavors of savory and sweetness. We also ordered the chicken eggplant, full of veggies in a light brown sauce. All served with jasmine rice. The only thing I would improved is the rice, it could be a little firmer for my taste. We left satisfied by a delicious meal in a small shopping center, surrounded by a Starbucks, and a Whataburger. When in Jax this little gem is a must. read more

Great find, adding it to my lunch rotation. My son and I wanted good Thai food (it was his day off) so we drove here the 10 minutes from my office. I must have driven by it 100 times, but never noticed it. Well I notice it now. Service was outstanding as soon as we waked I the door. The dining room is small, more intimate, and clean as can be, but for me, having a happy waitress who seemed excited for us to be there, made a huge difference in our dining experience. But you really want to hear about the food: Sweet chili sauce - homemade, delightful. Spring rolls - tightly wrapped, very tasty. Pad Thai - AMAZING, served with peanut sauce and completely delicious. Massaman Curry - served with chicken, really well done dish. Was there a complaint, well for lunch it was a bit pricey. Got 5 lunch entrees - it was just meh. Ordered 3 of the 5 dishes "Thai hot" but only one (the pad Thai of all things) had any kind of flavor or spice at all. Even my 10 year old daughter, who likes spice but not super hot like we do, said hers had zero flavor (she ordered hers medium for reference). It tasted like plain rice. Pretty disappointed with the lack of spice in all the dishes, but the staff was friendly and portions are decent for the price. This was our second time giving them a try but unfortunately we won't be back. When I say I want it hot, I at least want something beyond what I would call "mild" fried rice at best. read more

So we asked our server if she could make it with less sugar in it. She knew exactly what we needed because she too likes it less sugary. It was the best Thai tea that we've had! She offered to make one for us so that we could taste it and then decide as to whether or not we wanted it. Service here reminded us of our time in Okinawa. I've dined at a few other spots locally, all of which are either overpriced, small portioned, or have some weird spin on Thai basil stir fry. Not here. I am super happy that this place opened up near my house because we needed a good Thai option. I would recommend coming here for lunch because they have great specials that come with a spring roll. I've been three times now and the food is consistently good. I've had massaman curry, basil fried rice, and drunken noodles. Had a chance to try Bancock Thai a small quaint place with limited seating ordered the beef pad prik which was tasty but the beef was a little dry and tough we also tryed the chicken fried rice which was plentiful and tasty and lastly had to try the traditional pad thai and lets not forget the pork fried rolls they were good and seasoned well overall good but nothing stood out. read more

The basil rolls were pretty good, I had the veggie ones. But the pad Thai was beyond, beyond disgusting. I was excited to find a new Thai place near my office when I can pick up some dinner before heading home. I saw Bangkok Thai online and decided to place an order. I ordered the crab rangoon and the Bangkok pad Thai. The crab rangoon were fantastic! You can taste the crab in it without it being fishy or overpowering and there is a nice amount of curry for some added flavor which I appreciate! The pad Thai was very good. I ordered it without a couple things and a medium spice level. It was made perfectly! The spice was great. Not too hot, not super mild and the leftovers had a bit more flavor the next day. Very good. My only critique would be the chicken. It was a pressed and formed chicken on top. I would have preferred a grilled chicken but it was okay. Just didn't really match up with the flavor and texture of the noodles. There was a pleasant surprise in a peanut sauce that came with the pad Thai on the side. It was good and I ended up just dipping the chicken into that and eating it on its own. The restaurant is very cute inside the and the service was good. I would absolutely return! read more

The whole meal was honestly perfect and full of flavor. No lack of umami, like a previous reviewer mentioned, so maybe they worked out some kinks.
