We were told we would have a table that sat 12 but ended up in a long bench seat that was very bad in terms of trying to have conversations - the bench seat had chairs on one side and a velour bench on the other...the velour bench was terribly uncomfortable...trying to 'scoot in/out' was a very arduous task. Seafood tower was good. Rib Eye steak was average at best - very salt about 1/2 inch thin. The place was jammed and must do things right, more times that wrong, but I'm hard pressed to go back.

Tried the cassoulet which I've heard of before but never seen on a menu. It was very hearty but also a but bland. Pulled pork and pork belly seemed to have zero salt. Duck leg confit also very bland. It was cooked well but just bland. The dishes with citrus were quite tasty. Beets and arugala salad very good, good quality goat cheese. Alligator chorizo grilled oysters surprisingly good. Never had alligator chorizo before but it was crispy and not fatty even though it resembled bacon visually. The oysters were small, even more small in comparison to the chorizo but it was a good bite. I would recommend skipping the clam chowder, french onion soup (not really caramelized onions to be honest), and the cassoulet unless you feel empowered to salt your own food. The clientele was definitely in the 60+ range. Nothing wrong with that obviously but tastes change with age and maybe thats why the seasoning was so light. Today there were just two wait staff for the whole place. Seemed understaffed and it took almost thirty minutes for food to come out. Waiting for the check took about fifteen minutes. Staff was nice but definitely overloaded. Today was a holiday though.

We had a reservation for a celebratory dinner, and I commented to ask if the special would still be on for that date. The chef/owner responded immediately that it would. Knowing specials often run out quickly, I called on the morning of the reservation, and a hostess said, yes, the special was still on. So we got there, we ordered, and we asked for the special -- the waitress said she'd confirm, and then came back and just said 'no, it was just for that day,' which was confusing. I explained that the chef and the hostess had confirmed that it was still on the menu and asked if it had run out -- again, understandable -- and she said it 'was just something we made for an influencer.' At that point, I didn't want to press the two 'no' answers, so we finished the dinner and moved on. I reached out privately after the fact as I wanted to see if there was a better way I could have communicated to the restaurant or asked for clarification, and asked if there was a better way to confirm information moving forward, and they never responded. Both of us enjoyed the meals--the scallops were grilled to perfection, the spinach steamed and hot, and the risotto creamy and tasty. Parking can be a little tricky as it is shared with a number of stores in a strip mall, but you may just have to walk a little bit. Burlington has a few good choices for dinner but you can never miss with Seasons 52.

I ordered it medium but was instead served almost rare. Nick asked me to cut into it and he himself said that it was somewhat rare so he took it back. Someone else brought the same steak back a few minutes later and parts were overcooked and parts were still medium rare. I also noticed that the table next to me sent one of their steaks back and also leaving it on their plates after it was brought back. For dessert, I had the coconut creme cake that was really good. The bartender was ok about and said it may have looked a little darker than normal , he got us another one and when that one came out, it looked better, but now there were only 3, as if we ate 1 and enjoyed it and then sent it back - not the case. When we went to go eat the second round of the shrimp had its shell still on it under the batter, we were both pulling shells out of our mouth at the bar, it was gross. We did tell the other bar tender and she apologized and took it off the bill. I just don't understand for the price people pay for this food, why the kitchen can't get it right. The shrimp should never have left the kitchen that way, and as a customer we should not have had to complain about it twice. We love going out and frequent local restaurants like Moo, and Eddie V's and we never run into this. Our server was happy to return it to the kitchen and it came out after not too much time had elapsed, the way she'd ordered it. I'm always skeptical that ribs will be fall-off-the-bone but these were close. Unfortunately, they seemed a little off; I still can't decide if they were on the dry side, lacking in flavor, or both. But the meat did come off the bone easily, so there was that. They came with french fries which were good, The location is handy and there is on-site parking. The atmosphere was energetic and it must be a popular after-work place because there were several large (10+) tables occupied. When brought to the table there was no description of what the ingredients/flavors were in each - which is customary to share/explain so you know what you're drinking. The server didn't know, but did bring the answers back a little while later...thank you! They were out of one of the first course items on a two-course prix fixe menu (which unfortunately 3 of the four in our party had originally selected). For the second choice/back-up course (avocado toast) it was not accompanied by smoked salmon as stated on the menu but instead shrimp and cucumbers had been added - with no heads up from the server that they were also out of the smoked salmon....the dishes were brought to the table with no explanation or apologies whatsoever. In a very odd twist that I haven't experienced before, our original server said they were leaving for the day during the midst of our service and a new server worked with our table for the balance of the meal. The second course meals were fine - the steak in the steak eggs was delicious per the two people in our party who ordered that dish; the egg dishes the remaining two of us had were ok, nothing to write home about. Sitting at our table we witnessed the table next to us experience the same issues we had...and a friend of theirs swung by their table and shared even more egregious examples like never receiving their drinks at all, among others. As another reviewer wrote about their experience today, it was shocking that nothing was comped off of a $250 bill, discounted, or some future offer made to make up for our utterly unacceptable experience - never mind that we were there for 2.5+ hours! We are grateful to have restaurants like Tryst in Arlington but we will not return (we have dined there many times for special occasions over the years) and will no longer recommend it to friends either (which I have also done many times).
