The green cameos on the front halls wallpaper were fuzzy!! The bathrooms were also a freaking delight. Great wall paper everywhere. The dining room was very beautiful with high back chairs and a fire place. They also offered dining on the porch which was really beautiful too - the inn is not secluded by any means, but there wasn't an overbearing amount of traffic, so the porch would probably be lovely. We ate inside though. My husband tried to go light and healthy with claim chowder and the seasonal vegetable. He also got an espresso. I just went ahead and got the burger with the salad. The burger came with homemade pickles which were pretty tasty. The salad had green tomatoes which were very interesting. All around I had a great meal. They also have an excellent selection of cocktails. I had a hard time choosing. but I ended up with the Rose Gold which featured some awesome rose gin. I love anything that tastes floral and this made me super happy. Also, plus points for the paper straw! Our waitress was also excellent and had a really warm persona. AND they were playing all my late 60's early 70's jams. I had a super pleasant time even if we didn't get the breakfast we were hoping for. The restaurant is walking distance from the historical sites downtown and great for a special experience or treat. Would love to see the rest of the inn some day.

Town Meeting Bistro is a beautiful space in lovely historic Lexington. This brunch had three seatings. We arrived a few minutes early for the second seating (at 12) to a long line and a 20 minute wait to be seated. Our table was lovely. The brunch included a buffet appetizer/dessert component and a plated entrée from their menu. The buffet portion was extremely disappointing, they advertised a decadent spread, including oysters, etc., but it was a very modest assortment of things (no oysters, a bowl of cocktail shrimp that was empty most of the time). I waited 10 minutes for them to refill empty bagel baskets (and asked a server) before giving up. The desserts were not impressive, fruit bowl was smaller than what I serve at family gatherings. But most notably, there was a constant very long line at the buffet and most items were continuously empty (even buffet plates were unavailable twice). There was no children's menu despite it obviously being an event that catered to families with children. There was an advertised bouquet activity for children, but by the second seating, the flowers were very picked over and the bouquet apparently only allowed for "three stems". Brunch did come with a mimosa, which was nice, but service was very slow (no fault of the server, just the chaotic and presumably understaffed set up). There were issues with two of the dishes that we ordered (one was the wrong omelette, another was the wrong dish altogether). None of this would have been bad review worthy, except that the price per person was $130! For that I expected much better quality, variety, set up and overall experience. They did acknowledge the mistakes with the entrées and comped a cocktail so I appreciated that, but definitely will not return (and am embarrassed that I was the one who picked this option for this special family event as no one left feeling good about it).

Never had alligator chorizo before but it was crispy and not fatty even though it resembled bacon visually. The oysters were small, even more small in comparison to the chorizo but it was a good bite. I would recommend skipping the clam chowder, french onion soup (not really caramelized onions to be honest), and the cassoulet unless you feel empowered to salt your own food. The clientele was definitely in the 60+ range. Nothing wrong with that obviously but tastes change with age and maybe thats why the seasoning was so light. Today there were just two wait staff for the whole place. Seemed understaffed and it took almost thirty minutes for food to come out. Waiting for the check took about fifteen minutes. Staff was nice but definitely overloaded. Today was a holiday though.

I ordered it medium but was instead served almost rare. Nick asked me to cut into it and he himself said that it was somewhat rare so he took it back. Someone else brought the same steak back a few minutes later and parts were overcooked and parts were still medium rare. I also noticed that the table next to me sent one of their steaks back and also leaving it on their plates after it was brought back. For dessert, I had the coconut creme cake that was really good. I'm unlikely to go back to this restaurant even with a $55 promotion before taxes and tip. I guess that I should feel lucky that is all I paid.

But the meat did come off the bone easily, so there was that. They came with french fries which were good, The location is handy and there is on-site parking. The atmosphere was energetic and it must be a popular after-work place because there were several large (10+) tables occupied. I reserved a "low table" due to the fact that I have two young children (I've included a screenshot of my reservation). When we arrived, we were promptly seated - at a high top table. I advised the hostess that we had reserved a low table; she indicated she could change our table, but that we would have to wait. This despite the fact that the restaurant was 90% empty. Fine. We stayed at the high top table - which, in addition to being elevated, had the disadvantage of being very small. Not a great fit, in short, for young kids. After a surprisingly long time, we finally ordered. Tryst was offering a 2-course prix fixe Mother's Day brunch menu; my wife and I ordered from this menu, while the kids ordered from the children's menu. We asked the waiter if my daughter could have a fruit bowl; he said 'sure, would strawberries and blueberries be ok.' Yes, indeed they would. At 10:50, the kids' meals and my first course were brought to the table - including a small bowl of just blueberries for my daughter (not a single strawberry). Nothing for my wife - a.k.a. "mom," the honoree of today's festivities. At 10:55, I asked the waiter when my wife's food would arrive. He said it was on its way. At 11:03 - nearly 15 minutes after everyone else had been served - my wife's first course - avocado toast w/ salmon - finally arrived. At 11:04, the 2nd courses were also served. Now we're stuck on a very small high top table with all our courses (since I had refrained from eating my first course while waiting for my wife's to be served), all at once. I asked to speak to a manager. After 5-10 minutes, he came out. I noted how we had been seated at the wrong type of table, how my daughter had been offered (!) a fruit cup with blueberries and strawberries but received only the former and - most importantly - how my wife's main course was now cold before she even had a chance to start it. He apologized, had some strawberries brought out and offered to bring out a new main course for my wife. We declined. Why? Well, because our two young children had finished eating 20 minutes earlier, and certainly wouldn't have the patience to wait another who-knows-how-long for another main course to be brought out (I remind you: it's is now ~ 11:15 and we have now been at the restaurant for a full hour). My wife also had no desire to be the only one eating at the table. The manager indicated he would remedy the situation otherwise - but no other remedy was offered or received (so: no comps, no discount, nothing). To be clear: I would never have complained - never mind bothered to write a review! - if it was simply a matter of the wrong table and strawberry-less fruit cups. I mention these only because they're both examples of the same unforced error: setting an expectation that Tryst then fails to meet. I would, however, normally have given them a pass on this; after all, we all have bad days. What I can't pass over, however, is that, through sheer incompetence, my wife was effectively asked to dine alone, on Mother's Day - something anathema to the whole idea of a Mother's Day Brunch - and neither the staff nor the manager seemed to consider this a real problem. Whence this review. My wife and I have been patronizing Tryst for, I think, more than 10 years. We will not be going back.

A location in an quiet residential part of Watertown? Now, it's really just a take-out/delivery spot. The restaurant is located in the back of the Armenian Cultural and Educational Center, where they have an industrial kitchen. There is limited signage. Basically, you go to the back of the building, where it is unfinished and basically a dirt plot. The backdoor is open where you can pick up your order if you elect to do takeout. I only saw one person working (a nice middle-aged lady). Unfortunately, some delivery person took my order so I had to wait around for the restaurant to fulfill the order. Otherwise, the food was terrific. The braised beef wrap was fresh and flavorful. The fattoush and Armenian salads were very fresh and were great accompaniments. In their hurry to fulfill the order, the restaurant missed one of the wraps. But they offered to refund us for the missing wrap, so it was fine. If you are hankering for some Anoush'ella, but are in the suburbs, you now don't have to go into Boston or Cambridge anymore. Just go to a non-descript back of a cultural center (or better, just get it delivered).
