    Chicken Shawarma Plate
    Jen R.

So I've been meaning to check this place out, and I'm really glad I finally did. It's a no frills Middle Eastern spot with both dine-in and takeout options. If you eat in, you place your order at the counter, they bring it to your table, and when you're done, you clear your dishes simple and easy. I ordered the Chicken Shawarma Plate, and it was absolutely delicious. The chicken was perfectly cooked and seasoned, and it came with a fresh salad, leafy greens, tomatoes, cucumbers, onions, a bit of cheese, all lightly dressed with olive oil and a touch of sumac. The house made hummus was creamy, and the warm pita was perfect . And the garlic white sauce? So good I should have asked for more. I couldn't finish it all in one go , but I brought the rest home and it was just as tasty for dinner. Parking is either on the street or possibly in the shared lot behind Breathe Yoga. I've tried a lot of places like this, but this one was a nice surprise. I'll definitely be back and if you haven't tried it yet, you should.

I ordered takeout and it was ready really quickly! Very simple and cozy inside, I'd like to eat in next visit. I ordered the combo platter, the salad was phenomenal! Very fresh and seasoned so well. I was disappointed that it came with tahini sauce and will sub for tzatziki next time. That and the pita was quite small for being such a large amount of food, would've liked more.

We found this place from other good reviews on Yelp. The place was small, cozy and clean. There was seating available and not crowded. Parking was on the street. We went to the front to order Gyro pita stuffed with lamb/beef, tomatoes, lettuce and tahini sauce. Very moist and tasty.

I've heard great things about this restaurant and saw the high reviews. I was in the area so I went in for lunch. Upon walking in, I immediately felt the hot air, it was about 82° out and the air conditioning wasn't on. With the semi-open kitchen, although not unbearable, it was not a pleasant feeling inside. The table and chairs we sat in were sticky, felt like oil buildup. The food had a nice presentation and was good, I'd give my plate an 7.8/10. On the other hand, one of my friends ordered a salad with some meat on top. After receiving her food, she went up to the counter and told the server that she would like more salad dressing. The server told her that extra dressing costs an additional $2, which is fine. What was not fine was the attitude she gave my friend. My friend had explained to her that it seems like there was almost no dressing on her salad, and without even looking at the food, she quickly dismissed my friend and told her "no they put dressing on all the salads." So that didn't leave a good taste in our mouth. TLDR - Decent food, subpar ambiance and service. Very disappointing since I had high expectations.

We ordered the chicken shawarma pita here to go. We were pleasantly surprised that it was delicious. Chicken breast was juicy and vegetables were all fresh. We don't have a ton of places in our area that serve shawarma. They make their own pitas as well. You can order up to 5 on the side. Ordering experience was easy and prices are excellent. We will definitely be going back here in the future.

Food was good! Still like Cedar better though. Could have had a little more flavor. Would go back I liked it better than Levantine.

This is a very nice place to come and eat outside on the deck overlooking the Erie Canal. Had a great atmosphere. There was some live music playing in the common area along the canal, which I got to listen to. The view was nice. Staff was quick and friendly. The food was pretty good. I thought the hummus was very good. The falafel was just OK. But the Mediterranean salad was delicious. They're dressing was excellent. Could've used a few more olives other than that no complaints. I didn't get any of the dessert, but it looked awesome. Maybe next time. I strongly recommend coming here if your looking for some outdoor seating on a nice summer day.

I have mixed feelings about Aladdin's Natural Eatery in Schoen Place (Pittsford)…read more Pros: Vegan options exist. Outside seating by the canal is nice when the weather cooperates. Our server was reasonably friendly and efficient. Cons: They make it difficult to wait for a table. Pita bread is low quality. Chili was disappointing. They were out of falafel when we last visited. The setting is the best thing going for this place. Our table was outside near the canal, the weather was warm, and sitting by the water was quite pleasant. The problem is that the restaurant doesn't make it easy to wait for a table. They won't serve you a drink while you wait, and they won't call or text you when your table opens up, so you can't slip next door to the bar for a drink without risking your spot. The vegan options are limited but real. The veggie combo plate lets you pick either three or four items from falafel, hummus, baba ganoush, tourlu, sautéed spinach, and tabulee, and there's also a falafel pita pocket. I've sampled all these items before, and they all taste good, but most of it isn't very filling. The falafel is the exception, which made it a problem that they were out of it the last time I visited. We didn't find out until well after we'd ordered. Four of us at a table of six had ordered items with falafel, so we had to scramble for replacements. It seems unusual for a Middle Eastern restaurant to run out of falafel. The pita bread is a real letdown. It comes from a commercial bakery, and it's so soft that it doesn't have the firmness to scoop up hummus or baba. It also just doesn't taste very good. A restaurant like this should really be baking its own. I ordered a bowl of chili along with my combo plate. The chili arrived a few minutes after the combo (I was hoping it would come out first), and it was disappointing. It was very liquidy without many kidney beans, the portion was small for a bowl, and the flavor was mediocre at best. Our server was friendly and attentive, though he didn't know whether the tahini sauce was vegan. It turned out not to matter, since the tahini was meant to accompany the falafel we never got. I left somewhat disappointed and still hungry.

!!!!CASH OR CHECK ONLY (no joke and they have an ATM inside)!!…read more So we finally got to check this spot out in Pittsford on Schoen Place. I'll be honest, we completely missed it at first (our fault!), but it's actually across from Label 7 or Level 7 or whatever it's called. The restaurant offers both indoor seating and snd area for outdoor dining during warmer weather. It's a smaller space but has a nice, casual feel, with Greek-inspired photos and decor on the walls. They seem to do a steady mix of dine in and takeout. We arrived around 5:15 PM on a Saturday, and it quickly filled up. Service was good, though it appeared to be just the owner and one other person running tue front of house they were definitely hustling. The menu is fairly extensive, though I'm not sure how many vegetarian options are available. We started with the fried calamari, which came with lemon and a dipping sauce (possibly garlic). It was good, though not standout. For my entrée, I ordered a platter with gyro meat and chicken, served with rice, tzatziki, and salad. The flavors were solid, but the rice was unfortunately lukewarm. I asked for extra tzatziki, which came in handy because my husband's gyro sandwich didn't include any, something that surprised us. Thankfully, I had enough to share. He did enjoy his meal overall and said the fries (ordered on the side) were tasty, though $6 for a side of fries felt a bit steep. Whatever I also had a glass of Greek white wine, which I enjoyed. Their wine and beer selection is small but decent. Overall, the food was good and the atmosphere welcoming. Just a heads-up: it's cash only, and because of the limited space, it's probably a good idea to call ahead if you're going with a group. Parking is shared in the area. I'd come back.

Putting in a couple appetizers, we opted in for the kibbeh, baba ghanouj, and manakeesh (za'atar w. cheese). The kibbeh was seasoned and fried perfectly. The baba ghanouj was creamy and accompanied with a very nice and airy pita bread, and the manakeesh was wonderful. It reminded me of a sauceless cheese pizza with the middle eastern spices. For mains, we opted in for the Mashawi which included a trio of meats. Kofta, beef kabob and chicken. All three meats were nicely seasoned, but the star meat for us was the kofta. The side of hummus was nice, and the salad was nicely seasoned even before pouring the dressing over it. Also opting in for the lamb chops, I found these to be perfectly grilled and incredibly tender. These were grilled closer to a medium-well, but still remained juicy and packed full of flavor. We found our server and the kitchen employee (perhaps the owner) to be pleasant and full of hospitality. This small-from-the-outside restaurant blew us away and we enjoyed everything we had. We look forward to returning in the near future to try other items on their menu.
