I really enjoyed our visit. We came on a Wednesday evening for their free wine tasting, and enjoyed it so much I think we will keep coming back on Wednesdays. Tastings are 6-8pm. The staff was very friendly and extremely knowledgeable about wine. The area for the tasting seems crowded into a small area, so you don't have much elbow room while listening to the presenter. My only reason for not giving 5 stars is that they didn't have a large selection of by-the-glass wines available compared to other wine bars we go to, and I saw a few tables with cheese and bread plates but didn't see any information on ordering one for us. They did have both indoor and outdoor seating available, but all the tables were full, so we sat at the bar. Prices were what we typically expect in a wine bar. I believe the total for 5 glasses with tip was around $54.

Faubourg wines New Orleans. Great new wine shop wine bar. Stop in and have a glass of vino.

Perfect new business for the bywater. Wine, cheese, meats and liqour selections. Also try the New Orleans Rum ginger ale with rum added called Gingeroo. Then owner was a great resource for finding new wines. Me and my wife will be regulars here.

Faubourg Wines just opened last week, on Thanksgiving Day. I'd been hearing great things about the place so I decided to attend the first of their weekly wine tastings. When I walked through the door I was instantly reminded of Sip, an awesome wine shop that used to be on Magazine Street in the Irish Channel. Anyone remember it? I freakin' loved that place! I could walk there, it was super neighborhoody, trendy, fun and laid back. Anyway, after tasting a few AMAZING wines, I struck up a conversation with the two (fabulous) ladies behind the counter. It was then I discovered they in fact used to run Sip and it was part of the inspiration behind the Faubourg Wines concept. Needless to say I am thrilled. If this place lives up to Sip (and I'm sure it will) I'll be a regular. So stoked to have Faubourg Wines in the neighborhood. Here's why I think this place is going to be great: 1. Excellent wine selection 2. Friendly staff 3. Inside seating big enough for groups 4. Sidewalk seating 5. They will soon have cheeses/snacks 6. They seemingly have their shit together (unlike other wine shops in the neighborhood) As for now the only thing they *need* is art on the walls. Our neighborhood is filled with artists so I'm sure that'll happen soon. Can't think of anything else at the moment but I look forward to adding more details to my review.

This is a great place to satiate your wine fix. Fans and I came here for wine tasting Wednesday. I've never been here before, but as usually for the hidden Marigny spots, it was a great surprise. Other than my bestie smokey the bear (whom I tamed - see pics) there is an abundance of goodies to enjoy here. You can bring your kids here and your pets so no excuses to not stop by. There are two window seating areas (one with a chess board) and more seating in the back- We didn't partake in the cheese plate but it did look pretty good (if that's your kind of thing). The staff isn't pushy and the customers are all smiles. I give this place two thumbs way way up there.

Wonderful neighborhood spot! Kids welcome, and totally unpretentious in spite of the impressive wine knowledge of the owner.

Whether sitting at the bar, or in one of the many lounge chairs on the opposite wall, every seat is an excellent. While I knew of the drink French 75, on the bar menu it was offered with either gin or cognac. I decided to try the cognac and so glad I did. Perfectly delicious! It turns out that drink is actually a French 125, so I learned something new that night. Great spot with a great vibe.

While the Sazerac wasn't invented here, this is arguably its most iconic home, a place where New Orleans cocktail history comes to life. I would use this version as your gold standard when dining out in New Orleans and looking for a perfect Sazerac. We enjoyed watching bartender Rachel craft each drink. Rye whiskey, Peychaud's Bitters, and sugar are stirred in a small pitcher with ice. The serving glass is chilled, then emptied, and finished with an absinthe rinse along the rim. The cocktail is strained into the glass and topped with a lemon peel. The atmosphere makes the experience even better. The murals, the history, and the energy of the room give it a sense of occasion that you do not get at most bars. We had such a great time sitting at the bar that my wife and I each finished two and a half Sazeracs, which tells you everything you need to know.

What a change in atmosphere; groovy music & mumbly conversations to pure quietness and hearing everybody's voices. It was still a great experience. After about 15 minutes indoors with no a/c (IYKYK), the New Orleans heat caused us to head to the outdoor beer garden. It had rained a little bit, so it was a little cooler. FORTUNATELY, beer was still able to be poured, and the power was back on by the time the second beer was half gone. Aside from all that excitement, the focus is on the tasty beer created here. The two beers I had were great: Malcolm in the Mittlefruh and Helles Knows I'm Miserable Now (which I'm positive Morrissey would love - or would he just cry in it?). Kudos to the clever people that come up with the names! There is also a kitchen, but a belly still full from lunch, and no power meant no orders from us. Next time!

This brewery is right on Decatur with a couple of tables in front good for watching the traffic coming through. There's also a patio in the back with plenty more seating options. I, of course, had to have an IPA and I got in as a 0.5L (closest to a pint). The flavor was good with a good hoppy taste to it. This is a great place to chill with friends and enjoy some nice beers. We started with the bottomless mimosas, which were only $25 and absolutely worth it. For appetizers, we ordered the corn and crawfish bisque and the Louisiana crawfish beignets. For my entrée, I had the steak and eggs and substituted the sunny-side-up eggs for scrambled eggs. Everything was delicious, and the steak was cooked just right. The atmosphere was fantastic as well. The music kept the vibes going the entire time, and they definitely know how to do brunch. Even the bathroom was stunning! I ordered the Cubano sandwhich, crawfish beignets, and regular beignets. Everything was so good! The sandwhich came with fries as part of the order and they were crispy to perfection. The crawfish beignets are more like hush puppies though so keep that in mind! The regular beignets had a good flasky crust to them and were so pillowy.
