$14.99 prime rib and lobster promotion available on Thursday and Friday between 4pm and 10pm
    Chris W.

I decided to travel here exclusively for their $14.99 prime rib and lobster tail deal that they offer on Thursdays and Fridays between 4pm and 10pm. They have been aggressively promoting this deal on the radio as well as on bus stop advertisements around my work area. I did a little research beforehand and apparently the casino had been struggling since the management change in January 2018 (this same deal was $19.99 in 2017 according to old photos from trip advisor) so I'm guessing this promotion is meant to get more people to visit the newly renovated casino. Thinking that it would be a long wait just like any other casino buffet, I'd plan to arrive fairly early at 5pm to avoid a long line, however at 5:20pm (on a Thursday) there was no line up at all and I was seated and food was served with in 15 minutes of entering the restaurant. It was probably at 50% capacity and even as we left around 6:15pm there was still no one in line and still fairly empty. Everyone in there was ordering the special so it seems the kitchen was just firing those off to order to turnover customers super quickly. \ My server was very friendly and attentive and even one of the managers came around to ask how our food was so service was pretty great here. The food on the other hand was not very impressive. Although it was a large plate of food, everything was cooked and seasoned inconsistently. The best item by far was the prime rib, I asked for medium well but it was cooked between rare (red spots) and medium, it was served with a Dixie cup of horseradish and some pan jus, even being cooked at various donenesses, I was happy with how it tasted and it was a large piece of meat. The vegetables consisted of a small grilled tomato, a handful of sautéed green beans and zucchini and a scoop of mashed potatoes. The tomato was about the size of lime and topped with breadcrumbs and was a good addition of acidity to the plate. The green beans were crunchy and undercooked but I have read from other reviews that they were the best part of the meal, for us they were not. The mashed potatoes were chunky in texture which is a step up from instant, seasoned well that gravy wasn't necessary, but still an average side. The lobster tails were underwhelming and the worst part of the meal by far. They were small and obviously from frozen because the meat did not release from the shells, this made the incredibly hard to eat which led to half of our meal spent trying to scrape the meat from the shells. We also both commented that they were very salty. Overall, the meal was ok especially at this price point, but I would be very disappointed at the non-members price of $27.99. I was happy to have tried it but I'm not very likely to return for this promotion.

The serving area, the tables, and even the bathrooms are pristine. The food quality and variety is great. They offer all the normal stuff you see at a Chinese buffet plus extras like Maple flavored meatballs and wings. The sushi section is a little smaller than others but gets the job done. The desert section is incredible and you will want seconds. Try the maple ice cream! Was provided a hot lemon infused cloth to clean up prior to going up to the stations to eat. Cup never emptied without an ask for refill. Very attentive the entire time. We were sat in the 'C' dining area area. There were room upon room so there's plenty of seating. Each room with a slightly different theme. Ours had a wall of beautiful fish tanks. The dining area, food stations and bathrooms were all very clean, which is so important at a buffet. They even have gloves at the end of each station in case you didn't want to touch the serving utensils with your bare hands. The variety of food goes from everything you can imagine at a Chinese buffet like sushi and fried rice to American options like burgers and fries, to surprises in-between like New England clam chowder and prime rib. Tons of dessert- hard ice cream, cakes, pies, fruit, jello, even Crème brûlée and waffles. One of my favorite surprises was the variety of mocktails. Most places offer me pop as a mocktail or a Shirley Temple at best. Decent pricing. Father's Day special dinner menu was $50/pp (Canadian) about $36/pp (American) which is pretty great for all you get and that's WITH their high tax. I believe the refular pricing is about $10/pp less. A must try only 30 minutes from Western NY.

Service was attentive in the dining rooms and friendly by the hostess station. Lunch had enough items to be happy with, but it seemed like they altered the BBQ/Grill station to breakfast foods, like bacon and fried eggs and had a few empty slots where I remember had items previously. Highs: -Black peppered beef cubes very very tender and flavourful - fried noodles on point - tofu pudding dessert had a gingered sugar syrup to drizzle on top Lows: -peking duck seemed more hard instead of crispy skin - fried egg Left the restaurant very stuffed, kids were happy. Upon entering the restaurant I was greeted to a very clean and modern ambience that reminded me kind of like some of the big buffets in Las Vegas. Very cool setup where they have 3 self serve fountain drinks which is included in your buffet price. In the middle they have a grilling area where they are grilling Basa fish, salmon, chicken, sirloin steak. The steak was amazing they put this butter, garlic garnish on top that makes it so delicious. I had 8 of these steaks this evening! They also had a stir fry, soup noodle where you can choose your own ingredients, different vegetables and protein and carbs for them to either turn into a stir fry or soup noodle. They had plenty of ice cream to choose from as well as a soft serve ice cream machine. The service provided by the employees were top notch, so friendly, and helpful. Very pleased with my experience and just to note my visit was on a Friday night so your good selections may be different depending on a weekday or weekend.

The sushi rice was overcooked, and the sushi kept falling apart every time I tried to pick it up. The food prepared at the live cooking station was very watery, and the salmon was dry and lacked flavor. The customer service also did not meet my expectations, which made the overall experience even more disappointing. The chef's cooking felt rushed and, in my opinion, lacked the care and attention I usually hope for when dining out. Even the dessert was a letdown. My 9-year-old commented that the ice cream toppings were disappointing, which was surprising considering how simple that part of the meal should be. To make things even more heartbreaking, this was my birthday. I wasn't expecting a big celebration or for the staff to sing to me, but I had hoped for a small gesture, a simple slice of cake with a candle or even just a sincere "Happy Birthday" from the waitress or a manager. I understand restaurants aren't obligated to do this, but a little hospitality on a special occasion can leave a lasting positive impression. Instead, I left feeling disappointed. I traveled all the way from Scarborough to celebrate here, and unfortunately, it will be my last visit. Positive: Unlimited lemonade Great ice machine. Pizza was "all right"

We had the 5PM menu which included bread & butter, a salad, one of 5 or 6 entrees, and a chocolate mouse on chocolate Oreo base. I had the chicken cordon bleu. Husband had the roast beef. While we waited for each course, the restaurant revolved, giving us views of the three waterfalls and Niagara. On the non- moving ledge were facts about the falls and the city inside plexiglass. I enjoyed reading about the daredevils who went over the falls and the history of the city. Megan and Mary were a fantastic service team. They kept our water glasses full, took away plates as we finished each course - salad, the main course and dessert - and even took our photo. Everything was delicious! When I mentioned it was my birthday, they insisted I take home a birthday cake. They also asked Douglas, the piano man, to play the HAPPY BIRTHDAY song for me. When we got on the elevator for the top of the Skylon, we got off to a view that was breathtaking. I thought the view of Niagara Falls was the perfect end to our perfect dining experience - until we got back to the hotel. At the hotel I opened my birthday cake. It was a cheesecake with whipped cream, blueberries and strawberries. I had to try a bite. IT WAS THE BEST CHEESECAKE I'VE EVER HAD!! And I've had them all in my 55 years of cheesecake buying, trying and making them from scratch. I stuffed myself eating it. It was SO good. We're not sure when we'll be back. This was a bucket list item for me, and I loved every minute of it. But when we do come back, we're eating at the Skylon AND I'm having the cheesecake FIRST! After all, life is short. Eat dessert first.

There very few tables that can accommodate 5-6 adults. We had a booth for 5 and my knees were ready to leave after nearly 2 hours of dining. Food: it was okay for the price. The 8 oz. filet was cooked as I requested and the veggies were fine. Salmon was undercooked as my fellow diner prefers a more fully cooked through filet. Caesar salad lacked flavor as the dressing was bland. Meatballs were dry. Skip the desserts, they're nothing special. If you've had Michelin meals, this is a pretty dinner for mediocre food. Note: there is a MINIMUM $52 CAD per person and each diner is REQUIRED to purchase an entree OR 3 salad/soup/appetizer combo. Views: we had a 6:30 seating and the falls are as beautiful as one might expect. The rotation is slow enough not to feel it, but after dining for nearly 2 hours we made 1.5 roations. Service: the waitstaff were friendly, prompt, and helpful with local tips for places to see and do.

When we had first arrived, we were told that it would be a two-hour wait, and that we would need to have a pager with us at all times that would be used to notify us once a table was ready. We weren't able to get a pager immediately as they were all being used therefore, we had to wait at least fifteen minutes before we were able to get one. Once we had that pager in hand, we waited about one hour for our table, which was actually not as long as we had expected. Upon entering the restaurant via an escalator from the first floor, we were pleased to see how picturesque it was. With the large windows showcasing the horse racing at the time, along with the tables that boasted their own private television screens, we were impressed with how wonderful and inviting everything looked. Upon being seated, we were given programs on the betting available for the evening's races, which was detailed with everything we needed to know. We also noticed that there was a middle-aged woman coming around, asking us if we were interested in placing bets during our dining experience. The diners went wild during the races, which created an exciting, yet sometimes, loud atmosphere. In terms of the dining, I was pleasantly surprised with how many options were available. Since it was only $12.95 (with a Winners Circle Card), I was blown away at how much food was placed within the buffet area, with an area dedicated to bread with a variety of spreads, another area with salads and other cold appetizers (such as artichokes, cold cuts, cheese, etc.), a hot table (with such items as lasagna, pizza, chicken, fish, and more), along with a dessert section, which boasted a wide variety of desserts, and a few dishes of fruit. All of the items were well-prepared, and everything tasted fantastic, with each item at the hot table coming onto my plate hot (temperature-wise), which is rare to find in a buffet. Overall, I really enjoyed my experience at this buffet, and would highly-recommend it to anyone who wants delicious food, at a low price. The only thing that I didn't like was the waiting period, and how slow it was, considering that many guests usually sit there the entire evening, watching the races and eating for hours on end. Although this is definitely the idea of the trackside buffet, it could have been the reason why we were so delayed in getting to our table. Nevertheless, it was worth the wait, and will definitely be going again!
