After dining here tonight I wondered why it's been years since I've visited this location for hot pot. The hot pot dining experience didn't disappoint and had many options. It was $28.99/person plus an addition charge for the soup. The group of us all got the small clear broth. Kids under 4 are free. Happy Lamb Hot Pot is pretty much 90% self serve because majority of the food is located in the main part of the restaurant and it's buffet style. The only meats that are brought out by the cat robot or the server is the beef and the lamb. For the ice cream, you just asked a staff at the front of the restaurant. It's also rare that drinks are included in the price so there is a self-serve drink fountain where the food is located. The only negative I can think of is the broth making me thirsty. I will be back whenever I have a hot pot craving!

    Spicy broth and lamb.

Really cool Mongolian Hotpot spot. Modern and spacious space. Great for large or small parties. Food is abundant and fresh. Staff are very friendly and accommodating. We tried the lamb and beef in the Spicy Broth. Both were delish.

We went there for lunch during their promo. It's 21.99 including broth and drink. We got the original and tomato broth. It tasted amazing although we are pretty thirsty after. The meat quality was good. The selection for lunch is amazing. We were so satisfied and would definitely go back! They have birthday promo if you go there on your birthday. We wish we knew this earlier. The service was prompt and friendly. We also really liked the ambiance. The place was clean and comfortable. It's also kids friendly. Kids 4 and under are free!

    After results yummmm

Great experience every time. Amazing food amazing staff. Came here for my siblings birthday and we had a great time ( there is a discount on birthdays)

You can do 2 big pots or 4 individual pots

Was here for dinner with my boyfriend as we realized all the Mongolian Sheep has rebranded to Happy Lamb so we decided to give it a try. There were no host or hostess. No one seemed to acknowledge your presents as you walked into the restaurant hence creating the illusion that they were a busy restaurant. You had to wave or speak in CHINESE to flag someone and then they didn't even know where to put you. Definitely have to agree with some of the Yelpers' comment on services. VERY SLOW service to the point where it made no sense to me. How can the tables that came after us and have a large party got their food first and we, only have 2 people, got their SOME of their food after asking for it? Also, the staff seemed like they were in Dreamland as they forgot what was asked and just walked away. We ordered something in the first round, asked about it, and still haven't gotten it by the time we were done eating. Seriously, get your sh*t straight and organize your staff better.

Yin Yang Broth (ignore my mess haha)

This was a super fun experience! I was craving hot pot and Happy Lamb delivered. From great service, decor, and food I'd highly recommend. There were robot waiters all over it was so funny! Ordering AYCE is done by checking off boxes in a menu that consists of 3 rounds. We went way too hard and I was super full by the end of round 2. We tried cow tongue, lamb spine, an actual pork belly, very tasty! We ordered a Yin Yang broth, one mild and one spicy. Spicy one had us dying haha! Price wasn't bad either it was around $25 per person!

I typically do not come here and purposely write bad reviews nor do I like to. But this was probably the worst service I've ever received in my life. Starting the the beginning to the end - the service here was not it. They are incredibly rude and give you attitude for just try to eat at their establishments. The seats were stick and the sauce station was horrendous to say the least. The food itself is okay , you can go wrong with frozen stuff to put into boiling soup. But I give this a one star because of the lack of hospitality which was non existent. They would roll their eyes and even threw the plates onto our table. Save your money and go elsewhere!

Come for the food, not the service. This isn't my first time here at this place as their spicy broth is flavorful and numbing. Although the restaurant can seat at least a hundred people, it's usually not that busy here even on the weekends. Despite that, their service is pretty darn slow and inattentive. I came in and stood in plain view while waiting for at least 10 minutes while I saw 3 waiters servicing no more than 10 tables coming in and out of the kitchen. I was not acknowledged in any way until I had to walk up and approach them. The hot pot is AYCE but you do have to pay for the pot containing the broth which comes in a large shareable size or a small individual one. They have a plain, spicy, and tomato broth to choose from but you're able to order a pot with a mix of 2. If you're looking for flavour and heat, I suggest the spicy broth. You're able to order and re-order items for a maximum of 3 rounds. Dessert items have a maximum of 1 round. I suggest ordering the lamb and beef slices as they tend to soak up the broth better than other meats. Other noteworthy items include tofu, king mushroom, watercress, and starched vegetables such as lotus root. I would highly recommend to avoid the house meatballs as they have an odd smell to them that reminds me of an unclean refrigerator.

Noodles, greens and veggie options were good!

Came here using the latest Groupon deal, in a party of three. My family is from Hong Kong, so hotpot during the winter is comfort food for us. We have it at home (or at friends' homes) often during this season. We've had various hotpot experiences dining out, including other Little Sheep locations, and lower & higher quality restaurants too. This particular Little Sheep location falls somewhere in middle of the pack. If it's your FIRST time hotpotting - go with an open mind! It's going to be very different from anything you've had AND everyone does it a little differently. :P Just make sure you mix a good sauce. Again, everyone does it a little differently - but I highly recommend using the one labelled "satay"... it's a classic! ATMOSPHERE: Slick, clean and bright interior. Average noise level. Good spacing between tables. We were there for an early weeknight dinner buffet. So the restaurant wasn't busy when we first arrived. And it being a Monday, it didn't get to full capacity at typical dinner time. There were other patrons - but it wasn't packed. This probably contributed to the better (read: quieter and less rushed vibe) atmosphere than on a Friday or weekend evening. I like that there is an option to choose a shared large pot, or individual small pots. (Induction stove-top is built into the tables - so they'll seat you in a different section according to your table/pot choice) SERVICE: Surprisingly good. I know others have commented on this, but yes, I was still shocking to experience good service. :P All our liquids were topped up regularly (soy milk, plum juice, and soup for the pot). Sauce Station was always stocked in all options as well. Would be better if there were more sauce stations - I only saw one for the whole restaurant. On a busy night, it would cause quite a queue... But otherwise, service was great. Always many servers available to answer your call, and very patient to explain how everything worked for first-time visitors. Most staff speak Mandarin and English fluently, and a few speak Cantonese as well. PRICE: $21.99 per person (extra $1 on weekend & holidays) for our weeknight meal. Drinks are extra. Free refills on plum juice and soy milk only. Broth is extra, ranging from $2.50 to 5. Sauces included. We had a Groupon, which helped. Overall, average cost for such a location, food and service. (Of course comparing to doing it at home - this will seem much more costly! But dining out for hotpot, this is average. And also: NO PREP or CLEAN UP. For those who have hotpot at home - lots of prep & clean up is involved) FOOD: In general, we enjoyed everything we ordered. First came the free side dishes: 2 cold veggie dishes and a plate of hot pork bone (similar to what you find in Korean pork bone soup). That was unexpected (and filling). Greens and veggies were good quality. We ordered multiple portions of watercress and various mushrooms. For carbs, I recommend the hand-pulled/made noodles (wide and flat; chewier in texture), and the spinach noodles (much thinner; texture is similar to soba). The sliced meats were great. We tried the beef, lamb and pork belly. Liked the quail eggs. Most of the seafood we tried were great! Especially the shrimp and mussels. Squid/calamari was a bit small, but texture and flavour was good. Skip the fish. It was very mushy and kind of fell apart as you pick it up to eat, and not much flavour at all. I would pass on the meat/fish balls. I prefer denser/chewier variety... there's was very soft and mushy. Wontons were good - the filling inside was very fresh. My piece had a whole shrimp in it that was pretty good quality. I usually don't eat wonton/dumplings in my hot pot (it's considered a filler in my house) but these were so good we were glad we got them! *** Generally, I'm a fan of dining at home for hotpot, where you can customize and have exactly what you like. BUT if I wanted to introduce someone who's new to this cuisine, I would bring them here for their first experience. - it's not too pretentious an atmosphere, and still has good food options.

This place has very attentive staff and a great overall atmosphere. They also have a large selection of vegetables and meat on their menu, so you have a lot of options to choose from. The robot serving food was pretty cool as well, this is a great place to eat!

I don't know why everyone is hating on this place! My friend took me here the other day, and I must say I absolutely loved it! Service was fast! Almost too fast! Our server was so pleasant and went out of his way to make sure I had a great first experience, even bringing us an assortment of appetizers that we didn't request. The soup was delicious and I left so full and happy. Love that they have an assortment of sauces you can add yourself, and the smell of the entire place was divine! I have no complaints here. I highly recommend you try it out!

Good AYCE option for hotpot. It's a good alternative to HDL if that's getting boring. Long line, but fast service. Kind service.

Was provided a hot lemon infused cloth to clean up prior to going up to the stations to eat. Cup never emptied without an ask for refill. Very attentive the entire time. We were sat in the 'C' dining area area. There were room upon room so there's plenty of seating. Each room with a slightly different theme. Ours had a wall of beautiful fish tanks. The dining area, food stations and bathrooms were all very clean, which is so important at a buffet. They even have gloves at the end of each station in case you didn't want to touch the serving utensils with your bare hands. The variety of food goes from everything you can imagine at a Chinese buffet like sushi and fried rice to American options like burgers and fries, to surprises in-between like New England clam chowder and prime rib. Tons of dessert- hard ice cream, cakes, pies, fruit, jello, even Crème brûlée and waffles. One of my favorite surprises was the variety of mocktails. Most places offer me pop as a mocktail or a Shirley Temple at best. Decent pricing. Father's Day special dinner menu was $50/pp (Canadian) about $36/pp (American) which is pretty great for all you get and that's WITH their high tax. I believe the refular pricing is about $10/pp less. A must try only 30 minutes from Western NY.

They were quite busy with takeout orders which I took as a good sign. We ordered the Beef Sirloin Noodles level spicy and numb(4/5), Breaded Shrimp (5/5) Seafood Fried Rice (4/5) and Lamb Skewers (4/5). Beef Sirloin Noodles were delicious. The broth itself was not overly salty compared to other places we've been to. I enjoyed the addition of peanuts to this dish for that extra crunchy texture and nutty taste. The noodles were cooked perfectly. They were bouncy and chewy. The beef itself was good. Some were a tad bit chewy. I wish there was more bok choy. We'd also opt for extra spicy and extra numb next time. Breaded Shrimp was enjoyable. You can't go wrong with this dish. It was crispy, and the batter to shrimp ratio was decent. Seafood Fried Rice was good as well. Again, we liked how it wasn't overly salty. We were able to sense the taste of the seafood. I wish they added more scallops since we only got two pieces in the whole dish. Lamb Skewers were satisfying flavour-wise. We really liked the seasoning on them. It was on the chewier side but it was manageable. We'd like to try their other skewer options next time. Overall, such a good spot for affordable and delicious food. I'm glad my family recommended this place. I'd like to point out that a customer was being problematically entitled and rude yet the female server stayed professional. I thought she handled the situation quite calmly which I wanna commend her for. P.S. The restaurant has a sign on their door saying not to bring pets inside. See their website: https://www.congeequeen.com/menu.php and select your location. It has been a while since we have eaten at the Congee Queen outside of the Toronto (Dundas/Yonge) location, so we were a bit surprised at the price difference (8-10% difference). This location (Heartland Town Center) feels like it has the right price for the menu. With cash, you also get a 10% discount. We were here on a Wednesday for an early dinner around 15:30 - 17:00 and it was about medium full for the main area. People were coming and going at a good pace. For our group of four, we ordered: - B3 Salmon Congee $11 ($12 downtown) - H11 Chicken Salted Fish Fried Rice $18.25 ($19.75 downtown) - K34 Fried Bean Curd with Veggie $19.50 ($21.50 downtown) - K42 Salt and Pepper Squid $16.50 ($18.25 downtown) - K53 Fried Chili Turnip Cakes $13.75 ($15.00 downtown) Service was a bit slow, but not the longest as there were only 2-3 staff taking orders that day for about 15-20 tables. As usual, the fried rice and congee is what they are known for, it was excellent as usual. Depending on the group you go with, YMMV, but for our order combination, this usually works comes out at the same time and everything is hot and tasty. The turnip cakes are the softer type and they even accommodated checking for shrimp. They are usually good about seafood checks. All in all, great experience. With the discount and tips all in, it was less than $100 total at $25 per person. It has been a while since we've eaten out with a group at that price point. This location is on the small side and the seating is quite limited. That said, whenever we come here Sunday afternoons, we never have trouble getting tables during walk-ins. The staff is always attentive and we never have to wait for much long for the food to come. They always ask you if you want water or tea. Usually also get a bowl of seaweed soup with your order (per person) though this time around we didn't get any. We ordered a lot for dinner. For appetizers, we ordered the braised pork pan-fried buns, which were amazing. The bun was really fluffy, and the filling was flavourful and just the right amount of juicy. We also had chive pork dumplings. These were also good, though I admit I prefer the pan-fried ones. In particular, our dumplings came out kind of gummy. We had some scallion pancakes which were nice and crispy, and very flavourful. Then, some dried beancurd sticks that were just the right amount of spiciness. Do keep in mind the beancurd sticks are cold (it surprised me the first time I had it). Finally, we had some honey garlic chicken wings. They fry their chicken wings really well, and they don't overdo the sauce which is great. We did have trouble fitting all of this on the table since we ordered so much. We managed, but just keep this in mind if you like to order a lot of appetizers. We each ordered a main. My boyfriend had the lemongrass chicken with egg on rice, which he enjoyed. I also enjoyed my Taiwanese braised pork. My pork dish was amazing and they cooked the egg really well. I was missing my time in Taiwan so I ordered the Taiwanese Braised Pork and Egg on rice. We also ordered Pumpkin Pie with Red Bean Filling, stir-fried rice noodles with bean sprouts, Juicy Chinese Pork Burger, and their Juicy Cheese Beef Burger. Everything was quite good especially the Chinese Pork Burger. The outer shell was so crispy and the pork meat was so juicy and was seasoned just right. The Taiwanese Braised Pork rice was good but definitely not as good as in Taiwan lol. Also, if coming here, you have to try their signature pan fried buns. That is what they are known for. We didn't order it this time because we've had it a bunch of times already. Overall, this restaurant always hits. By the time you add the extras, the bill is easily another $50 or more, bringing the total to well over $120. We decided to pass, and judging from the dishes we did order, that was probably the right decision. The hot and sour soup had plenty of heat and tang but lacked depth of flavor and was under-seasoned for my taste. Fortunately, we only ordered a small bowl. The deep-fried tofu was bland and forgettable. The stir-fried shrimp was acceptable but nothing special. The biggest disappointment was the sweet and sour pork. I specifically asked the server to make sure the pork was crispy, but it arrived soft and lumpy rather than light and crunchy. Even the complimentary red bean dessert soup was watery and lacked flavor. Our bill came to about $104 for two people. For the quality of the food, I didn't feel it offered good value. Sadly, after several disappointing visits, I don't think we'll be returning.

I know this place has some amazing reviews , but I'm really not sure why. Maybe its the lack of…read moregood Chinese food in the area so this place is the best. I've lived in Toronto, Durham, Peel and I can definitely say its been the hardest to find goood late night greasy Chinese food here in the Port Credit end of Mississauga. I'm still on the hunt! Customer service here was great. I called asked a few questions, than went in and grabbed a menu and went back to my car. Called over the phone and ordered she didn't know it was me and asked if i knew where they were located which was nice. So My order was General tao chicken ( we usually get chilli chicken but don't like it dry, prefer the sauced up spicy, so this is the equivalent at some places), chicken balls, chicken fried rice, and chicken wings. The total was about 40$, which is fair and the portions were alot less to what I was used to. The general tao chicken was not even a little bit spicy, even though she said it was so that was disappointing. On top of that the breaded part of the chicken was extremely soggy and the plate was full of soggy over cooked veggies underneath. the chicken wings were fried and greasy tasted great and well seasoned. Just not like what I'd usually get from a Chinese take out place as it just looked different the way it was breaded and fried. The rice was in a really small container w under cooked pieced of chicken that was very slimy and white and the rice was very bland. I had to overkill w soy sauce and bit of red sauce. Lastly the chicken balls of course 80% balls 20% chicken but tasted fine, just nothing special. I mean it was cheap and last minute but i definitely feel like i would not have ordered here if i had known cheap or not. They have alot to improve on or mayb they are better at making other items listed in reviews from others. Not sure how they have 5 stars. but hey to each their own right!
