The technician was very personable. He knew what he was doing, and the price was right.

We…read moreespecially liked the way he addressed our concerns and covered all aspects of a major purchase. Mr. Reighard sold us on the quality and beauty of the door we were considering and although I had not planned to make a purchase today we did buy the Pella door. We are replacing a Pella door that has seen 30 years of hard use. The price was almost half of what I was quoted by a major competitor we think it's an outstanding value.

I am not a person who normally complains a lot, but our experience with Pella was infuriating…read more They sold us 5 new windows and aluminum wrap on those and 3 existing windows. The installers were nice, but they did an incredibly shoddy job on the wrap, with pieces buckling and hanging long past the edges and/or partially split. Each of the 8 wraps had issues, many had multiple issues, and some were large enough that you could see it from a significant distance. We pointed it out to the sub and they tried to claim it was supposed to be like that and would let the water run off, which even if it was true wouldn't make sense since they had a couple that didn't stick out on one side! We are getting our siding done and the measurer for that project happened to come the next day and confirmed it was poorly done and would prevent them from installing the new J channels flush to the windows. The person I spoke to at Pella later and the person the subcontract managing the install both saw pictures and at least acknowledged it was badly done. The Pella measurer did a lead test and told me it was negative. I thought that was surprising since our house was built in 1941, and told him so, but figured it was possible. When the sub came to do the install they had a positive test and said they would do lead safe practices, but that didn't happen - they did nothing to contain the risk of dust entering the inside of our house - no plastic, but they later lied and claimed they did to Pella. They even told Pella that they put up a lead hazard sign, which is also a total lie and was easy enough for us to get confirmation from our neighbors, other contractors doing separate work on our house, and my own eyes, as I was present for some of the work. The measurer also did a poor job as they had to add stops on some of the windows to plug the gaps in the difference in the size from the order. Pella originally sold us new basement windows only for the measurer to come out later and say the salesperson never should have sold us them and installation wasn't possible. So we had to redo that contract and find a new company to do the basement windows. We went with Pella, knowing we were paying more than we would with other contractors who even install Pella windows themselves, because we expected quality service. I got a call from the person whom Pella subcontracts managing the install and she was nice but wanted to have the same subcontractor come out to redo the work. I was hesitant given the initial shoddy quality but agreed. I asked about the lead and she explained that wasn't her area but said she would have a manager at Pella call me (I guess they weren't going to?). I got a call from Mike Nelson at Pella, who never apologized and just said they would make it right by having the people come out to redo it. When I asked about the lead he said the installers indicated they followed lead safe practices, including putting up plastic and a lead hazard sign. At that point I got upset because I knew it was a bold faced lie. I just want my money back on the wraps and get someone else to do the work because I do not trust those subcontractors. Supposedly I will hear back by the end of the next business day from someone else about refunds (I was told I was not allowed to have their number myself) but my experience so far indicates Pella will refuse to take responsibility.

I have rights to share my experience. That is what the comment section and the star ratings are for...now, in addition to the lies in Sherriff Goslins response, I am being threatened with a mechanics lein because I posted an unsatisfactory review and have called them on their subpar work and unethical lying behaviors. I have witnesses, including another company of licensed contractors who were here doing other work, who heard your team lead, Matt, repeatedly apologizing for breaking parts. Please also see additional photos. I think It is clear how they bully their customers. I will pay every penny in full when work is complete and parts your entity broke are replaced. It is clear from the other reviews I am not alone on how you handle things when questioned. Here are photos from the public to see for themselves

I called in late December of 2025 and they sent two young men out to look. These boys knew nothing about roofing. They took some pictures of the leaking roof and moldy insulation. I waited for a reply from the company but none came for over two months! I began calling SIR in March but could not get anyone to deal with it or call back. They kept saying I had no warranty even though I have bha paper that indicated that I did and a contract that verified the same thing. SIR found the contract in their files--30 year warranty that covered labor costs. Eventually the head of the company, Frank Mumford, called and set up a meeting with me at my house to inspect the damage himself, but he always begged off and never came. In late March he called and offered to do the roof AT COST and replace the insulation for FREE. His bid on doing the roof was $5,800. By this time I had contacted a company recommended by my insurance agent--A FOR PROFIT BID was made at $3600, plus they would follow the specs of the insurance company! Needless to say, I had the recommended company do the work When it came to replacing the insulation, it took SIR 48 days to show up and they only did a partial job. There is much more that could be said, but I will leave it at that. Consumers, be sure to take multiple bids on all future jobs and research the company before you sign on. I give a one star rating to SIR HOME IMPROVEMENT. . .
