    Chocolate Milkshake
    Melissa H.

First timer at Fay's Cafe, I love trying new places. I took my daughter here for lunch. Menu was kind hard because there is nothing listed under any of the burgers, just the names, so you have no clue what's on them, besides the obvious hamburger and cheese burger. I ordered a bacon cheeseburger, an order of crab rangoons to share, and a mountain dew. My daughter ordered a hamburger and fries with a chocolate milkshake. The rangoons were actually really good, lots of filling but kind of burned. My burger was ok but it was covered in seasoning salt, it was pretty much the only thing I could taste. My daughter really like her burger and fries. Her milkshake was good, but was really really thick, almost too much chocolate. The soda tasted like carbon water and not mountain dew. I'm glad we tried their food, but probably wouldn't come back.

Do not let the outsides of the place fool you. Geez this burger place has everything. Boba drinks, cheerful drinks, fries, and the BOMB.com BURGERS. Yuumzy! Also the lady that helped me out was super sweet and attentive. Very clean too.

    Took my food home. Delicious!

If you want a great burger and tired of fast food burger places, then this little cozy burger place is for you. Stop on in if you need a break from the big fast food corporate owned burger places and enjoy good food while supporting locals.

Ordered Fays for the first time on Door Dash, ordered 2 orders of fried pickles because my daughter wanted some too. They give you 6 per order. Ordered some tots, mozzarella sticks, and some fish. Love that their mozzarella sticks are made there, these aren't frozen ones. The fried pickles were good but messy and greasy. The fish which was cod was very good as well. My family of 4 enjoyed our appetizer dinner. Next time we will try the burgers, boba and milkshakes.

I come to Burger Queen and often get the bacon cheese burger which is almost $8... usually The burger has crispy bacon and quite a lot on it. Very disappointed in the burger tonight. Employees are super nice. But man, coming here is a treat and tonight I feel really gypped and the bacon is soggy.

The lamb with chimichurri sauce and tapenade was absolutely amazing!!! The wine pairing suggested was perfect! Jesse did a fantastic job throughout the meal. The restaurant is spacious so you don't have to hear other dining groups' conversation. The food was well thought out, beautifully presented, bread was warm, flavors were creative. Peanut sauce appetizer, chilled watercress soup, pan-fried sole, Mom's graduation dessert, all so delicious! Wonderful food and top-notch service. And while there are some very good, nice restaurants in Corvallis and Albany that we also enjoy, the service at Sybaris puts it at the top. We look forward to dining in their new location when they reopen.

Anyways, we had called a few restaurants in the area hoping to get some dinner. This was the only place that said,"Yeah, we can seat you!" So, hubs and I make our way from our roadside motel (Studio 6, review will be posted) to downtown Albany. The parking situation was a little confusing, but we found parking a few blocks from the restaurant. We got a table, yay! The place is pretty cool, it was a bank back in the day. They have a nice limited menu which offers options for all sorts of food preferences. So, our table was full of carnivores, lol. Hubs had the special which was a smoked prime rib, daughter's boyfriend had the Wagyu Brisket burger and my college grad had the filet. I also had the filet. Everything was super tasty! I would totally recommend if you aren't in a hurry. The servers were great.

It's just non flavored cream with fizz water Truffle fries: some of the best textured fries I've had. Really crispy on the outside. Could be perfect if the truffle flavor is a bit stronger Creole Prawn: the bread is really crispy. The shrimp and sauce isn't very Cajun for my taste. More of a northwest interpretation. Pretty mild Pork porterhouse: huge chunk of pork. The outside is a bit dry. Inside is pretty tender. However, it's lacking flavor. The tomato sauce isn't adding much flavor either. Top sirloin: it's ok. Wanted to order the burger but it's sold out. Just a normal steak. Nothing special Cream brûlée: love this one. Huge size for just 7$. Silky smooth custard with fresh fruit. The only downside is the sugar on top is a bit burned Service is good. Waitress is very nice.

Rainy Day, Great Bar Seat, and One Memorable Meal…read more It was a cold, rainy Oregon afternoon when I stumbled into Castor, and I'm glad I did. There happened to be one open seat at the bar, which is my favorite place to dine when traveling. Sitting at the bar lets you talk story with the bartender, learn the menu, and watch the cocktails come together. If you're eating alone, I highly recommend grabbing a seat here. The bartender was friendly, easy to talk with, and clearly knew both the menu and the craft behind the bar. One thing that stood out right away was their use of fresh local ingredients, which really shows up in the flavor of the dishes and drinks. I started with the Golden Manhattan, made with a pecan-infused bourbon that was fantastic. It had a rich, slightly nutty flavor with warm vanilla notes and just the right touch of sweetness. Smooth, balanced, and a great way to kick off the meal. Alongside that I ordered the chorizo clam chowder, which brought a creamy base with just the right amount of spice from the chorizo. Comfort food with a little personality. For dinner I switched gears and ordered the Creole Sour. This one really stood out. Bright citrus up front, a smooth bourbon backbone, and a subtle spice note that tied perfectly into the Creole theme. It had that classic sour balance, tart, slightly sweet, and refreshing without overpowering the drink. Dinner was the gumbo with hot bread and butter, and it delivered. Deep flavor, a nice slow warmth from the spice, and hearty enough to make the rainy Oregon weather feel like part of the experience. To finish things off I kept it simple with a neat pour of Ben Holladay, which made for the perfect nightcap. The staff were welcoming and relaxed, which made the whole experience feel easy and comfortable. This is the kind of place that works whether you're dining solo, meeting friends, out with someone special, or grabbing dinner with a group. The price point landed right where it should be for the quality of food, cocktails, and service. If you're in Corvallis and can grab a seat at the bar at Castor, take it. Order a cocktail, settle in, and enjoy the ride. It turned a rainy afternoon into one heck of a meal.

If you've ever rolled into Albany late in the evening and thought, "Now where in the world am I…read moregonna get a decent bite?" allow me to point you toward an old standby: Pop's Branding Iron. This place has been holding down the fort for what feels like forever, and walking in feels a bit like stepping into a time capsule where the coffee's hot, the plates are big, and nobody's in a hurry to reinvent the diner. One of my personal favorites is the patty melt simple, classic, and exactly what a patty melt ought to be. My daughter has her own favorite on the menu Monte-Cristo with fries that could probably feed a small ranch crew, That's kind of part of the charm here. The portions are big, the prices are fair, and when a lot of places in town have already shut their lights off for the night, Pop's is still there doing its thing. Now, I'll be honest it shows its age a little. A bit of cleaning and polishing here and there wouldn't hurt. But honestly, that worn-in feel is part of the story. If you're looking for something affordable, old-fashioned, and dependable especially later in the evening Pop's Branding Iron is definitely worth a stop. Four stars from me, and a tip of the hat to a place that's been feeding folks for generations.
